Its not often I start a thread that isn't my own work but this is a special case. In fact its amazing. Just read the comments from average 'Indians'. These Sikhs from the UK based Khalsa Aid / Langar Aid have done something quite extraordinary. Whole western nations have got armies and armed specialists that won't step foot there because its so dangerous. Western news agencies won't send their reporters there because its so dangerous. And yet a group of Sikhs have gone out there and fed the hungry. I'm in total awe of these guys and salute the way they've brought so much love and respect for Sikhs worldwide.

An Indian housemaid had her hand hacked off allegedly by her female employer in Saudi Arabia and has complained she has been tortured whilst working in Riyadh.

Kasturi Munirathinam, originally from the south Indian city of Chennai, had been earning £150 a month while working as a cleaner for a household in the Saudi capital.

Since she started working in Riyadh, she said she had been tortured and deliberately deprived of food by her employers.

Her family said that when Ms Munirathinam tried to escape, her employer decided to punish her and cut off her hand.

'When she tried to escape harassment and torture, her right hand was chopped off by the woman employer. She fell down and sustained serious spinal injuries,' her sister, S Vijayakumari, told the Press Trust of India.

Ms Munirathinam was taken to hospital in Riyadh and her condition has now reportedly stabilised.

A video has emerged on social media, allegedly showing the moments after Ms Munirathinam was attacked.

Since she started working for Riyadh, Kasturi Munirathinam alleged she had been tortured and deliberately deprived of food by her employers

Ms Munirathinam was taken to hospital in Riyadh and her condition has now reportedly stabilised

'I pleaded with the lady not to harm me but she kicked me, punched me and cut off my arm. I want to go back home. Please help me,' she says in the video according to the Times of India.

'Kasturi's employer was angered after she apprised local officials about the harassment she was facing there, she was not even provided food,' her sister S Vijayakumari told the Press Trust of India news agency.

'When she tried to escape the harassment and torture, her right hand was chopped off by the woman employer. She fell down and sustained serious spinal injuries,' she said.

Sushma Swaraj, India's minister for internal affairs, tweeted about the woman's plight in Saudi Arabia.

'Chopping of hand of Indian lady - We are very much disturbed over the brutal manner in which Indian lady has been treated in Saudi Arabia,' she wrote.

It is thought Ms Munirathinam sought work in Saudi Arabia to help earn money for her husband and four children in India.

Indian foreign ministry spokesperson Vikas Swarup has spoken out against the attack on the Indian woman, telling the Indian Express that India had launched an investigation into the attack and will 'continue to seek justice for the victim'.

'Our embassy in Riyadh has taken up the matter with the Saudi Foreign Office and asked for strict action in the matter and severe punishment for the sponsor,' he said.

He said a case of attempted murder should be lodged against the sponsor 'so that he is punished, if found guilty as per law.'

Today I saw a great sight dozens of Sikhs were handing out free langar food to passersby who included muslim families amoung the crowed enjoying the free food.

and about 5mins walk away on the same high street I saw black Christian fundamentalist preachers the happy clappy bridges shouting down to the passersby that only jesus can save them and come to christianity to get saved. Not a care in the world for the homeless or actually giving something useful out to people but just selling their stupid abrahmic cult like the muslim morons with booklets and leafets detailing lectures they will be having.

Now if i was an atheist and I happended to be walking past 3 camps (1 Sikhs 2) Muslims 3) Christians. The first is offering free food and service to all humanity and the other 2 are saying everyone else is going to hell apart from their cult..... I know who I would rather listen to and that is exactly what was happening a good sized crowd around the Sikh stalls and hardly anyone going to the muslim or christian preachers.

This is how Sikhi parchar needs to be done langar + parchar and welcoming people into Sikhi because by helping people and making a difference in their lives will attract them become Sikhs and do sewa and parchar to other non-sikhs.

I think I told you about my experience in Dharamshala HP in 2014 , there was a Kashmiri Muslim running the shawl shop I visited as soon as he clapped eyes on me he was gushing forth about how wonderful SIkhs were, the reason? because when the floods hit J&K the Hindus abandoned them to their fate , the muslims weren't bothered either , the christians would only feed them or help if they converted , whereas the Sikhs saw them in need and helped seeing them as part of the human family. He said whatever I had spent he would double and donate to the sikh organisations that helped out . This the winning formula see the needy , look after the needy , tell them how Guru ji taught us all to be good humans .

One thing when Gursikhs say if you are muslim or hindu be good ones , this is not in terms of what they are taught by their mullas and pandits but the path that Guru ji outlined in Gurbani, teach them the true path of their faiths...
