Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa, Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh I had one question regarding Chandi di Vaar. At end of it, it says 'And that person who sings it will not take birth again'. What did Guru Ji mean by this? Did Guru Ji mean that whoever recites will not go through reincarnation again? Sorry for my lack of knowledge, Thankyou

Anyone know where I can find historical chronicles on puraatan sikhs? Anything that the British or any other outsiders have written on puraatan sikhs, would be nice to read.

This book is out of print and hard to get hold of. I've seen it selling second hand for a small fortune in the past. Very useful to help build up vocabulary. https://www.scribd.com/doc/300210173/An-introduction-to-the-Sacred-Language-of-Sikhs-by-Christopher-Shackle

I've been looking at this recently. It's a very interesting extract from the Chaupa Singh Singh rehatnama as translated and published by Hew McLeod. If it is an accurate account, it suggests that Guru ji didn't expect all Sikhs to fight in war, deeming some unsuitable. I've not compared the translation to the original Panjabi text as given in McLeod's book yet. I'm posting both for people's inspection. I love reading, but unfortunately I just can't do it for prolonged periods in electronic form (ebooks, kindle, ipads etc.), and can't afford to print out the whole ebook at the moment hence I haven't read the book fully yet. Translation: Full book available here:…

I heard there is an early teeka by Jodh Singh on Japji Sahib. Anyone read it? How does it compare to Prof. Sahib Singh's? Can I get it online? Also I was wondering is anyone had a decent ecopy of Bhai Vir SIngh's Rana Surat Singh? Thanks for any help in advance. PS - Prof. Sahib Singh's autobiography would be nice too.....

When the ‘Wild’ proved more educated By Hema on February 19, 2010 When the British conquered Lahore in 1849, Lord Dalhousie, the Governor General, declared that he would educate the “wild illiterate Punjabis” in a new system of Anglo-Vernacular education.
