Many people say that we have 11 or 12 Gurus. After thinking about it, these are the different forms of Guru Sahib that I could remember: Guru Nanak Dev Ji Guru Angad Dev Ji Guru Amar Das Ji Guru Ram Das Ji Guru Arjan Dev Ji Guru Hargobind Sahib Ji Guru Har Rai Sahib Ji Guru Har Krishan Sahib Ji Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib Ji Guru Gobind Singh Ji Guru Granth Sahib Ji Panj Pyare Guru Panth Khalsa If we look at the number it's 13, or Teraa (yours)!

Bhai Dilbagh & Gulbagh Singh are 2 gems from our history of classical kirtan performers. Their family have a great history behind them. During time of Sri Guru Hargobind Sahib Ji there was a Muslim family very talented in raag but living in poverty. They were surviving on donations people gave after hearing their music. Time came that they received darshan of 6th Guru Ji. After hearing of their poverty Guru Sahib provided a written copy of Asa Di Vaar and asked them to come and sing this bani the following morning. The family’s faith was such they went and memorised the bani then spent whole night practicing. After they performed kirtan, Guru Sahib gave bach…

This is something that has mulled me for a long time. Even though Ego is a vice and Humility is a virtue and you would think they are complete opposites and have nothing to do with each other. I have come to the realisation that these two are related to each other. I see them on a see-saw in that if one of these goes up, the other one goes down. However, I think the ego is another necessary vikaar (it does serve a function) because too much humility can make one like a doormat. These two need to be seen in their contexts and they need to be balanced like yin and yang.

waheguru ji ka khalsa waheguru ji ki fateh. I tried doing my own research but didnt manage to find my answer. my question is when was Satyug (what centry or age) and all the other ages? As we are in kalyug now and the next age will be sat yug again. Also, do we have the same view on the 4 ages as Hindus do. they believe that each age lasts 1250 years long. do we agree with this? thanks

The Sheikh Farid of gurbani is this man http://www.sikhiwiki.org/index.php/Sheikh_Brahm who descends on the spirtual throne of sheikh farid who came 200 years before guru nanak dev ji but sheikh brahm met guru nanak dev ji. But what kind of person was brahm, was he a true muslim doing his namaz following islam properly trying to give dawah to guru nanak with kitman and taquia holding back and acting tolerant? Or was he a sincere follower of guru nanak rejecting his previous throne? What context is his bani? Does guru ji supercede his bani or is he equal to guru nanak dev ji? If he is equal why not just follow brahm and not over burden ourselves with too many spiritual p…

I never posted on the Gurbani section. But I am going try something, if nobody wants to contribute that is OK. One of the aims of Gurbani is not only to connect yourself to Waheguru but it should be how you apply it in your day to day living. People have a lot of mental issues these days and I think that Gurbani can help a lot of people to get themselves straightened out. I wanted to focus on how you have handled Krodh and how Maharaj has helped in this regard. What's part of Bani has helped with this vice and how Gurbani has been applied.
