  1. hello my name is Darcy, Perhaps some of you remember as me the infamous "lionchind" Darcy Cardinal... Anyways since then i have been on my own journey to find out who i am and who i belong to. Well after all these years i find myself directed towards the sikh faith once again. i even found one of my friends encouraged my despite my shortcomings to at least try to learn sikhi... to its core... well i have been trying for a few years, even if my close "friends" want me to try again at it. of course, its a personal journey to each itself, and i want to learn from others, as anyone would want to as a learner. Its 2011, and i am wanting to rehanging my in the sikhi community the proper way... but im without teacher... and wonder who to rely on this time... anyways, my name is Darcy Cardinal... my number is... 2. One thing that i never let go was my hair, now its very long <_< almost ready to wake up again...
  3. I have come out of hibernation for just this... My dear friend Ambrosia or "amber" has made YOM! Wow, it is a refreshing to see this, after all, i have seen Amrit grow in sikhi for some time now. It was a big surprise, since i do come here once a month usually and scan the forums here, to see whats up. Then i saw my friend on the side of the screen, and OMG!!! Anyways, i may not be following the sikhi lifestyle anymore, however, i have great respect for all sikhs! Grats to Amrit Kaur and ss.com. -Darcy Cardinal "lionchild" (going back into hibernation)
  4. that's a good idea khalsa123, that way, you can leant before hand what is in the our guru granth sahi ji! irocincally, i too have been learning a bit of punjab itoo, it will be some time though, before i can actauly use it.
  5. Yeah same here too.. no one i can relate too, only a few people, and they are too busy to talk too. I have some people on line i know well, however, they are miles away. Sikhi can be isolated sometimes...
  6. Interesting, and what it someone is not part of that majority? Just because the majority of sikhs are punjabi, doesnt mean everyone else entering sikhi from other backgrounds has to be like them. Of course, i guess if your part of the majority, you would never know what it feels like to enter sikhi and be a minority in a sea cold people. It's called ethnocentracism...get over it. What a girl. Whinning about being a lazy sikh :D lol, i guess this means your are denying the problem?
  7. expand yet cant control what we have Ironicaly, i was going to say that people like PSK are helping to further sikhi in these dark times. anyways, we need more people with the spirit and energy like PSK to help re generate sikhi. That is why probably originaly, in the guru's days... we expanded and grew.
  8. What a crazy comment :D What should I do then since you always pull the culture card now???? (Ill wear a kilt and lavalava at the same time and play Samoan music on a Ukelele The faurther back in my geneology that I go the more spreadout my ancestors were so then I could say Im a mut, and I have alot of cultures mixed up within me, so is this why I am more openminded about culture than others?? Tell me from your manmat philosophy what should we all do that arent punjabi and are Sikh?????? A person can be still maintain there own culture and language, and still learn sikhi. Thats what it should be - anyone in the world should be able to enter a sikhi temple and learn sikhi in there own language, and also not feel like they are a minority. that is what siki should be - a true global religion.
  9. sikhi needs to expand other parts of the world, however, we need to "re exapand" into punjab as well. Perhaps sikhi will one day be popular in punjab :D

    Rehit?

Maybe there was a reason why the original rehat maryada was never written down. Our true rehat is the guru granth sahib ji.. that is where you will find untainted knowledge and guidence, not by a man made interpretation of what the rehat was once.
  11. We find it hard to believe that there wasnt any boys doing any bad stuff there. Anyways, all the nagar keertans i ever see on TV and once in real life was just punjabi culture a little sikhi... what a disapointment. A procession of GuruJi through the streets so people will see GuruJi and his institution who wouldnt normally get that chance is an indian culture thing??????? GurbaniKirtan is a punjabi culture thing or a Sikh culture thing??? lionchild you have become more loopy as the daze progress :D @ I bet tv is the main source of your opinion. You wouldnt understand PSK, after all you deny your culture and past and seem to be in a cloud of denial. Anyways, the channel was vision tv, and the programs where 2 shows that was all in punjabi and had a nagar keetan event that was taped in surrey and vancouver.
