    Re:

chauvinism breeds chauvinism, let them have there protest this is all they're entitled to in a democracy, we are entitled to ours also so why is nobody holding a protest?, personally i dont care, rule the uk??? dream on what reality are you living in me thinks you have a 1947 partition mindset???? islam is like smoking, its a bad habit to start and even harder to give up but it will cause you alot of distress and harm those around you it may even kill you one day!!!!!!!!!!! :D :D
  3. Mananhanna Sahib is near my village it is a magnificent gurdwara and there is a mela there once a year in honour of the sants who lived there, my grandfather told me that they call them nikki vale sant, at night time years ago they would position themselves along the nair(stream) to find out if the people were coming to the gurdwara were devotees or thugs, and they would vanish after they met with someone on the road, and then appear at the gurdwara to greet devotees or warn the sangat that thugs were approaching. This is all I know. It is truly a great place there is no dehradum going on there. But it is a magnificent building with a really high tower and you can go to the top of the tower as there is a darbar up there.
  4. I remember this man and his wife, the man said that the jathedar was not to be appointed by the SGPC and that the sarbat khalsa should elect the jathedar itself, the SGPC in anger withdrew his wifes support for her constituency in 2002 i think, she lost her job as an mp or whatever they call it in punjab, my guess this was the SGPC's handiwork as they want to treat the jathedar as their employee and this sort of dissent could reduce their control on sikh affairs and ultimately finances.
  5. Hi Did anyone go on the nagar kirtan in coventry?, one of my relatives went and said that a group of muslim youths were deliberatley inciting the procession as it passed by the mosque is this true?
  6. Allow hinduism to remain a shining star instead of a blackhole, you know all of us are in someway linked throughout humanity and if one part of humanity goes down the rest will follow like dominos, no community can thrive forever without the support of others if they could then god would not have created diversity. Does nature survive if we remove a part of the food chain? no it doesn't it collapses and is never the same again. Saying that i like tigerstyle records but wish it was called singhstyle cos i'm lion not tiger :D .
  7. refer him to this: http://www.islamicboard.com/comparative-re...14-sikhism.html I got banned from here. :D
  8. why can't we operate as an independant party instead of making partnership, green party in uk is an independant party, so is bnp.
  9. Looks like the goreh have found a new market that needs exploiting.
  10. I'm of the opinion that hinduism is not a religion more an outward reflection of external influences which manifested through centuries of successive invasions, the greek mythology of gods is a potent form of this assimilation, I think this is why hinduism in spite of its many gods seems to transcend its identity time and time again, its almost as if they take on invading characteristics then claim them as their own, with progressive globalisation you see bollywood as a potent form of americanism, bollywood should not be seen as the same as the old indian cinema, bollywood seems to be the by-product of the invasive globalisation indeed its a pay-off but is very much portrayed as something unique to the collective indian identity, I once heard ashwariya say that bollywood was typical of indias celebration of life through song and dance but india is 90% villages so what reality is she living in. The problem with sikhism then becomes the unique identity as opposed to parent ideology of hinduism which they would like us to believe. Anyways things are changing they are not as forthcoming anymore in projecting us as hindus as we have in recent years been more proactive with our media which is good, but we shouldn't stop we have to stay awake and realise that all people will take advantage it would appear that sikhs only have that tendency to look beyond their own identity and understand others, we should not expect others to do the same.
  11. Reminds me of preparing body for cremation.
  12. a part of me wants to say you should be able to love anyone who your parents introduce you o but i would be denying reality, i feel parents have to comprimise also, the beauty of love is that when you follow your heart you unintentionally follow sikhi because you overcome any caste , racial difference because the heart is not brainwashed like the mind is.
  13. I lived in LA for 2 years then returned back to the uk, I found that racial divides in USA are so apparent, the UK is heaven in comparison, I think obama would be a "change" but I would never support any candidate who supported the death penalty this is my criteria for leadership.
