Eradicate terrorist supporting ideolgies
by Guest Ban Terrorism- 0 replies

Why is this terrorist attack in Sri Lanka (on the pretext of revenge) a surprise - given that the Prophet Muhammad himself murdered 900-1000 innocent people in one day in the systematic Genocide of the Banu Qurayza tribe. The only peaceful credentials shown by the merciful Prophet of Islam were that he sold the women and children into slavery for financial profit and kindly kept a few of the best looking women (whose fathers, husbands and brothers he had murdered) as personal sex slaves (since the rape of female sex slaves is permitted in the Holy Quran).

Sikh Channel

We've seen over the passed few days an appeal to keep Sikh Channel functioning and for people to set up direct debits as a way of contributing/sewa. As with everything we do, we should do some due diligence checks before parting with any money. Mr Davinder Singh Bal's records at Companies House and the Solicitors Regulation Authority show he has a potted history of being involved in companies that have gone into liquidation. Kam (the presenter and person named as in charge) doesn't appear on Companies House as a director of Sikh Channel CIC. It's all well and good to support Sikh ventures but one should be mindful of what's actually going on and is Sikh Channel…

Is it okay for an amritdhari to wear a helmet over a patch (Bandana style). I sometimes need to when I goto construction site and or ride my bike. Do the dal panth maryadas allow this?

?♀️ I need some advice please. I am getting married in May next year. We have booked the gurdwara and are now deciding on the reception. Initially I have always thought to myself I wouldn’t mind not having a reception, this is just because I don’t like too much fuss (and don’t understand why I would spend so much on feeding people I am not necessarily close with). But as the wedding talk has started, now I am getting excited and have thought actually I don’t want to miss out and regret not having a reception, instead we could have a smaller reception and invite close family and friends only. The problem is of course this is not just up to me and my fiancé, no…

Do the ideas of Nations & Borders fit in a Sikh framework?
by Guest Guest Singh- 0 replies

Waheguru ji ka khalsa, Waheguru ji ki fateh! Sangat ji I have had this kinda weird thought for quite some time. I just don't believe in the idea on nations and borders. After all it's all politics. I believe they are a by-product of cultures. But Sikhi teaches to recognise the entire human race as one and the same irrespective of religion, ethnicity, race and color, and in doing so to live with peace and harmony with everyone. So IDEALLY, there would be no need for borders if everyone lives peacefully. (This has led me to not feel any sort of "nationality" for the country I live in, but that's a whole another issue) I know Utopia does not exist, but I'm almost i…

A Tale of Two Beards - Beard Thread Number 3
by Guest Jigsaw_Puzzled_Singh- 0 replies

Take 2 threads about beards. Add number 1 and number 2 together and you get 3. This is beard thread number 3. Beard Thread Number 1 was written a few weeks ago. Has no replies and about 80 views. It was designed to get people thinking about the thing that actually makes Sikhs most recognisable in the world. It got one person thinking. But rather than thinking intellectually it got him thinking about beard wax. So much so that, about a week later, he started a brand new thread about beards, i.e. Beard Thread Number 2. Beard Thread Number 2 is about how to curl moustaches and beards. The Indians have a national stereotype of Sikhs as low intellectual jokers and singe…
