Why Did Punjab Have Such A Pathetic Military History Before Sikhism

Before sikhism punjab did not have any freedom for over 1500 years an was under foreign rule

Punjab was conquered by the huns greeks mauryans aka biharis then by arabs then turks then afghans and persians terrorized the punjab

It was till 1799 that punjab finally came under native rule

Was it cause punjab had no martial culture an most of punjabs castes were not martial aka did not belong to warrior castes

Cause when sikhism came then all of a sudden punjab became a place feared by forieners

If punjab had sikhism born a thousand years earlier is it safe to say that punjab would of bin independent an a military powerhouse that would of gone to stop invaders an then conquere them in their own land conquering the afghans persians an turks

Would the sikh empire or punjab bin as strong as the mongol empire

Today their are 20 million mongals and they are not very martial any more

But when they were martial they conquered china russia japan central asia the afghans the persians the arabs an eastern europeans

They conquered huge

At the peak of mongal empire the world population 300 million with 100 million being under mongals an mongal population was estimated to be at 1 million

Mongals took 100 ppl for each mongal their was out their

Martial culture does have a huge role to play considering your average mongal isn't that big an probably smaller then your average chinese an yet they terrorised china russia an list goes on

It was the Amrit blessed by Dasmesh Pita jee.

Perfect answer, Amrit isn't free it originally came with the 5 heads of the Panj Pyare(I understand why Guru Gobind Singh wouldn't want to show 5 men without a head somehow resurrected, sometimes I find the Baba Deep Singh photo too hard to see), also Sikhi is the way that uplifted farmers and other "lower" people to come to their senses. Afghans are still a tough force and without Amrit you can't beat a group like them: even America and Russia failed.

Do you have any sources to prove your claim that Alexander the Great was killed by a punjabi? I have never heard that one before it is said he died from natural causes....

They are not sure what killed him but he took a long time to die about ten days , some possible causes: malaria, poison, mystery illness not killed in battle at all.

It's said that he received a fatal wound, but the shady part is when he died. At the time I think they didn't associate his death with that wound, but his health declined a lot before he reached home. I think he died a couple weeks later in Iraq. I'm not sure how true this is, but some historians argue this version to be true.

Doesn't really matter who killed him, just showing that Punjab did have a history of martial warfare, but a lot of the military might was fueled by petty tribalism.

it's still nothing compared to the power of Amrit and Gurbani.

    • yeh it's true, we shouldn't be lazy and need to learn jhatka shikaar. It doesn't help some of grew up in surrounding areas like Slough and Southall where everyone thought it was super bad for amrit dharis to eat meat, and they were following Sant babas and jathas, and instead the Singhs should have been normalising jhatka just like the recent world war soldiers did. We are trying to rectifiy this and khalsa should learn jhatka.  But I am just writing about bhog for those that are still learning rehit. As I explained, there are all these negative influences in the panth that talk against rehit, but this shouldn't deter us from taking khanda pahul, no matter what level of rehit we are!
    • How is it going to help? The link is of a Sikh hunter. Fine, but what good does that do the lazy Sikh who ate khulla maas in a restaurant? By the way, for the OP, yes, it's against rehit to eat khulla maas.
    • Yeah, Sikhs should do bhog of food they eat. But the point of bhog is to only do bhog of food which is fit to be presented to Maharaj. It's not maryada to do bhog of khulla maas and pretend it's OK to eat. It's not. Come on, bro, you should know better than to bring this Sakhi into it. Is this Sikh in the restaurant accompanied by Guru Gobind Singh ji? Is he fighting a dharam yudh? Or is he merely filling his belly with the nearest restaurant?  Please don't make a mockery of our puratan Singhs' sacrifices by comparing them to lazy Sikhs who eat khulla maas.
    • Seriously?? The Dhadi is trying to be cute. For those who didn't get it, he said: "Some say Maharaj killed bakras (goats). Some say he cut the heads of the Panj Piyaras. The truth is that they weren't goats. It was she-goats (ਬਕਰੀਆਂ). He jhatka'd she-goats. Not he-goats." Wow. This is possibly the stupidest thing I've ever heard in relation to Sikhi.
    • Instead of a 9 inch or larger kirpan, take a smaller kirpan and put it (without gatra) inside your smaller turban and tie the turban tightly. This keeps a kirpan on your person without interfering with the massage or alarming the masseuse. I'm not talking about a trinket but rather an actual small kirpan that fits in a sheath (you'll have to search to find one). As for ahem, "problems", you could get a male masseuse. I don't know where you are, but in most places there are professional masseuses who actually know what they are doing and can really relieve your muscle pains.
