This isn't about what religion or lack of shot the Singh rather it's the Indian Government that shot the Singh and they do nothing, (the situation wouldn't be any different if a dress-up sikh shot this Singh either).

Yeah bro u are right. When I read the news link below I read the name DSP of Jammu East as Mohammad Rafiq and i assumed he deliberately told his subordinate to make Bhai Jagjit Singh Ji shaheed. The fact is an unarmed innocent Sikh going about his democratic business got shot in the head + whoever did + authorised the murder of Shaheed Bhai Jagjit Singh Ji should be hanged.

The Jammu area of Kashmir is majority Hindu and is a BJP stronghold. The Police in this area is likely to be made up of Hindu Dogras. Not that religion has anything to do with the actions of the Police.

Yes Veerji u are right. Even though Jammu+Kashmir police is mostly Muslim in Jammu yes u are right it's quite possibly likely these Hindu Dogra caste who hate Sikhs could be in there with a hateful agenda to deliberately kill an innocent unarmed Sikh for no reason.

As far as I know the Deputy commissioner of Jammu is a Sikh Simranjeet Singh.

Yes u are correct bro.

This is what makes me angry that the boss of the police in Jammu is a Sikh but he can't control his rogue cops.

How come no protests in Punjab for Bhai Jagjit Singh shaheed? Even Sikhs in Delhi are protesting!

Bro i think it's 2 reasons.

First kuthah Badal probably has a media blackout. Second everybody remembers Shahid Bhai Jaspal Singh Ji.

http://www.dnaindia.com/india/report-jammu-tense-as-sikh-protestors-defy-prohibitory-orders-cop-stabbed-2092705

Situation in Jammu was "tense" on Friday as Sikh youth defied prohibitory orders and held protests in various areas as part of a three-day old agitation which is spreading and saw one more policeman being stabbed and his AK rifle taken away.

Protests were also held in Kashmir besides Poonch, Rajouri and other parts of Jammu region on Friday over the death of a youth in clashes that erupted in Jammu yesterday after hundreds of Sikhs blocked road and pelted stones at cops over removal of posters.

Defying prohibitory orders, Sikh youth on Friday took to streets for the third day as protests spread over various areas in Jammu, Kathua, Poonch and Rajouri districts. In Jammu, protests were held in various areas like Digiana, Gangyal, Canal, Tallab Tilloo, Rehari, Bakshinagar, Narwal and Gole Gujral areas. Groups of protestors blocked the Jammu-Pathakote highway and burnt tyres.

Streets of Jammu wore a deserted look and business establishments remained closed. Mobile and internet services were also suspended in Jammu. Schools and colleges in several districts of the region were closed.

Police and paramilitary forces have been deployed in strength in sensitive areas of Jammu city where the situation is described by authorities as "tense but under control". Army late last night staged a flag march in parts of Jammu following violent clashes.

Authorities had clamped Section 144 of CrPC, which bars gathering of more than four persons at a place, in the entire Jammu district and curfew like situation prevailed in violence-hit areas of Satwari-Ranibagh-Gadigarh-R S Pura belt and elsewhere.

Meanwhile, some miscreants among the protestors stabbed a policeman and fled with his AK rifle in Gangyal area of Jammu city late last night, Sub Divisional Police Officer (SDPO), Jammu Mohammad Khan said.

The stabbed constable Joginder Pal, who is Personal Security Officer (PSO) of Deputy Superintendent of Police (Jammu East) Mohammad Rafiq, was shifted to the GMC hospital, where his condition has improved, the police officer said.

A bandh was observed in Poonch border town of Jammu region, where leaders belonging to all religions sat on protest dharna and called for the maintaining clam amid condemning the death of youth in Police firing. Protests and dharnas were also held in Rajouri town, Rajbhagh, Hatli Morh and Lakhipur on Jammu-Pathnakote in Kathua district and Udhampur, reports said, adding that traffic was disrupted on highway for two to three hours.

Members of the community held protests at various places in Kashmir also over the killing of the youth, alleging "high handedness" of police and raising slogans against the government. Protests were held at Press Colony and Amira Kadal near Lal Chowk here, officials said. Similar protests were held in Baramulla in north Kashmir and Awantipora in south, police said, adding the protestors temporarily blocked the Srinagar-Jammu highway at Awantipora.

