i was surffing through the web .. when i got to this poem... it touched me... so deeply.. i wanted to share it with the sangat... http://www.kavitanjali.com/poets2/conversa...tionwithgod.htm I heard a voice It spoke to me Of goodness climes And lighter lives I heard a voice This afternoon. It asked me whether I was me It asked me how I felt and charged no fee It asked me if it made me feel free It said it might be around for eternity. I heard a voice It made me feel Warm of heart And assuring arms I heard a voice This afternoon. It rang like the mellowness of a church bell It rang with sweetness and banished the death knell It rang with a longing of …

"Funny how......

"Funny how...... Funny how £10 looks so big when we take it to Gurdwara, but so small when we take it to the shop. Funny how long 1 hour is when serving in Gurdwara, but how short when watching T.V. Funny how laborious it is to ucharaan 1 ang of SRI GUROO GRANTH SAHIB JI, but how easy to read 200 pages of a best selling novel. Funny how we need 2 or 3 weeks to fit a Gurdwara program into our schedule, but have no problem adjusting for a social event at the last minute. Funny how we get thrilled when a football game goes into extra time, but are irritated when a Gurdwara program is longer than usual. Funny how we scrambel to get to the front row seat at a sporting…

WJKK WJKF I have had a question arise and would like to share with the Sadh Sangat. When we see someone with high Avasta, in good Sangat, following Sikhi, we say they must have done good Karams in a previous life. The same if someone has bad luck or things aren't going from them in this life we say the opposite. So where does this leave the materialistically wealthy but not spiritual? An example is a movie/ sports star. On the face you see that they are wealthy can buy anything they want, physically attractive, friends, fame etc, but not on a spiritual path. Would you say that they had good karma from their past lives to achieve a status of material wealth, or bad d…

Waheguru ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru ji ki Fateh ji, I thought of sharing this valubale knowledge, the importance of this shabad, as at the end of this shabad, Guru sahib has mentioned - eh shabad aad ant parhna. Why did Guru sahib wrote this? Sant Harnam Singh Rampurkherha had this question in mind and he asked this to Guru Sahib and he got the following answer- The meaning of this particular pankti is that this shabad should be recited at the begining and at the end of Nitnem and Guru Granth Sahib JI's path. The sequence goes like this. 1. "Gurdev Mata Gurdev Pita" shabad 2. Mool Manter - upto "Nanak Hosi Bhi Sach" 3. Nitnem or Guru sahib ji's path or any other kind of p…

Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa. Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh. This is a story that I heard a little while ago, and I would like to pass it on to those who haven't heard it. Please read it with full devotion. Thank-you. (i didn't write this one myself.) lol I Don't Want To Forget Him. Once, there was a couple who had just had a baby boy. They went to the Gurudwara to thank God for having a new baby. They also had a three year old daughter at the time of their sons birth. Their three year old daughter would ask the parents every single day if she could be alone with the baby. The parents said "No." because they worried that their daughter would accidentally harm their newly …

Complaining is born from duality. Remaining separated from the Lord i attach my consciousness with material or transitory things. Things which aren't permanent. Family, friends, other people, cars, houses, money, reputation, as well as more direct things like the body Akaal Purakh ji has provided as a vessel for the soul. These are only temporary. i complain because i look around at what others have and do ardaas please WaheGuruu give me this temporary thing instead of asking for Naam and the ability to continue to jap Naam. Entire economies are run on the premise that people have unlimited wants - why? because many people like me are far from the Lord. once He grants His…

"I" In The House Of Nanak "I" In The House Of Nanak You may know it or not, but "I" is very important to you. What should be important to you is the One who gave you this "I". You have two eyes. Do you know who gave them to you and with what purpose? Eh netryo meryo tum meh jot dhare Har bin avar na dekhoo koee. Oh, my eyes. See without God nothing else. (Guru Amar Das, pg 922) You have two ears. Eh sravno meryo sachai sunnai no pathaaey. Oh, my ears. You have been sent there to listen to nothing but truth. (Guru Amar Das, pg 922) "Pathaaey" means you have been commissioned. Deh nimaani liveh baajo kiaa karey veychaareea. This body, without soul.…

"Jot~Saroop" versus "Chanchal~Mun" : Conscience versus Intellect. Waheguru ji ka Khalsa, Waheguru ji ki Fateh. In my humble opinion, "conscience" represents our innate~nature or soul~consciousness, and "intellect" leads us to our words and deeds. Intellect is the result of the "fickle~mind" (chanchal mun). WE must control the intellect. "We" refers to the innate~nature (replete with Divine attributes). "We" indicates how God desired us to be : pure and honest, uncorrupted / unaffected by vices. "We" means the child~like innocence which was given to us by The Creator, but which was later corrupted by external influences and internal vices. "We" = the image of God, p…
