According to the government calender, the martyrdom day was on June 4 and the state government had declared it a holiday. Because of initial confusion, people who had already made preparations observed it on June 4 but the scale of participation of people clearly indicated that now onwards people would celebrate Sikh festivals including ‘‘Gurpurabs'' according to the Nanakshahi Calendar. The Nanakshahi Calendar has already been adopted …

Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!! I always wonder why Indira Gandhi kept Sikh bodyguard even thought she knew that they would have hostility towards her and it could be dangerous for her? I'm always curious to know the truth? Was she out of her mind? I mean as you can see every Khalistan supporter tells that she hated Sikhs then why she kept two Sikh body guard even after blue star? Also, why she had Sikh body guards though? Let me know your feedback?

Well, I don't see Sikhs hating Hindus or Hindu hating Sikhs in regular life. All this propaganda is spreading because of GOI and RSS. They are just power hungry Dogs. I see the same in Sikh leaders as well. I was wondering that what my Khalistani brothers think of this relation? Should we hate all Hindus because some of the corrupt Government leaders did injustice to Sikhs? Or we should hate the ones are corrupt? I don't see any reference in our history of Sikhs, where it says that if few ppl from the community have done injustice to you then hate the whole community? Are we following Islam? Kill the Kafir/infidels? Also, why are we forgetting house enemies…

Source: http://www.indiatraveltimes.com/religion/m...muharram03.html AMRITSAR: Religious conversions have generally raised the hackles of the clergy and bodies associated with the affected religion. The villages along the national border in Punjab are the latest affected, with cases of conversion of some Sikhs and Hindus to Christianity. Sikh bodies have called for revamping of Sikhism-preaching institutions to combat the trend. Village Nagoke along the country's border lies in Amritsar district. Lying adjacent to the border, these villages have witnessed upheavals of communal tension. Since independence, however, they have settled down to a predominantly Sikh and Hind…

CHANDIGARH: Army deserters or self-styled 'dharmi faujis' appear to have no regrets about deserting the barracks 19 years ago 'to defend Sri Darbar Sahib in Amritsar.' Justifying the choice they made in 1984, dharmi faujis said on Sunday every Sikh soldier placed his hand on the saffron flag after his recruitment and swore he would not let any harm come to Sri Guru Granth Sahib. He then placed his hand on Sri Guru Granth Sahib and swore he would not let any harm come to the tri-colour. A representative of the Dharmi Fauji Association said, "If the Guru Granth Sahib was being desecrated, what was the use of protecting the tri-colour." The faujis were here on Sunday as p…

Bhai Fauja Singh (1936-1978) Bhai Fauja Singh was born on 17th May 1936 in District Gurdaspur. His father Sardar Surain Singh was a middle class farmer. After the formation of Pakistan they moved to the village of Gazneepur, which is 6 miles on the Gurdaspur Dera Baba Nanak road. During his childhood days Fauja Singh always used to be the leader of boys of a similar age in his village. At this small age he disappeared from home for one month and stayed with some Sants and Sadhs. …

The Saint - Soldier Namarata Kaur - KhalsaPride.com As the arrows fly through the air, Our Saint- Soldier crouches under his sheild. Although his memories tell a tale of unthinkable animosity towards his people, He does not regret being a soldier of Guru Gobind Singh Ji. "I have fought many battles," thinks our pious lion, "But none as fierce as this." Will he die today? Probably. But to die for Guru Gobind Singh Ji is a death only in the temperal world. "It's so lonely here," says the poet, completely unaware of the hundreds of bodies sprawled out on the ground next to him. An arrows makes its way towards him and pierces his heart. As he falls to the grou…