Union Minister Jitendra Singh, who hails from Jammu, today briefed Home Minister Rajnath Singh about the situation. Singh, the Minister of State in the Prime Minister's Office, said the Home Minister has offered all possible support to the Jammu and Kashmir government for dealing with the situation.

Rajnath Singh has spoken to Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed and offered him sufficient number of armed forces personnel in case the need arises, Jitendra Singh said, adding "I hope the situation will be brought under control very soon."

Shiromani Gurdwara Prabandhak Committee has, in a letter to the state government, condemned police action regarding removal of the hoarding carrying the photograph of Jarnail Singh Bhindrawale and accused police of mishandling the situation and allowing it to go out of control. It has demanded suspension of SSP Jammu, Uttam Chand and SHO of Satwari area Kulvir Singh.

A youth, Jagjit Singh, was killed yesterday and seven others including policemen were injured in clashes between police and a large group of Sikhs who blocked roads here. The condition of the three policemen has been described as critical by doctors, police said here.

The Chief Minister as well as his deputy Nirmal Singh has appealed for peace. Expressing deep sorrow and anguish over the loss of a precious human life during protests by the members of the sikh community in Jammu, Sayeed had said that while it is the responsibility of the police to maintain law and order, at the same time Standard Operational Procedure (SOP) should be strictly adhered to in order to avoid such tragedies during public protests.

Nirmal Singh today voiced confidence that things will be controlled "within a short span of time" and said talks were being held with community leaders. He said an investigation is being held into the incident involving killing of the youth and the guilty will face action in accordance with law. "It is very unfortunate that this situation has emerged in Jammu and in a particular area. The administration is on the job and we are meeting the people there, the leaders of the community and we hope that the situation shall be brought under control," he said.

"I appeal to the people, especially the leaders of the community, that they must maintain peace and communal harmony because it (protests) is not in larger interest of the people of Jammu and Kashmir and India also," he said.

Former Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, meanwhile, hit out at the PDP-BJP government over waving of Pakistani flags in the Valley and emergence of Khalistani posters in Jammu, saying it has not been able to bring "regional balance" in the state.

"Pakistani flags in Kashmir and Khalistani posters in Jammu. This wasn't the regional balance we were promised by the Modi-Mufti accord," Omar wrote on micro blogging site, Twitter. "My heartfelt condolences to the family of the young man killed by police firing in Jammu today. May his soul rest inpeace," Omar said.

Meanwhile, All Parties Sikh Coordination Committee (APSCC) has expressed concern over the killing and demanded a judicial probe into the incident. "We have recovered the AK-rifle from some people this afternoon and a case has been registered. Arrest will also take place," SDPO Muhammad Khan said.

This was the second such incident as earlier on Wednesday, a Sikh protester carrying sharp edged weapon stabbed a Sub-Inspector Arun Kumar. His condition is now stated to stable in GMC hospital.

Jagsaw "couldn't care less about Jagjit Singh"

> Speak for yourself in your own words above Jagsaw

or about any of the other murders Hindu India has done in your name.

> Unlike you Jagsaw I'm not a Hindu caste system worshipper called Jagsaw that calls himself a proud Jatt and who would only marry a Jatti because that's what your Hindu caste system tells your Hindu caste system slave a$$ to do. So it's your country and your pathetic religion, not mine. Canada didn't want u so u should go back to your Bharat Mata like other Hindu caste system worshippers. After all it was your ancestors who worked for the British Raj that delivered my Punjab into the hands of your pedophile Bapu. Should I stop now? As i know u don't like it when I mention disgusting and unashamed pedophiles like Gandhi and Prophet Muhammad.

http://www.answers.com/Q/Was_Gandhi_a_pedophile

http://www.faithfreedom.org/challenge/pedophile.htm

and you've now sunk so low you've even used Jagjit Singh's death as a pawn in your hatred game.

> You're the one who has done that Jagsaw by ignoring the valid point I was making about the shaheedi of Bhai Jagjit Singh Ji being a deliberate calculated murder co-organised by your Hindu + Muslim friends in order to take away the media spotlight off Pakistan flags being flown in Kashmir.

No matter where you go in the world, you will always find that the local police is made up of local people.

