I feel same way.my parents told me if you are thinking bad about someone possibility is they getting similar thoughts about you as well.so if you think positive overall and you can only control your brain and mind and teach them train them to stop thinking like that and instead think positive and do paath always or listen to kirtan all the time. Its helping me.

What kind of 'bad thoughts' are you receiving? And don't fear, you will look back in the future and think why did I feel guilty about that? Dont worry, do ardas, take part in regular sports activities/other activities to keep your mind focused on other things, try to stay around with positive people and try not to think these bad thoughts.

Firstly I would consider if you may need to seek formal help from a doctor. As this may be a formal thought disorder but likely it may just represent stress.

It all boils down to the fact of focussing on creation as one, god is all and god is one. It is not within us to destroy life, your purpose is simply to be at one with god. If you focus and remind yourself of this these thoughts will diminish and obliterate themselves.

Keep well.

Yes, like stated above, try to take part in other activities/sports.

Also, instead of trying to remove the bad thoughts do something that will puts good thoughts in your brain.

Do whatever you enjoy doing and use the good thoughts from these activities to override your bad thoughts.

Other than that, could you shed some more light on what kind of thoughts they are. Are they kaami, krodhi, attachement? There are different approaches to differnet kinds of thoughts.

If they are your slanderers then it's definitely possible they are thinking about u- most slanderers are obsessed with the person they slander because slander is Always done out of jealousy and the other vices- it is so prevalent in this age, and many sikhs live in fear of it instead of understanding Truly why people do it and working through it.

Also, Gurus told us to silence our minds. I found that when a really bad soul was around(one lives in my house currently) because they live in attachment, u may feel that attachment and mistake it for your own- it therefore triggers attachment within u. When u shut your mind up, there is no way for your thieves to be triggered and u just lie low practicing the gyan you've been taught, accepting yourself as nothing but an empty vessel. Then the souls pain(the negativity) just goes back to them because it belongs to them n they deserve it and it can't stick to you, because you're Nothing.

It's ok nothing to be afraid of, we all going through this defining ourselves with thoughts from time to time (some more than others) but still all of us are still continue defining ourselves with thought. One of ways you can help your situation and this requires little bit of effort on your part its- deconstruction process - First initial step would be is to disconnect yourself from thoughts to the point you can see/hear your thoughts, you see your thoughts as not judgemental pure witness not analyzing/judging or doing anything with thoughts just simple witness (just like sky is not affected by clouds-thoughts- clouds appear and disappear on its own accord under sky just like that thoughts appear and disappear under our witness state) and then slowly you can transcend that too by catching hold of thinker or seer. Keep doing practise -holding on to witness and then seer- until it becomes habitual thing, once it becomes habitual thing- you will stop grasping/clinging on bad thoughts or even good thoughts in egoic conditioned mind quite naturally, it will fall off you will stop identifying with your thoughts-furna and then hakum will start unfolding itself and you will get divine insights- it will come to you naturally and unflold itself -guide you every step of the way further in your spiritual journey.

    • yeh it's true, we shouldn't be lazy and need to learn jhatka shikaar. It doesn't help some of grew up in surrounding areas like Slough and Southall where everyone thought it was super bad for amrit dharis to eat meat, and they were following Sant babas and jathas, and instead the Singhs should have been normalising jhatka just like the recent world war soldiers did. We are trying to rectifiy this and khalsa should learn jhatka.  But I am just writing about bhog for those that are still learning rehit. As I explained, there are all these negative influences in the panth that talk against rehit, but this shouldn't deter us from taking khanda pahul, no matter what level of rehit we are!
    • How is it going to help? The link is of a Sikh hunter. Fine, but what good does that do the lazy Sikh who ate khulla maas in a restaurant? By the way, for the OP, yes, it's against rehit to eat khulla maas.
    • Yeah, Sikhs should do bhog of food they eat. But the point of bhog is to only do bhog of food which is fit to be presented to Maharaj. It's not maryada to do bhog of khulla maas and pretend it's OK to eat. It's not. Come on, bro, you should know better than to bring this Sakhi into it. Is this Sikh in the restaurant accompanied by Guru Gobind Singh ji? Is he fighting a dharam yudh? Or is he merely filling his belly with the nearest restaurant?  Please don't make a mockery of our puratan Singhs' sacrifices by comparing them to lazy Sikhs who eat khulla maas.
    • Seriously?? The Dhadi is trying to be cute. For those who didn't get it, he said: "Some say Maharaj killed bakras (goats). Some say he cut the heads of the Panj Piyaras. The truth is that they weren't goats. It was she-goats (ਬਕਰੀਆਂ). He jhatka'd she-goats. Not he-goats." Wow. This is possibly the stupidest thing I've ever heard in relation to Sikhi.
    • Instead of a 9 inch or larger kirpan, take a smaller kirpan and put it (without gatra) inside your smaller turban and tie the turban tightly. This keeps a kirpan on your person without interfering with the massage or alarming the masseuse. I'm not talking about a trinket but rather an actual small kirpan that fits in a sheath (you'll have to search to find one). As for ahem, "problems", you could get a male masseuse. I don't know where you are, but in most places there are professional masseuses who actually know what they are doing and can really relieve your muscle pains.
