I bet the Muslim cop who killed Shaheed Bhai Jagjit Singh Ji won't be punished.

The majority of the Jammu+Kashmir police are actually Muslims so I can't see a Muslim Chief Minister of Jammu+Kashmir punishing him (and instead probably get a promotion for taking focus off Pakistan flag waving)

It's only the Army who are non-Muslims who have been drafted in to contain protests + that's where we see the Sikh army people in the video's. But the Jammu+Kashmir police are mostly local Muslims who shot Shaheed Jagjit Singh.

It might have been a deliberate sacrifice of a Sikh life to help take the media heat off from Muslims who were waving the Pakistan flag openly there recently and the local Muslim police tolerated that without killing innocent people.

This isn't about what religion or lack of shot the Singh rather it's the Indian Government that shot the Singh and they do nothing, (the situation wouldn't be any different if a dress-up sikh shot this Singh either).

The Jammu area of Kashmir is majority Hindu and is a BJP stronghold. The Police in this area is likely to be made up of Hindu Dogras. Not that religion has anything to do with the actions of the Police.

As far as I know the Deputy commissioner of Jammu is a Sikh Simranjeet Sikh. And in Jammu Hindu are dominant group in that district Hindus are more than 90 %.

No matter where you go in the world, you will always find that the local police is made up of local people. In Jammu, where this horrendous event occurred, Muslims are even rarer than Sikhs. It is Hindu Central. The population is nearly all Hindu and so is the police.

Still, don't let that come in the way of your hatred. If you try hard enough I'm sure you'll be able to discover that the killer policeman once went to school with a boy who had an uncle who purchased a fridge from a shop that also delivers to Muslims. For your mind, that should be good enough to blame the Muslims.

The Hindu hill rajas who fought against Guru Gobind Singh ji and the Dogras who betrayed the Sikh Raj are from Jammu . In 1984 Sikhs were attacked with Grenades supplied by the Police, so it's not new.

JAMMU: Following widespread protests, police tonight booked the personal security officer (PSO) of Jammu Police Chief Uttam Chand under murder charges in connection with the firing, in which one youth was killed during violent protests in Jammu yesterday.

"An FIR under section 302 (murder) of RPC has been lodged (at Satwari police station) against the PSO of Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Uttam Chand for firing (during violent protests in which one youth was killed Gadigarh area of city yesterday)," Jammu Deputy Commissioner Simrandeep Singh told PTI. The PSO of the SSP opened fire in self-defence during an attack by angry protesters at Gadigarh in Satwari belt of Jammu city yesterday.

"Police fired in self-defence in which there was one casualty... All the issue would be looked into and action would to taken against those involved in it," Deputy Chief Minister Nirmal Singh said. He said there was peaceful environment in Jammu and such situation is being created by some people in which one youth has lost his life, he said.

After the post-mortem, the body of the youth, Jagjit Singh, was handed over to his family in Gadigarh (Satwari) this evening, Deputy Commissioner Singh said, adding cremation will take place tomorrow. As per reports a mob stopped that vehicle after the body was handed over to the family for last rites and set it afire. Another vehicle belonging to a TV channel was also set afire in the area.

Earlier, dozens of angry Sikh protesters smashed vehicles and vandalised roadside eateries outside Jammu railway station forcing closure of markets in the area as well in Gol Market area of Gandhi Nagar. Jammu and Kashmir Police Chief K Rajendra Kumar, who rushed to Jammu from Srinagar, chaired a high-level security meeting here and reviewed the situation in wake of clashes. Internet and mobile services, which were suspended by the authorities to check spread of rumours, resumed this evening.

Meanwhile, the state government sent Ashkoor Wani to look after the charge of deputy inspector general of Jammu-Kathua range in view of the emerging law and order situation. Earlier, a group of Sikhs held a protest against the killing of the youth on the call of J&K Sikh United Front.

Talking to reporters, Sudershan Singh Wazir, president of J&K Sikhs United Front alleged the police had deliberately shoot innocent Sikh youth who was among those agitating against the unlawful action of the police. Wazir also inform the protesters that no cremation should be held till the demands of the Sikh community are fulfilled.

Delhi demonstration was done by the Delhi faction.of Akali Dal Badal. It was planned a few days ago and was then intended to be against Congress Party President Sonia Gandhi in connection with the role of Congress Party in getting Jagdish Tytler a clean chit from his role in Delhi massacre of Sikhs in November 1984. But as the Jammu situation developed they made it a joint protest (against what happened in Jammu as well as against Sonia Gandhi). Will Akali Dal (Badal) do such a thing in Punjab?

I have read from a few comments at a few websites that removing the poster from the flex board inviting Sikhs to come to a local gurdwara to observe the genocide day, was instigated by Nirmal Singh (a Dogra, Hindu) leader of BJP) and Uttam Dass SSP ( Senior Superintendent of Police) . The poster had pictures of Shahids, and among those pictures was on of Sant Jarnail Singh Bhinderanwale. The poster was removed by

Police Sub Inspector Arun Sharma. The above mentioned Nirmal Singh is also the Deputy Chief Minister Of Jammu and Kashmir State.