> Yes and the majority of the Jammu+Kashmir police are Muslims.

http://jkpolice.gov.in/notifications/Seniority%20Lists/SI_Photo_June_2013.pdf

> Amritsar is a Hindu majority town but the majority of the cops still happen to be nominally Sikh but don't worry I know that you can't take any criticism of Muslim killers of Sikhs like Muhammad Izhar Alam of Indira Gandhi's Black Cats or the Pakistani Genocide of Sikhs and even here your concern was not the deliberate murder of an innocent Sikh Bhai Jagjit Singh Ji but only to defend your Muslim paymasters from Pakistan that you represent on this site for a few Pakistani rupees each month.

Jammu Sikh man death: Family still in shock Jasjit Singh was not the part of mob that pelted stones on police in protest over the removal of posters, the family says.

Raj Kour is inconsolable. She says her son Jasjit Singh had gone out to buy medicine for his 85-year-old grandfather, but he fell to police bullets en route at Gaddigarh on Thursday.

Working as a sales executive in a telecom company, Jasjit, 23, was second among the three children of Raj Kour and Narbir Singh. Jasjit is also the second son the couple has lost in a span of six years. Jasjit’s elder brother Mandeep Singh, an IT graduate, had gone to Delhi in search of job six years ago and since then, there has been no information about him. The couple is now only left with their daughter Taranjeet Kour, 22, who is working in Delhi.

Sitting outside the mortuary at the Government Medical College Hospital, Raj Kour was trying to find out why her son had been killed. He was not the part of mob that pelted stones on police in protest over the removal of the hoarding featuring militant Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale, the family says.

While Taranjeet Kour is trying to console her mother, Inder Singh, Jasjit’s grandfather, is staring in disbelief, refusing to believe his grandson is no more.

According to the family, Jasjit had left home with his mother in a car to buy medicine. En route, his mother asked Jasjit to drop her at the house of her brother Sujjan Singh at Simbal Morh, who along with his son Parvinder, had recently died in earthquake in Nepal.

After dropping her, Jasjit left saying he will return soon with the remaining medicines. Within an hour, a group of people came to tell her that she has to rush home as Jasjit has been injured in police lathicharge and taken to a hospital. However, on seeing the huge crowd on the road outside, she became suspicious and insisted on going to the hospital, her brother Manjit said.

On his way to the market, Jasjit came across protesters. To avoid them, he parked his car at a relative’s house nearby and went ahead on foot. However, when he was crossing the road to reach a nearby chemist, police opened fire on protesters and a bullet hit him in the head.

Jasjit’s father, who was in Delhi at the time of the incident, was informed shortly after.

You have to admire the Jammu Sikhs. Even though they are surrounded by a hostile Hindu population which has recently shown how anti-minority they are by voting for the BJP, these Sikhs have shown the rest of the Sikh world how to tackle oppression and win. They have got all their demands conceded and shown the BJP government in Delhi how they would rather give up their lives than allow anyone to tear up a poster of Sant Bhindranwale. These brave Sikhs of Jammu have shown the government just how highly they regard Santji. They have also shown what they think of the biased Indian media channels which have been reporting that the police had fired in 'self defence' and referring to Sikhs as 'rioters' by burning the media van of the ABP news channel. The ABP media are alleging that the police made no effort to stop the burning of their van and had fled to a safe distance. Maybe the Jammu police have now learnt their lesson.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6CIVoBWaM9s

One of the media channels asked the question 'How can a poster of (Sant) Bhindranwale cause an entire city to go up in flames?' These clowns don't have a clue about just how important Santji is to us Sikhs. In the end the presenter had to concede that Santji is an important figure to a majority of Sikhs.

Our thoughts should now be with the family of Shaheed Jagjit Singh and we should aim to give any financial help we can to the families of the Shaheeds.

Yes the Jammu Sikhs have shown time and time again that they are committed Sikhs. Just a short distance away you have Hoshiarpur in Punjab where the Sikhs there never do anything. Even the Kashmir Govt has acknowledged it was murder.

Curfew lifted in violence-hit areas in Jammu; Army deployed

Tribune News Service

Jammu, June 6

Curfew has been lifted from violence-hit areas under Satwari and Miran Sahib police stations of Jammu after Sikh organisations and administration reached an agreement over transferring the Jammu SSP and suspension of SHO, Satwari police station, late Friday night.

However, Section 144 continues to remain in force in Jammu district as a precautionary measure.

