are we allowed it. Nihangs have it and they seem chardikala. All the big mahapursh had it. It is puratan maryada. So why the debate?

That stuff robs a man of his ambition and drive. That is totally at odds with our sikh values of hard work and progressiveness.

This and consuming cannabis isn't in any puratan maryada lol, at least not any real Sikh one.

I heard a sakhi in katha once by bhai harrinder singh from uk. he said there was a sadhu that stayed near village and used to sit in chonkra all day. these two farmers who did a lot of work used to walk by and see him. they used to say look at that behla bandha he doesnt do anything all he does is sit down all day. how easy it is to do that. he cant do what we do and work all day because it requires too much effort.
one day they said this passing the sadhu. the sadhu then said to them yes i sit down all day. how many hours do you work.
they both said we work 14 hours a day.
sadhu: come here one day and sit with me for 2 and a half hours and I will pay you four times what you get in a day.
both where like chardi kala he is gona give us 4 times what we earn for sitting and doing nothing for 2 and a half hours. mauja.
so sadhu said come at 2am
so next day they got up at 2am. even that part they found difficult because they where lazy in sikhi. then they both went to sadhu and sat down. they all started simran together. 2 mins they where thinking this is gona b a breeze 2.5 hours of this. 5 mins later they startedfinding it hard to keep chonkra. slowly started moving little bit. shaking legs etc etc. then they where thinking how does he sit like this all day, i can't even concentrate or sit still, he can sit here all day. they realised it was hard. after 25 mins they did benti to sadhu and asked sadhu to go.

those who don't do simran or bhagti for 24 hours will not know how hard it is to be doing seva simran day in day out that niahng singhs do and will have the same view of the farmers that they are behle. 99% of sikhs don't do simran baani. sant baba nand singh jee said minimum on top of nitnem (5 baania btw) should do a month either of... 1. sehaj path 2. 250 jap ji sahibs 3. 150 sukhmani sahibs 4. 108 malaas of 108 mool mantar. this was his mimumum to do in order to gain maharaj happiness. and i think he would know.

question was about degh/sukha. not dissing any jathebandi. that is just disrespectful to any jathebandi.

That sakhi isn't really relevant to this topic. Sikhs don't do bhang to do naam simran and Sikhs live a Miri Piri lifestyle therefore are very much a part of the world (not separate).
An example of a Mahan Sikh who did hard work is Bhai Taru Singh - Bhai Sahib Ji was a farmer and obviously worked really hard.

We needn't look further than what Guru Sahib Ji has told us :

sakhi wasn't, neither was nindiya of nihang singhs. without whome panth wouldn't have got past bandhai khalsa. so was just answering that. rememeber it was khalsa who stayed from 6 pathshah to 10 pathshah and was bhai binodh singh bhai kahn singh etc who put end to it with kushttee etc outside akaal takhat. all parts of panth should be respected becuase they all make up their own part of the world. makes the play more exciting.

2. also what you quoted isn't relevant. because kabir jee is talkin about those in some place (can't remember - if you listen to katha should ifn the place in there) that they where very rich and used to take pride in their fish and bhang which they had a lot of. if you don't believe me then kabir jee also says

jinaa khaadhhee choparree ghanae sehanigae dhukh ||28||
Those who eat buttered bread, will suffer in terrible pain. ||28||

No one is doing nindiya of Nihang Singhs and many Nihang Singhs don't take Bhang.

I didn't just "quote". Guru Sahib is always relevent and always true. Someone who consumes marijuana, even a little will suffer in hell in the current life (the state of mind you're in) and the next life due to actions in the current because of wasting life away in intoxication.

What do you mean bhang has extra ingredients, such as tobacco? Bhang is simply marijuana WHICH IS ALSO WRONG.

If you want something healthy make some shardai. I don't know the exact recipe but you need almonds, milk and sugar.

Using cannibis as a painkiller for medicinal purposes is a completely different thing though since you're not taking it with the wrong intentions.

Also, that Shabad is by Bhagat Fareed Ji

These quotes don't show the full meaning of the shabad. Post the whole shabad and then see what it means, not individual lines, they can easily be taken out of context

Bhang is mixture. like sukha is mixture. but bhang different. tobacco - kurehit.

singher23 jee was just trying making same point as you with use of selected quotes.

anyway topic isn't teaching anything about sukha that i was looking for. still does not make sense that so many of most respected jatehdaars. baba prem singh, baba hari singh, baba trilok singh also from past many shaheed akaali phoola singh baba mitt singh etc etc.
