Is This Right? 'raab Ji'' Baba Harnam Singh Ji

Recommended Posts

I was watching Sangat TV and a woman in conversation on it stated that Baba Harnam Ji [which she said he was 'RAAB JI''] to which I sniggered to because if she or anybody whom claims to be a Sikh would NEVER address a mortal being no matter how holy they were as GOD - Raab - as Gurbani frowns upon it. Anyway she then claimed he was the sixth Guru, Dhan Guru Hargobind Nirankar Ji reincarnated??!!

Now again, there are many holy people who repeat the name of God and preach, spread the word but nobody is worthy of being labeledd a living God. This is manmat and down to utter ignorance. _ This is not nindiya of preachers but there is a line and here it has been crossed.

The modern Nanaksar Samparda seems to possess an uncomfortably high number of Sants with pretensions to divinity, including this parchaarak here and Amar Singh of the Guru Nanak Academy in Hayes, he who allows his followers to consume his jhoot. Apparently all one has to do to impress Sikhs these days is dress all in white.

I am not surprised that most of their allegiance is cultivated from the ranks of womanhood. Women are beholden to their motherly instincts, they spend a lot of time worrying about their children and their families. Who better than a Sant possessed of a magnetic charisma to allay their fears, to convince them that they've but to come beneath his aegis for all their worries to disappear? This is why women are the backbone of religious congregations.

Yes, but also makes you aware that those that do follow such babe, sadhs, pandits are weak, just have to look at Eve & the forbidden tree.

I agree, but I don't know that the comparison to Eve and the forbidden tree is wise. That story was a ripoff of the earlier tale of Pandora's box, which was partially meant as an attack against all women. Let's not project the character of a mythical blockhead onto all of womankind, lol.

Brother, the amount of incarnations of Baba Deep Singh Ji running around on Earth is quite startling. You'd assume giving shaheedi on the battlefield after a lifetime of bhagti would be enough for Baba Ji to merge with the Almighty. But, no, apparently there was some unfinished business in central England and Jalandhar that warranted their rebirth. / sarcasm.

I laughed at that. You may have just broke me down into hysterics, thank you.

This is the first time I'm hearing of people proclaiming to be Baba Deep Singh Ji. I sometimes wonder if people actually bother reading the history other than the portion where he faced the Invading army and defended Harmandhir Sahib. The amount of Bhaghti he did is amazing, not to mention the amount of time he spent with Guru Sahib.

I get warm and fuzzy feelings when I read about them handwriting pothis (I think that's the correct term) in their twilight years. I mean, how brilliant is that? An out-and-out warrior as well as someone with the discipline and intelligence to produce saroops from memory by hand. That's the quintessential Saint-Soldier IMO. Legend.

Not as mythical as you seem to believe...

ਬਾਬਾ ਆਦਮ ਕਉ ਕਿਛੁ ਨਦਰਿ ਦਿਖਾਈ ॥

He (God) bestowed His Grace on Adam, the father of mankind,

ਉਨਿ ਭੀ ਭਿਸਤਿ ਘਨੇਰੀ ਪਾਈ ॥੨॥

who then lived in paradise for a long time. ||2||

(Guru Granth Sahib : 1161)
