Can You Be Sikh And A Feminist Or Not?

Of course because that is not the image of a sikh but what is wrong with a man behaving effeminate when it completely fine for a woman to be a tomboy. That is based on personality. Sikhi aside, I cannot see what is wrong with the japanese bloke in the picture. As a sikh we should be judging people by personality and character rather than appearance.

Bhenji, there is nothing inherently wrong with such behavior. But we are Sikhs, we wear our sacred dastaars so that people might know us as followers of the Guru.

Our lives are not ours to live. There are certain expectations and standards to which we must conform.

I didn't argue with that but I'm sure you would understand why it is wrong to tease someone's appearance and culture if it were done of sikhs.

When I was at Uni a while ago I had a white hippy girlfriend who called herself a feminist, she was studying a psycology degree and as a protest she used to grow the hairs on her legs.

Now if this is one of the definitions of feminism namely that a woman will not cut, trim or change her body in order to fit the mainstream image then you Sikh girls are way ahead of the curve.

A Kaur is the ultimate feminist in this regard.

Just saying.

As a fan of Japanese culture (mainly their novels, manga and anime) I can safety say that Okatu are frowned upon in general. Their culture is broad but Hentai is pretty much porn to them. It's a thriving industry there though, just like adult films are here.

Though in many manga/anime there are those small sexual jokes but the most masterpiece ones which are considered works of art are devoid of this kind of humor.
