Can we even sign it if we aren't from the U.K.?

Awful.

I can't believe that the nominal 'world's largest democracy' actually has to be petitioned to stop innocent girls from being raped! This could only ever happen in that nation of cowards and liars.

And take note proud Jatts. This is what comes of the persistence of your outmoded casteist evil into the 21st century.

A lot can happen when any society forgets the one and only Satguru Nanak, most of these people would go to Pakhandi Babas for spiritual advice.

Who are the Jatts here? Are Jatts going to rape those girls?

So Sikh Punjabi Jatts are to be blamed?

Do they not have a hand in the persistence and perpetuation of the Jatt culture from which this problem has arisen? Is it not unheard of for girls to be brutally punished for pursuing a relationship outside of their caste in the Punjab? The issue is much larger than this incident.

The clannish and insular Jatt mentality is the main obstacle in the path of the dissemination of the Sikh faith across Northern India. The Jatt-controlled Akali Dal/SGPC refused Dr Ambedkar and his followers entry into the faith because it would have radically altered the racial constitution of the Panth and divested the Jatts of their numerical supremacy. If Sikhi was more widespread, if it had the clout that accompanies numerical strength, vast tracts of India might have been totally different, including UP which borders Southern Punjab (Haryana). Casteism may have been rooted out, in which case pointless barbarism such as this might not be happening.

So yes, shame on them. Shame on them for hobbling and retarding the advancement of Sikhi, the ideology which has the potential to be the greatest force for positive change in the subcontinent.
