In Gurmat, we become aware of the Inmensity and majesty of Wahiguru. And moreover if ever we have to devote ourselves, that has to be only, and only Wahiguru Akal Purukh. Though there are many well known spiritual entities, gods, godesses, devtas, angels, which are worshipped by human beings at different places and in different dharams. But the fact is, at most one goes to their abodes for a temporary stay, then fall back into the creation. If one is bad or good by nature, worshipping these entities, will only make us get powers or boons, that is it. While on the other side, if we worship Wahiguru only, Fifth Patshahee in Raag Soohee, tells us in simple and plain w…

Waheguruji ka khalsa Waheguruji ki fateh ji Dear Sangat ji There have been a couple of posts enquiring about Keertan Notations. Therefore, I'd like to start a thread dedicated to keertan notations alone. Any notations in previous posts in other threads will be pasted here along with some others. One post will have a keertan notation for one shabad alone. If anyone would like to request notations for a particular shabad they wish to learn, please PM me or start another thread. I request anyone to refrain from any kind of discussions on this thread so we could keep it for notations alone. Thank you.

Taken from http://www.nihangsingh.org/blog/ Supreme servant of the Guru’s house, Bhai Nand Lal Singh Ji (1633-1713) spent many years at Sri Anandpur Sahib in the service of the holy charan of Guru Gobind Singh Ji. Bhai Nand Lal Ji, who wrote many beautiful hymns in the Persian language under the names “Goya” and “Lal” was praised by the Guru for his unflinching dedication in achieving union with Akaal Purkh and his dedication to Gurmat. In the year 1695 at the holy congregation at Sri Anandpur Sahib, Bhai Nand Lal Ji approached the master Guru Gobind Singh Ji while seated on his royal throne and asked Guru Sahib to please bless the sangat with the code of discipline fo…

Wjkk Wjkf Jeo, Before I even start posting this, I would like to mention that I am not a follower of Osho, nor I agree with anything that goes any Gurmat so please please do not slander. As sangat already knows, kathas by Gyani Thakur Singh Ji or Sant Singh Ji Maskeen comply 100% to Gurmat. The reason I am posting this is I saw an old thread where people have requested for this, also I feel there is no harm in listening to a non-sikh's view about Guru Nanak Dev Ji and his Bani. But still if mods/sangat thinks it is inappropriate then feel free to delete/lock this thread. Thanks --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------…

This was originally written by a member called 'Namstang' and is priceless. .....Going back to Naam now, there are many techniques how to do jaap of Shabad given to you by mahapursh in form of panj pyares, most of puratan samparda's give you shabad/Gurmantar in amrit sanchar but give you Naam jugti in a separate session alone - mahapursh and jagiaso. Also may i add it's not proper to say, i got naam amrit from others or mahapursh in form of panj pyares, panj pyares instill naam in you, you get shabad from panj pyares. Naam is inside us day we were in the womb. Naam is everywhere, exist in his creation: Gurbani says: Naunidh amrit prabh ka naam, dehi mein iskaa bisraam…

WJKK WJKF I believe this is my first post on this forum so please go easy. Just a bit of background before I go into my question. I am a 26 year old Sikh- born in India but moved overseas when I was young and just finished university in Australia. I used to eat eggs and meat but stopped before taking Amrit a few years back. I have not eaten any more meat or eggs since then and neither do I have any cravings to do so (just in case people try to say that is my motivation for starting this thread). Now this question is a result of having some discussions with some of my Australian friends who asked me why it is that I as a Sikh have chosen to refrain from eating eggs along…

Bebe Nanaki Ji Bebe Nanaki ji was elder sister of Guru Nanak and the daughter of Kalian Chand (Baba Kalu) and Mata Tripta, was born in 1464 in her mother's home at village of Chahal, now in Lahore district of Pakistan Punjab. The Guru's love for his sister is referred to in most touching terms in some of the Sakhis. A sister's love for her brother is a perennial theme of Punjabi folklore. There are many stories of Nanaki's deep and devoted affection for her brother, Nanak. Five years older then Guru Nanak, she was the first to recognize his spiritual eminence and to become his devotee. She protected Nanak from their father's wrath, when repeatedly he disappointed and a…

I was not going to say so , but after going through these , what is to say that Krishna isn't Akal Purakh Waheguru himself ?
