Whom To Marry ? 1 2
by Guest Guest- 13 replies
- 2.5k views
Can the Sikh Sangat give their HONEST opinion. Should an Amritdhari guy marry a (Patit or Kurehatia) Amritdhari girl (with or without dastaar) OR Non-Amritdhari girl. Reason being what's the point in marrying a FAKE, who has taken Amrit but still removes hair from her body. Isn't it better to marry a Non-Amritdhari girl who is atleast honest and doesnot pretend. Hope your replies provide solution to this Fundamental problem.

Why , Why Are We So Separated 1 2 3
by Guest _singhnee_- 24 replies

Why, why is the Panth so separated Why do we fight over small things Why can't we embrace each other Why can't we ignore each other's opinions on 'controversial' topics Nothing was ever controversial We invented controversy ourselves... We are maha moorakhs... Look at Puratan Singhs, DhanDhan Bhai Mani Singh Ji, being hacked with a sharp knife slowly and painfully at every single joint, finger tip, joint, half of finger, finger is off... Then to the next finger.. Then the hand is off, then up the arm, elbow is cut off, no left arm anymore.. Waheguru, and the next thumb, then index finger, all the joints, middle finger, etc... Honestly.. I can't believe how mahaan …

feminism Why am i a form of hatred?
by Guest Sikho te Jaago- 2 replies

Hello, I am a Sikh, or at least i think i am. I followed Guru Nanak all the way. I followed the 10 teachers who never taught hatred, but when the last teacher trusted us to carry on our own, i found hatred as my companion in all the upcoming years. I cannot bear someone arguing with me. I cannot be a SIKH who learns, teaches, inner peace. I am tinier than the tinniest particle when compared to the vast universe around me. My gurus showed me the scope of things but i chose to be arrogant and full of ego ignoring my small place in the universe. This could have stopped me from actually expanding my position in the cosmos. My people [correction: All people] faced adversities …

Why Are Amritdharis Encouraging Me To Trim/Shave My Armpits? 1 2
by Guest confusedaswat- 12 replies
- 6.4k views
hello all. I am a Keshdhari Sikh, 20 years old. I have an INSANE (lol) amount of arm pit hair. I was in India, and I decided to wear a sleeveless shirt. All of the babas who were Amritdhari told me to shave or trim my arm pit hair as they thought it was kind of off putting.. I haven't told my parents about this, as they are Amritdhari and I know they would probably get mad at the people who told me to do this. Why would Amritdharis suggest this.... is it not against our religion to cut any hairs? Note I really have no desire to get rid of my arm pit hair, just made me wonder if a Keshdhari Sikh who isn't Amrtidhari is commiting a paap by trimming his arm pit hair.

Why are Deras succeeding so much? 1 2
by Guest Sant Nicholas Das- 14 replies

Why are Deras seeing so much success in Punjab? My family particularly has been going to a small dera for generations and having recently gone back to Punjab, I've seen so much anti-gurmat things at these kind of places. I especially noticed that the Radha Soami dera leader has immense influence in the Doaba region. I see his photo in every other house/shop. Is there rise in power correlated to Sikhi getting weaker? Are there any ways to combat Deras in a non-Taliban approach? Lol. Is there a way to make the people understand and critically think why their supporting these Deras rather than going towards Sikhi? I've personally tried to point out the anti-gurmat ways of th…

Shame on khalistani who support Pakistan and isi. Sikh population in Pakistan is being decimated and we refuse to speak up. Our daughters and sisters are being abducted and forcibly converted to islam. Shame on us. https://m.timesofindia.com/india/pak-suppress-voice-of-sikhs-after-kidnapping-and-forced-conversion-of-a-minor-girl-in-nankana-sahib/articleshow/70896124.cms

First of all I apologise if I have put this in the wrong section, as I thought it was suited here. I'm not judging anyone it's not my place, also I'm not talking about particular individuals I'm just talking about society overall. particlarly the MALE society, (I'm not discriminating) just stating opinions forgive me if I say anythig wrong. Over the years you hear bad things happen to others or bad things that happen in the Gurdwara and beadbi to Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji and the more I realised that most of the crimes are committed by MEN. Yet I know religion sees men and women equal, why then do we still have issues within our community that men are inferior, when it's…

Why Are Rules For Covering Heads In Gurdwareh Now Relaxed? 1 2
by Guest Sikhiseeker- 17 replies

Wjkk, wjkf Sadh sangat ji, I wanted to raise this topic to see if it's just not me noticing that in many many gurdwareh across the uk, children in paticilar are able to run round freely without covering their heads in the presence of Shiri Guru Granth Marajh Ji. Surely parents should make sure their children have their heads covered as a child is simply innocent if they dont know, also we as parents make sure our children wear school uniforms, should we not insist that the rule should be implemented in the gurdwara too? As how then is a child meant to respect the Guru Granth Sahib Ji in later life, when the most basic head covering rule is relaxed? I have three young chi…

Why are sikh orgs defaming NKJ? 1 2
by Guest FalseAllegationsExpo- 12 replies

Wjkk wjkf. My family don’t talk to me because they believe some false allegations about my baba ji. Baba ji told me to convince my family to stay with the jatha. Why would they do that if they didn’t care about family? My family just don’t see it they just ain’t having it. How can I convince them to stay in the jatha with me? The only way they can be close with the guru is the jatha. I don’t care what anyone says to defame sikhi. I can’t believe that other organisations are also trying to defame the jatha just ridiculous.
