I've been reading this blog lately. I find it really interesting, partially because it appears that the writer grew up in the same generation as me in the U.K., but also because of the broad, (very pertinent!) discussion taking place. I read a book of selected translations of bani by the author (as well as Christopher Shackle) many years ago, which I thought was refreshing. The way the author (in the blog) juxtapositions and compares experiences of racism in the US (where he now resides and works as a teacher), and deep rooted inequalities in India makes it a compelling read. So. I've been working about 72 hours a week, doing nonstop labor, and I commute, so lately I only have a few hours to sleep and do everything I need to feed myself for the next day. We work so nonstop, with such little time for water, that your stomach can't even really accept food but it must or you'll just starve. Sangat Ji. Please. What goodness do you put in your crockpots, that is nourishing and easy on the stomach or to eat if you have no appetite? Any recipe is so welcome, especially dhal and channa. Also what sort of sabji and dressing could I make out of frozen veggies so it thaws by lunch?

'Bulli Bai' is a website that purported to offer Muslim women for 'sale', the second time in less than a year that a fake online auction of this kind has sparked outrage in India. The website was created on GitHub, an American coding platform which developers use to build and host software. This time the app's major language is Punjabi and a turban logo. I have a pal, whose just piled on weight to morbidly obese proportions over a couple years after getting married. Before getting hitched we trained together and he got trim. Is fat shaming okay in these circumstances? When I've approached the topic subtly, he's reacted flippantly. Is it now okay to be more straight up?
