Wahe Guru ji ka Khalsa Wahe Guru ji ki Fateh

I have put up various sources of Sikh history on my site: www.gsmann.com
It also includes many of my articles that i have written over the many years: including information from my MA in Sri Dasam Granth Sahib from 2001 and many articles that appeared in journals.

Recently i have put up the following:

1) British and the Sikhs: the Akali Nihangs in 3 parts(more to come)

2) Rare document on the Treaty between the Lahore government and the British( Koh-i-noor and Duleep Singh)

3) A article on the history of Takht Patna Sahib from 2008.

Forthcoming various rare material on Sikh and Punjab history including never seen before Sikh manuscripts and how the British broke down the Sikh Religion with missionaries.

I will not be able to answer every question on the documents that i have posted due to time constraints but hopefully this information can help in understanding our religion better.

I'm sure the family history above is very interesting to students of history. However, one very instructive point about the Ramgarhia Misl history that is often overlooked ... is that around 90% of the Khalsa Warriors (who erased their caste upon Amrit) in the Ramgarhia Misl were in fact descended from sections of the community not engaged in the same noble profession as Bhai Lalo Ji ... essentially that erstwhile Jatts, Khatri's, Tanners, Ranghrete, Brahmins, Nai's etc, etc from a diverse range of backgrounds made up the bulk of the Ramgarhia Misl forces.

What was unique about the Khalsa Sikhs was how they rejected the idiotic concept that the profession or tribe of a person's ancestors had any bearing upon a Khalsa's fitness for leadership. It would be nice if we the youth could at least strive to emulate that spirit by destroying the concept of jaath-paath completely ... with 1 United Gurdwara per locality for 1 Panth under 1 God

That might be true but the descendant of Ramgharia Dynasty always had the name Ramgharia as a surname. That is why the name Ramgharia exist today. I am not a Ramgharia but only report what exists in Sikh history.

Great work. Have a copy of your book, just show it to anyone who says negative stuff about Sri Dasam Granth. I am wondering if you will have more articles/books coming out about the "divide and conquer" methods employed against the Sikhs from the 1860's onwards. Would be a great seva, and really intresting to see how divide was created in the Sikh Panth, as this would be the first step towards unity. Thanks, and great work.

Sri Dasam Granth Q and A was just the beginning. The Second book is awaiting completion and will hopefully be out a the end of the year or 2013. That will cover the history of the Sri Dasam Granth Sahib, including translations, history, British accounts, relics of Guru Gobind Singh ji and much, much more.

My forthcoming book on the British and the Sikhs may cover some themes you mentioned. If you want me to write some specific posts on my blog them PM me.