Meanwhile, the Army was deployed today in various parts of the tense Jammu as the Sikh youth killed in clashes with the police was cremated after the state government accepted most of the demands of the agitating community, including magisterial probe and transfer of district police chief.

Army carried out a ‘Flag March’ in the disturbed areas of Jammu, including Miran Sahib, Satwari, Digiana, RS Pura, Talab Tillo, Bakshi Nagar and Rehari this morning as security was stepped up in view of the 31st death anniversary of Khalistani militant leader Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale.

Quick reactions teams (QRTs) of police were also deployed in view of the prevailing tension arising out of four-day protest by the Sikh community members over removal of Bhindranwale’s posters which had come up in some localities.

“The situation in Jammu is peaceful but tense. There was no report of any untoward incident from anywhere today.

Elaborate security measures have been taken in view of the sensitive situation,” a senior police officer said.

Defence PRO Lt Col Manish Mehta said two columns of Army were deployed in the city after requisition from the civil administration.

One column moved onto the streets and roads of Miran Sahib to conduct a ‘Flag March’ to caution rioters and violent protesters, he said, adding that soon after, one more column of troops was sent to control the situation in RS Pura.

“Situation is tense, however, under control,” Mehta said.

Meanwhile, the Sikh youth killed during clashes was cremated today after the state government accepted most of the demands of the agitating community.

Jagjeet Singh, who was killed in police firing on Thursday, was cremated at his village, Chwala in RS Pura, 30 km from Jammu. Thousands of people from nearby areas participated in the cremation.

“The cremation has taken place peacefully at Chohala hamlet in RS Pura tehsil this afternoon. There were no protests,” a police officer said today.

The government ordered magisterial probe into firing incident and violence. It would be conducted by Divisional Commissioner, Jammu, Pawan Kotwal.

Accepting another demand, the government ordered transfer of Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Jammu, Uttam Chand, suspension of Satwari’s Station House Officer (SHO) Kulbir Singh and payment of ex-gratia of Rs 5 lakh and a government job to the next kin of the slain sikh youth Jagjit Singh.

A case under murder charges was also registered against SSP’s PSO.

“An FIR under Section 302 RPC (murder) has been lodged (in Police Station Satwari) against the PSO of SSP Uttam Chand for firing (during violent protests in which one youth was killed Gadigarh area of city yesterday)”, Deputy Commissioner, Jammu Simrandeep Singh said.

The PSO of the SSP had opened fire in “self-defence” during an attack by angry protesters at Gadigarh in Satwari belt of Jammu city, police has said.

“The police had fired in self-defence in which there was one casualty. The entire incident would be looked into and action would to taken against those involved in it,” Deputy Chief Minister Nirmal Singh had said.

He said there was peaceful environment in Jammu and such a situation is being created by “some people”.

The government posted Ashkoor Wani as DIG, Jammu, gave charge of SSP, Jammu, to Additional SP Rajiv Panday and posted Manjeet Singh as new Station House Officer (SHO) Satwari Police Station.

“The four-hour-long talks late in the night with the administration were successful since all the demands of the community were met,” Sikh leader Tarlochan Singh Wazir told reporters here.

The government side was represented by state Home Secretary R K Goyal, Director General of Police K Rajendra Kumar, Jammu Divisional Commissioner Pawan Kotwal and other senior civil and police officials.

Streets of Jammu wore a deserted look and business establishments remained closed for third consecutive day today. Educational institutions in Jammu, Samba, Kathua, Rajauri and Poonch districts also remained shut for the second consecutive day.

The mobile and internet services were also suspended in Jammu for the second day.

Apart from the Army, police and paramilitary forces have been deployed in strength in sensitive areas.

Authorities had clamped Section 144 of CrPC, which bars gathering of more than four persons at a place, in the entire Jammu district two days back and curfew like situation prevailed in violence-hit areas of Satwari-Ranibagh-Gadigarh-R S Pura belt and elsewhere. — WIith PTI inputs

Killer policeman identified as Mukesh Saini

According to an article published in The Sikh Siyasat News, the name of the cop booked for shooting Bhai Jashjeet Singh is ‘Manjit Saini’. From the name it appears that he may be from Sikh family. If it is, it would be the usual practice of Police in India , where ever it can be done, to have a Sikh killed by a Sikh cop.

Please, read the last paragraph of the article @
