I don't understand the logic. This is a forum. I have never seen this type of thing anywhere else. A thread is created, people give their opinions, and it slowly fades away. What's the need to lock it? I think the mods need to look at the definition of "discussion forum". For example, in the thread crested by only five about Snatam Kaur, we have our opinions, back and forth, and in the last post someone wrote a negative thing about her not being a Sikh, and then BAM! Thread locked. Why? If the reason is because nindia is being done, then why not erase the whole thing? Why leave the thread un-touched and just lock it? Makes no sense. This forum is changing over the years..…

Keeping it nice and sharp... Why the hell do we always fight on SikhSangat.com? Firstly, we point fingers at AKJ - AKJ don't support Dasam Granth, what can we do? Lets say if one gets anand listening to AKJ doing kirtan, and finally decides to take amrit, because of there way of kirtan, should we call them bad? Secondly, if Baba ranjit singh dhadrianwale, does parchar, and makes people take amrit, should we call him bad? and make songs about him, red light on a car? Thirdly, we are currently fighting about Sant Jarnail Singh Ji's shaheedi... did you know when Sant ji was in Taksaal, if someone didnt agree with his views, he used to not talk with them, thats the worst …

Why do we have random memories from years ago, especially our childhood? most of the time irrelevant stuff. For example, I have this random memory from around 20 years ago of seeing a dead crow. It crossed my mind again today. I must have been like 7/8 years old, maybe younger. I clearly remember it as if it only happened a few years back. My mama/mami from Birmingham were around, and my family and mama/mami decided to walk to another relatives house who lives like a 10 min walk from our house. I clearly remember it was in the evening, it was getting dusky, and we crossed the busy road to the other side, and that's where I saw the dead crow! on the pavement, it was…

Why do some amrithdhari sikhs prefer to become mona sikh. I can understand those who go to gulf for work since its radical islamic union. I find it very strange since abroad people fight lawsuits to protect their distinct identity(Turban). Why such phenomenon in India then....? Pls some member throw some light on this?

alot of sikhs hate gill, but there has never been a proper record or document showing what exactly he has done. i guess most of the people hate him due to rumours, i think we need to get facts or make documented cases or files against people who commit crime against innocent people. i mean every where i go i hear gill this gill that, im sure if he was that bad he wouldnt be a hockey manager , i mean all the sikh nowdays in india love him, i just think its poeple out of india trying to stir trouble, unless people can show me facts or even documented allegations, all i seem to be hearing is gill is bad , thats the furtherest anyone can answer me, so if he was that bad im su…

What difference does it make if we Sikhs get our own Khalistan or don't? How does it affect our service to the Lord? How does it change who we are as individuals and what we do to make this world a better place? How will our own national border serve to make us better human beings? Guru Nanak Dev Ji traversed the entire borderless subcontinent; his message was simple: We are all brothers and sisters, sons and daughters of the Almighty. The entire essence of Sikhism begins and ends with that notion. Each Guru who gave their life was upholding only this underlying principle. The concept of Khalistan, in my opinion, serves to undermine this principle of brotherhood …

On the BBC Asian Network Sonia Deol discusses the issue of why girls don't find Sikh turbaned men attractive. Not surprisingly a lot of the women on the show had shallow attitudes and this programme gives the international sangat an indication of the state of Sikh women here in the UK. However what I DID find very surprising is when a Soolha phoned in and stated he was dating a Sikh Amritdhari turbaned woman, and had been dating her for 4 years! :6 To download this programme click here: http://www.sikhsangat.com/index.php?showto...st&p=399257
