Question About Darshan

Waheguruji,

I have a question and hope that someone be able to help me out... Is it so that only those who take amrit have darshan of Guru Sahibs? I mean parthak darshan. I completely accept Guru Granth Sahib as our only Guru. But I mean parthak roop ch.. I also feel that perhaps only Mahapurukhs, Sants have that spriritual wisdom or bhagti to ever get darshan.. But do those who take amrit too get parthak darshan? Does one have to be an amritdhari to receive darshan? Someone explain it in simple way please.

Bhull chuk khima.

VAHEGURU JI KA KHALSA, VAHEGURU JI KI FATEH

There are two stories about people getting darshan of Dasam Patshah who were not even from Punjab, let alone Amritdhari:

A) http://www.sikhiwiki.org/index.php/A_Miracle_During_World_War_II

B) http://www.sikhiwiki.org/index.php/Makindu_Sikh_Temple - under miracles.

Guru Sahib will reveal to those when needed or to those who are truly devoted for Darshan of Guru Sahib (read about Sant Attar Singh Mastuana's foot journey from Punjab to Nanded in the thirst of Darshan of Guru Sahib). Those who have Darshan, opening of Dasam Dwar, and other spiritual occurrences during Amrit Sanchars are through Bhagti from previous births bearing fruit and Kirpa of Guru Sahib (so the stories of elder Gursikhs lead me to believe).

There is a similar story about the Makindu Guradwara in Kenya. There was an African who had never seen Guru Gobind SIngh Ji. He used to go to sleep on a certain place. Then he would get woken up by the Guru who would be on a horse. Guru Ji was doing a parkarma of the place with his army.

When people showed the man pictures, he immediately recognised Guru Gobind Singh Ji.

A Guradwara was built on that place. The Guradwara has now expanded to become so big almost like a hotel. People from all religions have langar there before proceeding to Mombasa.

Who are we to say who they give darshan to? That is to whoever is destined to receive or whoever they wish to with the grace of God.

सतकि भागु ॥

Agam agocẖar ḏaras ṯerā so pā▫e jis masṯak bẖāg.

The Blessed Vision of Your Darshan is unapproachable and incomprehensible; he alone obtains it, who has such good destiny recorded upon his forehead.

Koi vadhbhagee nu milde aise darshan.

Gur samrath apār gur vadbẖāgī ḏarsan ho▫e.

The Guru is All-powerful, the Guru is Infinite. By great good fortune, the Blessed Vision of His Darshan is obtained.

Sanṯ pi▫āre sacẖai ḏẖāre vadbẖāgī ḏarsan pāvṇi▫ā. ||1|| rahā▫o.

The Beloved Saints were established by the True Lord. By great good fortune, the Blessed Vision of their Darshan is obtained. ||1||Pause||

ਦੇਵਣਹਾਰੇ ਕੈ ਹਥਿ ਦਾਨੁ ॥

देवणहारे कै हथि दानु ॥

Ḏevaṇhāre kai hath ḏān.

The Gift is in the Hands of the Great Giver.

Don't worry about parthak darshan, just praise God. One receives darshan of all the Gurus through Sri Guru Granth Sahib ji through Gurus shabad with Gods grace.

Waheguru is present in each one of us. We never know how he is going to give darshan to us.

I heard this story from a girl. There was a lady who used to do akhand path and a lot of seva. Then one day when she was serving everybody langar, a Mangta in dirty clothes in. she got really annoyed and refused to serve him langar. She chased him out, and went about her work. Then a minute later she changed her mind and came to look for him. she asked everyone where he was. No one else had seen him.

The lady broke down in tears and went to her room and cried her heart out. God himself had come to her and she had refused to serve him langar!!!

Similarly Bhai kanaeya on the battle field kept giving water to the enemies and making them strong again. When a report went to Guru Ji, Bhai Kanaeya apologised and said that what am I supposed to do - I keep seeing you in everyone Guru Ji. I cannot tell the difference between friend and foe.

Hanji Sikhni777 ji I agree one will not realise when they give darshan and how. I have heard stories too where they realised until after. God shows themselves through others like you said when they need communicate something to somebody, not that the person is to be thought of as God, but one will receive help or a message via a means(channel).

Thank u ms514. I was surprised to read the stories. How will anyone know what ones done in previous janam. Or perhaps it is sehej. I also feel that those who've had darshan wouldn't want to speak about it. It would be that pavitr for them. In a way its sad. But thank u for sharing.

    • yeh it's true, we shouldn't be lazy and need to learn jhatka shikaar. It doesn't help some of grew up in surrounding areas like Slough and Southall where everyone thought it was super bad for amrit dharis to eat meat, and they were following Sant babas and jathas, and instead the Singhs should have been normalising jhatka just like the recent world war soldiers did. We are trying to rectifiy this and khalsa should learn jhatka.  But I am just writing about bhog for those that are still learning rehit. As I explained, there are all these negative influences in the panth that talk against rehit, but this shouldn't deter us from taking khanda pahul, no matter what level of rehit we are!
    • How is it going to help? The link is of a Sikh hunter. Fine, but what good does that do the lazy Sikh who ate khulla maas in a restaurant? By the way, for the OP, yes, it's against rehit to eat khulla maas.
    • Yeah, Sikhs should do bhog of food they eat. But the point of bhog is to only do bhog of food which is fit to be presented to Maharaj. It's not maryada to do bhog of khulla maas and pretend it's OK to eat. It's not. Come on, bro, you should know better than to bring this Sakhi into it. Is this Sikh in the restaurant accompanied by Guru Gobind Singh ji? Is he fighting a dharam yudh? Or is he merely filling his belly with the nearest restaurant?  Please don't make a mockery of our puratan Singhs' sacrifices by comparing them to lazy Sikhs who eat khulla maas.
    • Seriously?? The Dhadi is trying to be cute. For those who didn't get it, he said: "Some say Maharaj killed bakras (goats). Some say he cut the heads of the Panj Piyaras. The truth is that they weren't goats. It was she-goats (ਬਕਰੀਆਂ). He jhatka'd she-goats. Not he-goats." Wow. This is possibly the stupidest thing I've ever heard in relation to Sikhi.
    • Instead of a 9 inch or larger kirpan, take a smaller kirpan and put it (without gatra) inside your smaller turban and tie the turban tightly. This keeps a kirpan on your person without interfering with the massage or alarming the masseuse. I'm not talking about a trinket but rather an actual small kirpan that fits in a sheath (you'll have to search to find one). As for ahem, "problems", you could get a male masseuse. I don't know where you are, but in most places there are professional masseuses who actually know what they are doing and can really relieve your muscle pains.
