Early schooling of young Gobind Rai was done at Patna. Guru Sahib Ji’s compositions are mainly written in the literary language of this area. He studied not only the Bihari language but also Sanskrit, Persian and Arabic. Before Guru Sahib Ji left Patna, he was a noted as a great marksman whose arrows never missed their target. Hi people, im new to this site. I have been amritdhari for a long time now but I have never really been comfortable with it. The main reason is because of my appearance...i dont feel confident having a long dhari and I am just not the same confident person i used to be. everytime i leave the house and walk down the street i am soo consious about how i look and i find that even when im talkin to people im thinkin about how i look to them. I kno it might seem very vain but im struggling with it and i always have been. if i was to cut my dhari then i wud still do my paath and do all the things that i love about sikhi but the only thing that wud be diferent wud be that i t…

Forty kilos of weapons and armour they adorned. Dressed alike were young and old women. They were strong, powerful and of great charity. Some wore dress of women. Five dressed like men [i.e. in full warrior dress]. Getting Singh and Singhnias ready thus. Sending one Sirdar with them, the Singhnia set off towards the royal palace. Bani referes to Mind at at many places. I have following questions that the honorable members may like to advise on. 1.What exactly is this mind? 2.Is it tangible or intangible? 3.What happens to mind when we die? 4.What is its seat in our body or otherwise.? 5.How Simran goes with us in the next life? It should be thru. the mind or the soul? 6.Does mind also die with the physical death? 7. Are we born with the mind that we leave behind after the death? Kindly support your answers with bani's quote and I shall be highly oblidged. Regards to all.

A Sikh once came into the darbar of Satguru Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji Maharaj asked this question, "O True Emperor, holy men have risen above worldly attachment. By what thought are they aided? Attachment is a very chronic ailment of mankind. By what method have they risen above this? Please, be kind and explain it to us." "I will tell you the way the saints have conquered attachment to the world. They regard the material possessions as a dream. Just as what you see in a dream, does not exist when you wake up, in the same way saints have woken up to the real knowledge (gyan). All objects of the world appear to be transient to them," explained Maharaj. Satguru Sri Guru G…
