The SGPC today sacked Giani Mohan Singh, additional head granthi of the Golden Temple, for celebrating golden jubilee of his wedding in violation of the Sikh code. He is the oldest employee of the committee who had also served as Jathedar of Akal Takht for a brief period.

Earlier, he was removed as head granthi when he refused to accept the post of the Jathedar of Akal Takht on December 9, 2000, after the removal of Bhai Ranjit Singh as Jathedar.

Giani Mohan Singh was asked not to perform “rehras” (daily evening prayer) at an eleventh hour by head granthi Giani Jaswinder Singh.

SGPC president Avtar Singh confirmed the removal of Giani Mohan Singh.

However, Giani Mohan Singh denied that he had indulged in any violation of Sikh maryada while celebrating the golden jubilee of his wedding anniversary. He said it was surprising and shocking on the part of the committee to take decision after more than six months of the celebrations. He said then manager of Darbar Sahib and senior officials and certain SGPC members were present at the celebrations. He claimed that Jathedar of Akal Takht Giani Gurbachan Singh himself told him that he had done nothing wrong in celebrating the golden jubilee of his wedding. He, however, admitted that “mehndi” was applied on his hands at the time of his celebrations and cake was cut.

These jokers don't let women perform Kirtan inside Harmandar Sahib yet they 'sack' a gyani for celebrating his wedding,SGPC and all of them Jathedhars - a bunch of Pakhandis they should look at themselves first,they are the ones letting the qoum down fakes,and yes I am refering to Jathedar of the Akal Thakt - Gurbachan Singh,a weak leader who is Badal's puppet,at least Vedanti is now speaking out ,he even spoke in Favour of Khalistan and in the end that got him the sack.This new guy Gurbachan Singh got scared and distanced himself from Khalistan when he was seen under a sign of it in Canada -

A teeny bit on mehndi on his hands Vs Badal sitting on a chair in maharajhs hazoori and then sitting at the feet of a nakli sadh ... which is worse!

One gets sacked, the other is almost worshipped (as long as they get to keep their air conditioned offices and white cars with the flashing red light whoo hooo) <_<

This is outrageous. Singh Sahib Giani Mohan Singh Jee are one of the most Vidhvaan GurSikhs in the Panth. Bhai Sahib Jee took full Santhiaa of Guru Granth Sahib Jee 3 times from Sant Giani Gurbachan Singh Jee Khalsa Bhindranwale. To ensure that the Bani was "Shudh", they practised 50 times on each occasion of taking Santhiaa. In total, that's 150 Sehaj Paaths just when learning how to pronounce GurBani correctly - now that's a Jeevan!

These SGPC/Badal lot are trying to cut Sikhi from its roots. Maharaaj Kirpa Karan.
