Saad Sangat Ji,
I just wanted to know what is the Ardas done before eating.
And if there are some lines do you just say them? or do say them in the small ardas?

Just out of genuine curiosity,whats the significance of saying 'salok' and 'pauri'? How come its so important?

its part of the paath, makes it complete. without saying salok or pauri, the paath is not complete.
a saakhi that relates to this is when a singh came up to sant gurbachan singh ji khalsa, and asked for a shabad that would help him as he was going through some hard times in life.
sant ji told him to do sava lakh paath of "thir ghar baiso har jan piyare".
the singh went and did sava lakh paath, but he came back afterwards and told sant ji, that nothing had changed and he was still in the same situation. sant ji asked the singh how the did the paath, and he recited it infront of sant ji. the singh used to never say "gauri mahala panjva" or the word "rihao". and sant ji told him that since he didnt say all the words in the shabad, thats why the shabad was incomplete. then sant ji told the singh to do the sava lakh paath again, but this time they told him to make sure u say "gauri mahala panjva" and "rihao".
so yea, just like that, the word "salok" and "pauri" are important part of the shabad.
