Hi all, Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh little background to provide context, I was mona and clean shaven my whole life but began keeping kesh around 7/8 years ago at the age of 24 I believe, I wasn’t wearing a dastar and was rolling around with a high bun like it was for fashion, a few years in I began trimming my beard and continued like this for a few years but recently I have stopped doing this and my beard is quite long and has the natural look now. I don’t do paath or nitnem all I do is listen to kirtan and paath at the moment. Since I became keshdari again I decided to practice rehit by wearing panj kakkars so have been doing this for the past …

Deist Sikhs and an experiment on prayer

WJKK WJKF I was scrolling through the sikh reddit the other day and found this So... a bit weird isn't it? I have been watching this man's podcast and it quite honestly makes a lot of sense, except when it doesn't. From a previous question to the sangat, I came to the informed conclusion from Gurbani that Reincarnation is a state of mind as well as an actual occurance, and that is one thing I will have to take on faith. But this seems quiet odd, knowing that a literal study on prayer has been published and it has results that were negative. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Efficacy_of_prayer I read this wikipedia ar…

The time is coming.

Khalsa ji, I believe the time of the incarnation of Kalki Avtar may be coming soon, or maybe we are transitioning into ghor Kaljug. https://youtu.be/Ast2BXMQMU8 I don’t mean to cause you distress, but if you are not prepared with atleast a good tent, water purification system, and Shastar, please get them soon. Not saying it’s a good idea to go into a tent and live out in the wild after a nuclear disaster though. I assume most of us atleast have a month’s worth of daal, but get milk powder and rice as well. I am not fully prepared and will try to find these items as well as books on foraging, as I have been oblivious to the importance of preparedness. Wa…

Vaheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Vaheguru Ji ki Fateh Note: I will not answer any replies. So this issue really killed my nerves.I ts about the Singh AND Kaur, worldwide, but mostly from India, which date/try to make relationships through chatting on Instagram. About two or three years ago, I was using Instagram (Kaal) like many people do. I OFTEN got text messages of "AMRITDHAARI" (looking?) Singh's, which tried to build a relationship with me. I sometimes replied to some. After doing some normal chit chat, They said things like I love you, stay with me etc ...There were times where I got into it. Because I hadn't the Sojhi, and Sumat, which satguru Ji ga…

Questions about BJJ and other martial arts and sikhi

VJKK VJKF I am planning on enrolling in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu classes soon. I have a few questions about how I could enrol while planning on taking Amrit. How would I keep rehit of the kakkars while practising my skills without hurting my opponent in the gym? Back when I was younger I enrolled in Taekwondo and they usually told me to take off my kara so I would not hurt my opponent while sparring. Currently my only solution is keeping my kara and a small kard or kirpan in my Kes, but this also raises another question. If I tied a normal or commando style patka, they are quite stable, but my kakkars would probably rip the cloth. I’m not going to wear a Dumala unles…

With dasvandh, do you deduct it from gross or net pay. If you deduct from take home pay, then is it 10% from your net pay after taking out rent, mortgage, bills etc?

How does one get out of suffering from the consequences of slander

Dear piyaare Sangat Jeeo I have a humble request to ask - how does one get out of suffering the consequences of slandering a saint. My background and story is complicated and so I will try to explain it in as much detail as possible in hopes that someone can help me. I am a 26 years old male who has been trying to practice sikhi, since as long as I can remember as a child. Since the start of this janam I have came into this world with a deaf ear (left ear). I suffer from mild to moderate hearing in my only functioning ear (right). This has lead me to believe that I may have slandered people in the past (possibly even a saint) to get this punishmen…

Sikh Channel
by Guest Gupt- 1 reply

We've seen over the passed few days an appeal to keep Sikh Channel functioning and for people to set up direct debits as a way of contributing/sewa. As with everything we do, we should do some due diligence checks before parting with any money. Mr Davinder Singh Bal's records at Companies House and the Solicitors Regulation Authority show he has a potted history of being involved in companies that have gone into liquidation. Kam (the presenter and person named as in charge) doesn't appear on Companies House as a director of Sikh Channel CIC. It's all well and good to support Sikh ventures but one should be mindful of what's actually going on and is Sikh Channel…

How to prove to myself god exists
by Guest DumbIdiotBanda- 2 replies

VJKK VJKF Sangat Ji, I apologize for the amount of posting I have been doing and realize its probably getting annoying, but I have just one massive issue that I need to resolve before signing off for a month or so. How the hell do I prove to myself god is real?? As mentioned the Help with Kaam Post I had a run in with Atheism a while ago and the color it stained me just wont rub off. This uncertainty is getting me nervous and I don't know how to stop it. I had a point where my nitnem was regular with lots of kirtan added and that was absolute Chardikala but I became too lenient and started loosing my fear of god. If anyone on this forum is an Ex Atheist please…
