waheguru ji ka khalsa whaeguru ji ki fateh I have read a little about sant bhindranwale, I've read mark tully/satish jacob's "Amritsar - Mrs Gandhi's last battle" and "the punjab story", I see that either authors don't appreciate santji, and after listening to his interviews posted at santsoldiers.net i get a better look at both sides of the coin, but i want to know what all people out here think of him, do u think he is justified in his actions, for example he mentions the hijacking undertaken by bhai gajinder and his companions, such an action .... hijacking a plance full of innocent ppl, is not justified and is something the guru's never taught us. we all know …

Epics of Bhai Gurdas English Adaptation by Pritpal Singh Bindra Epic One - Wreath of Knowledge -:One:- (I) Obeisance to Gurdev (Guru Nanak), (who) endowed He the Celestial True Name of Satnam. By detaching from the mundane ocean, (one) enjoys the essence of redemption. (When) anxieties of life and death are gone, all doubts, alienation and ailments are eliminated. In doubt the world is drenched, and it is afflicted by the whirl of life and death. Angel of death hovers over the head as the mischievous egocentric ravages his precious birth. By gaining the touch of Gurdev's feet, the Celestial Word emancipates. Celebrate the Guru's sacred day with devotional love, …

There are two powers that alone can effect in their conjunction the great and difficult thing which is the aim of our endeavour, a fixed and unfailing aspiration that calls from below and a supreme Grace from above that answers. But the supreme Grace will act only in the conditions of the Light and the Truth; it will not act in conditions laid upon it by the Falsehood and the Ignorance. For if it were to yield to the demands of the Falsehood, it would defeat its own purpose. These are the conditions of the Light and Truth, the sole conditions under which the highest Force will descend; and it is only the very highest supramental Force descending from above and opening f…

Wahiguru Ji Ka Khalsa Wahiguru Ji Ki Fateh Well I am just here generally to find out the views and opinions of my fellow brothers and sisters on whether we should consider reading english (or what ever language one best understands) gurbani. A lot of the time I tend to pick out phrases of gurbani and have a faint or near accurate understanding of the meaning of that verse. Also a lot of the time I tend to read gurbani and not understand a single word of it. This effectively causes me to loose focus on what I am reading. Then I always ask my self that "PAATH" is a prayer to GOD. Then if I am praying to GOD whilst thinking of other things, then this must mean my prayers…

http://allaboutsikhs.com/articles/art-056.htm by Dr. Kuldeep Singh To understand the ethos of the Khalsa Panth brought to a grand finale by Guru Gobind Singhji it would help us to recall and analyse the first triumph of the Khalsa in 1704. At the Vaisakhi of 1699 Guruji had sent message all over for one year that Sikhs should gather in large numbers. He introduced the “Baptismal of the Sword” (Khanda) i.e. Pahul Khandedhar. The Persian historian and scribe, Ghulam Muhiud-Din sent Aurangzeb a copy of the Guru’s sermon : “Let all embrace one creed and obliterate difference of religion. Let the four Hindu castes who have different rules for their guidance abandon them al…

SORRY this should have been posted in the Literature section but i forgot From the site: This servant is eternally grateful to the Almighty Vaheguru and to Satguru Jee Maharaaj for His benevolent support to produce and distribute this latest series of the ‘Spiritual Strength of Women.’ Before starting this series, I prayed to the Giver of Givers, the Benevolent Provider of unlimited qualities, Akal Purakh to bestow upon this moorakh the effort to complete this series successfully. The reason for making this compilation of stories and accounts of our historical Sikh women is so that the present day Sikh women can understand and realise for themselves the depth of Sikh…
