I am a 38 year old amritdhari male. My life was going fine but few years back I suffered from psychotic depression and started taking anti psychotic medicine daily which made me lazy and started sleeping 9 hours a day and couldn't get up at amritvela. Than I got married and didn't tell my wife about my illness and medicine. Finally she got to know about my mental illness and told me that I cheated her. Some time back, we got divorced. At present I feel sad and guilty that I shud hv told her about my illness. I feel like I will be punished by God and hv to come again in reincarnation.

just a little info about me I am a girl and currently i am 17 years old. I took amrit at the age of 13/14. I was going to start 8th grade. 2 years back we went to india and i saw my cousin older than me by 1 year had amrit and his 7 year old sister also had amrit. I wanted to take amrit after seeing them because all the adults were proud of them and I wanted adults to be proud of me as well. Fast forward back into 8th grade my gurudawara was holding amrit sanchaar. I begged my parents to let me take amrit and i desperately wanted to take amrit. Before taking amrit my dad told me I had to start wearing a chuni at home and everywhere so I did. I did not practice doing Nitne…

born-again Sikhs. 1 2

Do you find that born again Sikhs who have always cut their hair, and lived a secular lifestyle who then suddenly without warning took Amrit Sanchar, are more religious and outspoken then other Sikhs? Meaning that they constantly preach to others how they should be living their life.

Are Sikhs allowed to wear jewellery? Many photos and art show Sikhs from the 19th and early 20th century wearing jewellery so why is it discouraged today?

Hi loves, As I get older, the thoughts of marriage can’t seem to stop going away. Unfortunately even though I’m Punjabi and a Sikh (still trying to become the best Sikh I could possibly be) I don’t come from a normal Sikh family. We don’t really have contact with our family and my mum is a single mother. My mum is also not religious and she doesn’t care who I marry. We’re also not in a good financial situation. I’m wondering how can I possibly find a Sikh man who can look past that? Because as we know family is quite important in Sikhi. I’ve talked to white men before and a lot of them have liked me and expressed interest in me but whenever I bring up Sikhi the…

So last night I had a really "bad" dream. I kept having flashes of the Golden Temple and other objects that I wasnt really familiar with. But in the background there was a voice that seemed so angry and he was speaking to me in pure punjabi. Im not fluent in punjabi so I didnt understand what he was saying but I remember he was shouting in a raised tone and I was really scared. At the end of the dream was my mum laying in front of me on the floor in my bedroom with her eyes wide open. I thought dreaming of the Golden Temple is some kind of good sign but the ending of my dream im confused with????

by Guest Anon- 16 replies

WJKK WJKF It's been brought to my attention that there is an interfaith marriage that is due to take place in a well known London Gurdwara. I want to know what council or group I can report this to so they can initiate preventative action against this Gurdwara that has sold Sikh values for money. Please respond with the highest impact factor groups who can influence this from not going ahead in Gurus house. WJKK WJKF

One of the muslim individual is a Japanese born girl, and she's always asking questions about religious matters, especially to the Sikh girls and they talk for hours and even join in their fast breaking meals at the restaurent and at work. Yes, they are all adults but I am just worried for some reason I can't explain. How can I tell my friends to be careful? Becasue they showed m…
