Can someone please explain to me If I can eat meat or not if I listen to Sri Guru Granth Sahib ji guru ji don't give permission to eat meat why??

Animals Used for Clothing we all Sikhs aware of that Every year, millions of animals are killed for the clothing industryall in the name of fashion. Whether the clothes come from Chinese fur farms, Indian slaughterhouses, we all wear fantasy leather jacket for fantasy look

But at the same time we drink milk?

We use honey? We wear belts we use purses

We use blanket shoes list go on and on

If we're not allowed to eat meat why use stuff that made Fromm animals ? Aren't that a big sins??

If you thought that by quitting meat or at least going weekday vegetarian you were doing your part to avoid the horrors of factory farming, think again there are 9 Everyday Products We don't Know Had Animal Ingredients

Plastic bags

Car and bike tires

Glue

Biofuels

Fireworks

Shampoo

Toothpaste

Fabric softener

White brown sugar why use these daily stuff that has animals ingredient ? ??!!!!!!

I can help (maybe) with at least one part of your post. Belts, shoes, coats, etc. don't necessarily have to made from animal products. I wear a belt that's made from non-animal products and my wallet is also not from the flesh of an animal. As for shoes, you can buy canvas shoes that aren't made from animals. Most anything that's made with leather, fur, etc., you can find alternatives. You just have to look harder.

You have a point jeet ji. But by "quitting meat", atleast your making an effort. Its a start. And if you believe consuming meat is ok, as some do, keep your own chickens/goats whatever and slaughter them yourself. That way you'll know what the animal has gone through...you wont see it as just meat. Most of the meat that comes from supermarkets farms etc is either from animals who are treated like crap or the meats halal.

The leather used for most items of clothing etc is a by-product. The animal is rarely killed just for its skin. Though where it is known that is the case, obviously such products should be avoided. E.g. angora fur...etc. Fur in general i think should be avoided.

As for dairy products, its something we need to have a serious think about. But when "jathedar" et al are all busy looking after their 'korsi', it falls down to the individual to make these conscious decisions.

Tate and Lyle sugar does NOT contain animal bone carbon. Avoid others. OR, use 'Gorh/shakar'.

Every one of us needs to make our own ethical decisions rather than going with the status quo. This includes not wearing clothes which are made from animals, not using products experimented on animals, and so on. Don't assume that all Sikhs are ignorant to this and just go along wearing or eating what they like.

When you eat meat you have interrupted the flow of karam of the animal. The killer, the skinner, the butcher, the cooker and the eater all bear responsibility and all will take on the karma of the animal. You will have to answer for your actions when you pass over. And all the animals you have eaten will demand justice !!!

Sikhs of old were all veggies. The langar has always been veggie. It has nothing to do with some sections of society being veggie hence the langar was made veggie. It has all to do with the fact that Guru Ji were vegetarian and so langar was exclusively veggie. We follow Guru Ji, not manmat.

This is not the same as wearing leather shoes etc although it is advisable to not wear these items and seek alternatives.

Bundha I'm going to quote you, Im in a big pissing match with some people about meat no treat the spin on it makes my eyes bleed

Yeah, my best friend, she was a vegetarian. A lot of vegetarians don't know what to eat. The really easy-mode ones just eat pizza, cheese, and eggs and their cholesterol levels SKYROCKET.

Others are EXTREMELY healthy. The ones that KNOW what they're doing. You can't just half-vegetarianism and expect to be healthy all the time? This is why I don't do it,I don't have the patience to sit there and nitpick and figure out what to eat.

Almost all of us grew up eating meat, wearing leather, and going to circuses and zoos, there here to entertain us feed us really really??

I'm lost

Ya plus

Veggie people have poor diet most of them not even active they get tired so quick there energy level is low some people don't eat cuz it's against our religion really really really??!!!

Wearing animal product isn't against our religion?

Thousand animals get killed for us for human being needs I hear people sAy eating meat is paap how about the daily stuff we use has animal ingredients ever thought about that???

I know some punjabi sikh girls don't eat meat they be like paap laggu baba ji gusse hau how about the lip sticks how about that expensive coach purses they use odhon punn milda? If that's something so called paap sin what ever we shouldn't be using the stuff that made of animal it also consider as sin ever thought about soap socks where they came from ???? Goats ya

Goats also produce milk that can be made into cheese, yogurt, soap and baby formula. Shirts socks tennis ball list go on and on ???!!!?? Anyone heard lard??

Lard is fat from pig abdomens and is used in shaving creams, soaps, make-up, baked goods and other foods they use it for tortious burritos don't tell me you never ate burrito in your life

How about pillow before we go to sleep??

Goose or duck insulating feathers. From slaughtered or cruelly exploited geese. Used as an insulator in quilts, parkas, sleeping bags, pillows, etc.

is quiting meat going to take us anywhere?!?

You will have to answer for your actions when you pass over to the other side, and all the animals you have eaten will demand justice !!!!
