http://www.hindustantimes.com/news/5922_72...02000000073.htm Duped, Sikh converts to Islam ‘for survival’ HT Correspondent Amritsar, May 2 A YOUTH who mortgaged his house, sold valuables and paid Rs 5 lakh to a travel agent to fulfil his dream of a job in Greece only to end up in a Pakistani jail and convert to Islam “for survival”, has written to the Head Granthi of Gurdwara Nankana Sahib seeking shelter. Pargat Singh left Hoshiarpur in August last year after selling the family’s ornaments, mortgaging his house and paying nearly Rs 5 lakh to a travel agent to make it to a decent job in Greece and supplement the family’s income. GuruFatehJi. Rajvir wrote on Sikhnet: 'This is a link to a BBC article in which people from across India were asked what they would do if made Prime Ministe. The thing that really caught my attention was the appearance of each of the individuals compared to the Singh. Take a look yourself and you'll know what I mean. Our God given appearance is truly majestic and beautiful, given that one knows how to manage it. As Singhs, we don't have to shout our faith and values, they literally shine through. I know we all aren't given the 'desirable' features ( i.e. sharp nose, fair skin, straight teeth), but we each still have our God given beauty, which doesn't need to be deforme…

Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!! Dear Sangat, I have little doubt. The quote Raj Karega Khalsa Aki Rahe na koye" whose quote is this?? Initially I thought it was by Guru Gobind Singh Ji Mahraaj but once when i was in hazoor sahib there in a small gurdwara nearby which is run by nihung singhs had full quote which also has this line pasted on front wall and it said it was by Guru Nanak Dev ji Maharaaj. Then I asked this question on sikhnet long back but noone responded. Now yesterday I was listening to Sant Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale's viakhya of Gurbani and in that he mentioned this quote is by Guru Nanak Dev Ji Maharaaj. So two sources (Nihung Singhs Gu…

I posted here a while ago about my situation of converting. im still standing strong on it and ive been doing alot of research and i know that i am doing the right thing. i had a question though, i hope it doesnt offend anyone. If you, as sikhs, are not supposed to eat meat, then why was it accepted that Guru Gobind Singh Ji was a great hunter. im not looking in any way of making it look like eating meat is right, i know its wrong. in fact i've been vegan for almost 3 months now. I saw a video on the horrors of factory farms and the pain and suffereing that these animals go through and it totally changed me. so i would appreciate it if you could answer this.

Hi in some ways i have learnt from this site especially the humbelness of bhai kulpreet singh, rochak, bunga singh ji and many of you who made me feel welcome on this site singh ( i think vicky) from california. As well as the rest of you even when i disagreed directly on many points yet still you had the decency to respond back in a well mannered approach. A big thank you to the moderator who allowed me to talk freely here. I am not a patient person i do not like the way some people write on here especially when it comes to religion ive thought long and hard i cant be jacked coming to the same level. There is an atmosphere with a level of ignorance and subtle h…
