The BJP/RSS have stepped up their attacks on the Badal Dal since coming to power with a landslide majority in May. They openly accuse the Badal Dal of being involved in the Drug trade and other criminal activities. BJP/RSS have used the Badal Dal to establish themselves in the Punjab and do not see much use for it unless it operates completely under their control. The Badal Dal have followed instructions on keeping the Sikhs subjugated , however they have got a grip on the money generated by the state and the Punjab BJP leaders want an equal share.

In recent months the BJP/RSS have gone against the Sikhs;

BJP involvement in riots against the Sikhs in UP and other states

The foreign minister asked the Canadian Govt to take action against Sikhs

No financial package for the Punjab

No punishment of the 1984 attackers of Sikhs.

Stepping up the torture of Sikh prisoners.

The BJP say they want an equal share of seats in the Punjab or will drop the Badal Dal

BJP praising anti Sikh cults such as Jhoota Sauda

Establishment of anti Sikh cults in Punjab and taking a grip of Sikh institutions and organisation.

The Punjab is so much in the grip of Brahmin rituals these days due to the vacuum of Sikh leadership that Panthic Sikhi is relegated to a minority. I hope even at this late stage the Sikhs can wake up and realise that the Indian political parties treat Sikhs the same.

CHANDIGARH, India (October 19, 2014)—After breaking ties with Shiv Sena in Maharashtra and Haryana Janhit Congress in Haryana, the Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders in Punjab have begun to flex their muscles making their old coalition partner Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) led by Parkash Badal, nervous. Huge success received by the saffron party has encouraged its leaders furthermore to go alone in Punjab. This development haunts SAD top brass.

Although SAD leaders claim all is well with its partner and they are sure the SAD-BJP alliance will continue to rule over the state, they admit that they will have to prepare for any possible occurrence. They hope the BJP will not break the coalition at this moment despite pressure of its state leaders since the SAD helped BJP in making its image secular at the national level.

These days, BJP is talking tough on issues of governance and demanding an equal say in running the government in the state. Such developments worry SAD, and Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Badal is upset over the way his government is being snubbed by the Modi-led government at the Centre as if it were dealing with an opposition-ruled state although the BJP is a partner in the state government.

Leaders of SAD apprehend that the BJP would contest Punjab assembly general elections due in 2017 alone. However, Badal’s son and deputy CM Sukhbir Badal does not like to be pressurized by the junior alliance partner. He is confident to win the elections on his own if need arises.

Systematic efforts being made by the SAD to bring Congress MLAs into its fold, make them resign and win the by-elections can be seen in this context. These are to ensure its government has no problem if the BJP suddenly snaps the ties. The SAD has 57 legislatures, two short of a majority in the 117-member Assembly. Whereas the BJP has 12 MLAs in the House.

Traditional section of the SAD is suggesting to return to the Panthik agenda to retain its vote bank in the rural areas to combat the BJP’s quiet attempts for a reverse polarisation to consolidate the non-Sikh votes.

BJP must rethink ties with Badals, says Satpal Gosain

October 23, 2014 | By Sikh Siyasat Bureau

Ludhiana, Punjab: BJP leader and former Health Minister Satpal Gosain has said the BJP alliance with the Shiromani Akali Dal (Badal) in the state needs a rethink. “A string of allegations against the Akali (Badal) Dal has not helped the BJP in any way,” he reportedly said while talking to The Tribune on October 22.

“The drug trade allegations have been a major concern for the people. The BJP needs to rework the nitty-gritty of its relation with its alliance partner for its own good,” he said.

Accusing the Badal Dal of betraying interests of the Punjab industry, he said the industry was suffering and the businessmen in the state were “unhappy”.

“The industry is in doldrums. The state policies have ruined the industry. The surveys we conducted have shown that there is a widespread resentment among the industrialists,” he said.

BJP leaders have started targeting the coalition partner since the saffron party’s success in last Lok Sabha elections. The elections victories of state assemblies in Haryana and Maharashtra have further sharpen the attacks by BJP on Badal Dal.

In history badal will be blamed for letting RSS/BJP enter into punjab. I remember my relatives were very ij negqtive mood when akali dal enter political relationship with bjp in 90's.

