Questions about new Sikhs
by Guest Guest Sikh- 1 reply

Just out of curiosity, I have a few questions about new Sikhs When a person who is not born into a Sikh family decides to believe in Sikhi, do they have to take Amrit to be considered a "Sikh". So non-Amritdhari/Monay Punjabi-Sikhs get married in Gurdwara's, but can a non-Amritdhari & non-Punjabi Sikh also get married in a Gurdwara? If a person from a non-Punjabi/Sikh family background starts believing in Sikhi, but don't want to take Amrit yet, how do they officially "convert".

vaheguru ji ka khalsa, vaheguru ji ke fateh sangat ji! With mahraj's kirpa, i've been 23 days strong doing sukhmani sahib paath but i have made many mistakes along the way. being a uni student, sometimes i dont start my sukhmani sahib until 11 at night and end up finishing at 12;20am...my question is that does that sukhmani sahib paath "count" for the day i started it or does it "count" for the next day? also, what should i do once i have finished my 40 days (with God's Grace)...with God's Grace, I want to continue doing sukhmani sahib paath everyday, past the 40 days. i have made many many mistakes....sometimes, i'm doing paath while doing other work (ipod) and at times,…

Are namdhari allowed to do kirtan on gurdwara stages? did akaal thakat not ban this? If they are banned from doing kirtan why are gurdwara still inviting namdharis to do kirtan?

I won't paste a photo of mine because mine is just a little one (as the vicar said to the choirboy), but, the 'Sikh Bodybuilder, whoever he is, definitely has enough 'go faster' stripes on his car to enable him to go very fast indeed and also just enough to enable him to enter the first class knob category:

This is quite long so I really appreciate you for spending your time reading. Maybe this is just me getting things off my chest but then again its probably a cry for help i dont even know. Grew up keshdari but never knew anything about Sikhi till like feb2016, up until that point it was just about drinking, drugs, girls etc, and in Jan2016 i cut my kesh for the first time. I liked it because for once i felt no restriction, like i could now live a life thaf id only seen my friends living. But then I found out about sikhi in Feb2016 a month after i cut my hair and it absolutely changed my view on life because i had an experience doin simran and found a new way to get h…

I have been Told by a singh who is currently in India that the military have blocked anyone entering the mandir where kalki avtar is to become pargat... which is mentioned in dasam granth and sau sakhi.... Apparently there is a vibration being heard coming out the mandir and a voice can be heard asking for a pooran sadhu to come and give jal da bheta(give water) Can anyone confirm this?

Sister-in-law believes pakhandi babe and pandit
by Guest Gupt sad- 3 replies

Sat Sri Akal everyone, I'm writing to you all because the situation at home is now unbearable. My elder brother was married to a girl, it didn't go on well between the two and they got a divorce. My younger brother got married to a girl (from India) and she came at home abroad just a year ago. The issue is that she, and her mother, go to pandits and pakhandi babe. We did not know that. Any issue happens, they go see the pandit, someone fell off the scooter --> they go ask the pandit why. And whatever the pandit says (put a coconut during 9 days in some place etc, avoid eating garlic etc) they listen. My sis in law suffered from some allerg…

Have I been an ungrateful person towards my organization and my boss ? feeling guilty

Waheguru ji ka Khalsa Waheguru ji ki fateh So I stay in India, and have been working in this organization as a software engineer for around more than 7 years now. The org is somewhat small , with around 150 people I think at most. It has felt really comfortable working with these guys. They're decently nice guys, atleast the boss I interacted with the most (he's director and cofounder of the org). I remember this job was a miracle from waheguru ji. I got it when I needed it the most. And a miracle had happened at that time. HR manager had kind of rejected me in the final round as he had better candidates, then this director guy had for some reason taken c…

If i stay up late in night and do simran, does that count as amritvela, or do i actually have to sleep and wake up and do simran for it to count as amrivela. Staying up till 12:30 or 1 am count as amritvela doing simran?
