LOL... god must look down on us and laugh... idiots.

Guys ... we have a sikh channel ... its a great step... why do we worry about money ( i know i do it myself aswell) its a by product i know those who live on minimum wage i know those that live off the gov and i know those that have £1000 a week jobs and those that have mills in the banks. the Dharm Raja know s all and we all have to do pesh and account for our actions. If you think the sikh channel is bad then do something start your own .... look how many the christains and muslims have... they all have donation rallying days. Why should we stop at one....stop slagging/ doing nindia.... what ever you think of the people behind the scenes the basic point is they broadcast guru jis bani and namm straight to our houses they allow those that have never experinced the rass of gurbani to fulfill the thirst for the gurus knowlegde but we love to look negativlty... the thing is we are niaive and stupid we love to bicker amongst ourselves.

Someone once said .... in the past Our sikh used to be pure and strong our gurdware used to be Weak and falling down now our gurdware are strong and colourful but our sikh is weak and falling down...

Congratulations to the enemys of the sikh faith.. your plan is becomeing fruitful... but remmember the history of the sikhs is built upon the shoulders and heads of shaheeds we will not die and fall like you expect.

Gurfateh Ji

I have been watching sikh channel since it launched and have seen the constant appeals.

But what they have done today takes the biscuit.

I have been speaking to many people who have just recently been helping out at the sikh channel

first of all they are trying to run a sikh channel, demanding money and not delivering quality programming.

They are lying to the sangat its not costing them £50,000 per month

They are sharing resources with their sister channel brit asia, all they are paying are for is the sky fees and their share of the bandwith which is going to be no more than £20,000

They are not paying for staff as they have inturns from europe, and have 2 paid staff which they are paying pennies to.

SIkh channel is not a charity and they misleading the sangat by saying support when the money is going into the back pocket of mr bal.

The sikhs need a channel but they need one that is transparent and delivers what they promise.

sangat have no issues in supporting a channel but they should be honest with their intentions and not mislead them by presenting themselves as a non profit org

I don't see what relevance this has to the channel. If people don't like the owner, don't want to contribute or simply don't like the channel, theres always the option to select the turn off button on the remote or don't contribute.

We've been after a Sikhi channel for years, and when we get it, it's our own community trying to destory it. The Law Society decision could possibly be a indication of the owners character but in the absence of anyone else, i'd rather have him at the helm than the narakdhari supporters at sunrise, the darshan dass supporters at aastha or major sandhu et al at matv.

The Sikh Channel is doing a much better job than any other Sikh media outlet. They aren't perfect, but credit where credit's due.

The post by 'Zindagi' above is mostly lies. It's easy to find out how much it costs just to have Sky broadcast your channel, it aint cheap. Till now, we've had many people talk about doing things, but not actually doing anything. At least Sikh Channel is real, lol.

it seems like the channel is being run as a business, rather then a community channel. if the person is charge is a multi millionaire etc, he must be a business man by nature. all he would care about would be the bottom line figures.

iv watched the channel a few times and the programmes to me seem shabbily produced, indicating that the money they are collecting through direct debits is not being put back into programming.

you can download the PDf with all the details of his case but these are the interesting ones

Point 16 - basically he's using his family to skim money ...

Point 27 - he was making £190 off each refferal to a doctor ...£190 for making a doctors appointment !!!!!! he was charging this to the insurer of the client

Point 31 Police protection !!!! What's he been up to ?

this guy is running a channel and representing the sikh community, doesnt look good when your runnin rverything like a cowboy

    • yeh it's true, we shouldn't be lazy and need to learn jhatka shikaar. It doesn't help some of grew up in surrounding areas like Slough and Southall where everyone thought it was super bad for amrit dharis to eat meat, and they were following Sant babas and jathas, and instead the Singhs should have been normalising jhatka just like the recent world war soldiers did. We are trying to rectifiy this and khalsa should learn jhatka.  But I am just writing about bhog for those that are still learning rehit. As I explained, there are all these negative influences in the panth that talk against rehit, but this shouldn't deter us from taking khanda pahul, no matter what level of rehit we are!
    • How is it going to help? The link is of a Sikh hunter. Fine, but what good does that do the lazy Sikh who ate khulla maas in a restaurant? By the way, for the OP, yes, it's against rehit to eat khulla maas.
    • Yeah, Sikhs should do bhog of food they eat. But the point of bhog is to only do bhog of food which is fit to be presented to Maharaj. It's not maryada to do bhog of khulla maas and pretend it's OK to eat. It's not. Come on, bro, you should know better than to bring this Sakhi into it. Is this Sikh in the restaurant accompanied by Guru Gobind Singh ji? Is he fighting a dharam yudh? Or is he merely filling his belly with the nearest restaurant?  Please don't make a mockery of our puratan Singhs' sacrifices by comparing them to lazy Sikhs who eat khulla maas.
    • Seriously?? The Dhadi is trying to be cute. For those who didn't get it, he said: "Some say Maharaj killed bakras (goats). Some say he cut the heads of the Panj Piyaras. The truth is that they weren't goats. It was she-goats (ਬਕਰੀਆਂ). He jhatka'd she-goats. Not he-goats." Wow. This is possibly the stupidest thing I've ever heard in relation to Sikhi.
    • Instead of a 9 inch or larger kirpan, take a smaller kirpan and put it (without gatra) inside your smaller turban and tie the turban tightly. This keeps a kirpan on your person without interfering with the massage or alarming the masseuse. I'm not talking about a trinket but rather an actual small kirpan that fits in a sheath (you'll have to search to find one). As for ahem, "problems", you could get a male masseuse. I don't know where you are, but in most places there are professional masseuses who actually know what they are doing and can really relieve your muscle pains.