Badal wanted to be safe and stay in power, so he aligned with total novice bjp. Badal knew that Jathabadia against against badal because they know that Akali leaders saved their skin in 80's by co-planning attack and killing of sant ji with GOI.

All leaders and party members ignore rural sikhs. Badal personally has close connection with them because he has life experience as being pendu himself. This is the only reason why rural sikhs vote him again and again. Sukhbir playboy and his mama's spoiled kid never had that connection. So if badal sr. dies, akali dal badal will be gone too. BJP made their footprint in punjab with help of badal and they will stay for decades more to come.

In next ten years, we will see two major parties- Congress and BJP. All Akali Dals will be pretty much downgraded to Misc. Party status like of current punjab CPI.

Kejriwal party might have good chance than all akalis but they also bound to make stupid mistakes in choosing stupid political candidates- whether in delhi or punjab.

The Badals have made their investments both in India and abroad so they are not particularly bothered if they go out of power, their future I secure. The big losers are the Sikh masses who do not have any organisations reaching out to them help them socially, politically, economically or in religious matters. The majority of youth are clean shaven and a large number on drugs, they could not even tell you names of the 10 gurus. The well off Sikhs do not carae about the Sikhs or Punjab and try and settle abroad. I think the BJP will come to power by themselves and the Sikh institutions will be discarded if the Sikhs do not come to their senses.

The Indian Plan has been,

First kill the Sikhs who stand up for Sikh issues - Bluestar and mass crack down on Sikhs

Create terror in the minds of Sikhs of the Indian state power with Genocide and Massacres

Hijack Sikh institutions such as the Akal Takht, SGPC, Akali Dal with their own appointed people.

Drop all Sikh related matters from the Punjab Political scene and deal firmly with those that raise issues.

Confuse Sikhs with promoting Sadhs, Godmen, Sanatan Nihangs, Dera owners who try and push Brahmin ideas over the Khalsa ideals

This has lead to decline in the Sikh religion with the ill effects on the youth.

Eventually takeover Punjab with a hardline Hindu organisation such as the BJP/RSS or an anti Sikh Congress. This seems like it happen in the next couple of years.

    • yeh it's true, we shouldn't be lazy and need to learn jhatka shikaar. It doesn't help some of grew up in surrounding areas like Slough and Southall where everyone thought it was super bad for amrit dharis to eat meat, and they were following Sant babas and jathas, and instead the Singhs should have been normalising jhatka just like the recent world war soldiers did. We are trying to rectifiy this and khalsa should learn jhatka.  But I am just writing about bhog for those that are still learning rehit. As I explained, there are all these negative influences in the panth that talk against rehit, but this shouldn't deter us from taking khanda pahul, no matter what level of rehit we are!
    • How is it going to help? The link is of a Sikh hunter. Fine, but what good does that do the lazy Sikh who ate khulla maas in a restaurant? By the way, for the OP, yes, it's against rehit to eat khulla maas.
    • Yeah, Sikhs should do bhog of food they eat. But the point of bhog is to only do bhog of food which is fit to be presented to Maharaj. It's not maryada to do bhog of khulla maas and pretend it's OK to eat. It's not. Come on, bro, you should know better than to bring this Sakhi into it. Is this Sikh in the restaurant accompanied by Guru Gobind Singh ji? Is he fighting a dharam yudh? Or is he merely filling his belly with the nearest restaurant?  Please don't make a mockery of our puratan Singhs' sacrifices by comparing them to lazy Sikhs who eat khulla maas.
    • Seriously?? The Dhadi is trying to be cute. For those who didn't get it, he said: "Some say Maharaj killed bakras (goats). Some say he cut the heads of the Panj Piyaras. The truth is that they weren't goats. It was she-goats (ਬਕਰੀਆਂ). He jhatka'd she-goats. Not he-goats." Wow. This is possibly the stupidest thing I've ever heard in relation to Sikhi.
    • Instead of a 9 inch or larger kirpan, take a smaller kirpan and put it (without gatra) inside your smaller turban and tie the turban tightly. This keeps a kirpan on your person without interfering with the massage or alarming the masseuse. I'm not talking about a trinket but rather an actual small kirpan that fits in a sheath (you'll have to search to find one). As for ahem, "problems", you could get a male masseuse. I don't know where you are, but in most places there are professional masseuses who actually know what they are doing and can really relieve your muscle pains.
