Who is Bapu Surat Singh?

Bapu ji is an 83 year old American resident who has been on hunger strike since the 16th January 2015, requesting for the release of Sikh political prisoners that have completed their jail terms but are still languishing in Indian prison's.

Bapu ji has been arrested on 6 separate occasions during this period and force fed in hospital.
