Look at the story in the article, where the women said, she only became christian because her husband was ill and they needed him to be treated n christians wud pay for it.

The institutions are not to be blamed. It is the mindset that nearly all Sikhs have: Sikhi believes that all religion lead to God. This one belief leads to many problems such as conversions, interfaith marriages and what this topic is about. Look at that guy giving an example of Guru Tegh Bahadur, what a lost mentality.

RSS has been highlighting this issue since years. Whatever enmity they have with Sikhs, they have warned us time and time again to react to these conversions of Sikhs in Punjab. You can google RSS chief statements on the issue even years back.

There was a Pastor Harbhajan Singh who forcibly converted 2800 Sikhs in his village and distributed leaflets demeaning the Gurus and Sikhi. He is no more but it shows how far they are willing to go. The dog Badal will keep appeasing minorities like Christians and Muslims which will eventually disturb the communal harmony in Punjab.

'forcibly converted' how ? guns , threats or violence? the problem is on the ground village people do not know the true nature of SIKHI that's why they left they needed support financially, spiritually through parchaar and sangat of other Gurskhs....as ever the fault lies with us being lazy, Now we will be labelled as those SIkhs who forced poor people to convert now that RSS is doing this forcible conversions in Punjab.

we need to denounce THEIR ACTIVITIES and support those who have been 'converted' so they actually know and agree with what happened to them if they are happy then give them full gurmat parchaar via trustworthy parchaariks.

Forcibly is not only physically, remember that.

RSS is doing what Sikh Jathebandia should have been doing. Christian population of Punjab tripled in a decade but not a single Panthic jathebandi spoke up about it. Even now it is not too late to start the Sikh version of Ghar Vapsi. Singh Sabha movement converted thousands of Hindus and Muslims in the early 1900s, we need it back. Do you know that one of the main precursors to that movement was the decision of a few Sikh students to embrace Christianity? It caused such an uproar. Now thousands have left Sikhi and there is not a single jathebandi speaking about it. Look up on google and only the RSS has warned the Sikh community again and again in the past. I denounce RSS and its Hinduization of our independant and unflawed Path BUT credit should be given unbiasedly when (the enemy) deserves it.

but that would be agreeing with force ...when that is not our way....

The problem is that after the Christian missionaries were roughed up outside of Punjab in the late 90s they switched their activities to Punjab. Because there was no opposition to their activities in Punjab they have increased their activities. The sad fact is that rather than opposing the Christian missionaries the Sikh organisations have actually been helping them by criticising the Hindus who are opposing the missionaries outside Punjab. The missionaries even had the nerve to appeal to the Akal Takht for support against the attacks by Hindu organisations.

The Sikh organisations need to wake up otherwise like what happened in the 1870s with the case of Arya Samaj the Sikh youth who are worried about the attacks on their religion by the Christians will start to join the Hindu organisations and the Sikh organisations will lose their relevance.

The problem as I see it is this constant drip drip drip of liberalisation of SIkhi where anything goes - you cut your hair/drink/do drugs/ abort girls/ask for daaj/do castes/have casual sexual flings/dress provocatively but your parents/grandparents were amritdhari you are still sikh ...SIKHI believes all the other paths/religions are equal to SIkhi ...you don't have to be amritdhari to be a Sikh sorry NO, NO and NO !

Sikhi is a clearly defined path which respects free choice of religion but doesn't agree that SIkhs should follow any other part of any other faith. Our Mothers didn't have their babies sliced and ripped up just so we say oh we too will keep roza with you Muslim dudes ...they didn't keep Charva Chauth, tie rakri like their Hindu neighbours, didn't spin prayer wheels of Buddhists, didn't cross themselves and share eggs at Easter stay to your beliefs PLEASE .

We are supposed to keep our eyes open for injustice, hands on doing sewa and minds on the Infinite ... we are supposed to be the Army of Akal Purakh aren't we...does that not demand living to a higher standard? If it is too hard now, STRIVE to do bettereach and every day, not give up and demand that you should have the same status as those who will put their lives down for Guru ji.

Get serious about Guru ji and gain his total blessings people ...that is the path to SIkhi spreading and succeeding ...not the sword like the Muslims...or bribes like the Hindus but the purest love of Akal Purakh...

Only some SGPC members in a personal capacity are working with the Ghar Wapsi scheme. This scheme should have been started by Sikhs with the aim to bring back any Sikhs who had converted to any other religion. In the past it was mostly the Hindu dalits that were targeted by the missionaries but nowadays the Sikh dalits are the one who are targeted. It is these Christians that are then becoming Sikhs, The ones who were Hindus before they became Christians are returning to Hinduism. It is a sad fact that the RSS can claim to bring back 8000 Christians back to Sikhi and our organisations have not done anything similar in this regard. Attack is the best form of defence, the Sikh organisations should be targeting even those Christians whose ancestors were converted in the 19th century. When the missionaries see that these Christians are being converted then they will rethink their activities.

    • yeh it's true, we shouldn't be lazy and need to learn jhatka shikaar. It doesn't help some of grew up in surrounding areas like Slough and Southall where everyone thought it was super bad for amrit dharis to eat meat, and they were following Sant babas and jathas, and instead the Singhs should have been normalising jhatka just like the recent world war soldiers did. We are trying to rectifiy this and khalsa should learn jhatka.  But I am just writing about bhog for those that are still learning rehit. As I explained, there are all these negative influences in the panth that talk against rehit, but this shouldn't deter us from taking khanda pahul, no matter what level of rehit we are!
    • How is it going to help? The link is of a Sikh hunter. Fine, but what good does that do the lazy Sikh who ate khulla maas in a restaurant? By the way, for the OP, yes, it's against rehit to eat khulla maas.
    • Yeah, Sikhs should do bhog of food they eat. But the point of bhog is to only do bhog of food which is fit to be presented to Maharaj. It's not maryada to do bhog of khulla maas and pretend it's OK to eat. It's not. Come on, bro, you should know better than to bring this Sakhi into it. Is this Sikh in the restaurant accompanied by Guru Gobind Singh ji? Is he fighting a dharam yudh? Or is he merely filling his belly with the nearest restaurant?  Please don't make a mockery of our puratan Singhs' sacrifices by comparing them to lazy Sikhs who eat khulla maas.
    • Seriously?? The Dhadi is trying to be cute. For those who didn't get it, he said: "Some say Maharaj killed bakras (goats). Some say he cut the heads of the Panj Piyaras. The truth is that they weren't goats. It was she-goats (ਬਕਰੀਆਂ). He jhatka'd she-goats. Not he-goats." Wow. This is possibly the stupidest thing I've ever heard in relation to Sikhi.
    • Instead of a 9 inch or larger kirpan, take a smaller kirpan and put it (without gatra) inside your smaller turban and tie the turban tightly. This keeps a kirpan on your person without interfering with the massage or alarming the masseuse. I'm not talking about a trinket but rather an actual small kirpan that fits in a sheath (you'll have to search to find one). As for ahem, "problems", you could get a male masseuse. I don't know where you are, but in most places there are professional masseuses who actually know what they are doing and can really relieve your muscle pains.
