I saw this thread at many other forums/etc and i thought we can have one here too. The purpose of this thread is to let members show a picture of themselves so that other members can put a face to a membername hopefully making this community a more tight-knit one where everyone knows your name and face. I will also be posting my pic in a bit:)

There was a lot of talk in the other thread, so I thought I'd start a new thread. So the Dastaar will be judged by the following - 6. Same as number 2, but I think we shouldn't be segregating the 'boat/ship/peak'-style Dastaar-wearing people, as it doesn't really help them in their self-confidence of wearing a dastaar AT ALL Also refers to number 3 - Dastaar for uniqueness with above mentioned 'styles'. Best of all - you can post as many pictures you want - with YOUR different styles, and then Sangat can suggest which one looks the best  Post away... bhull chukk maaf Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!!

aight guyz... the 'jokes' section is pretty boring as of late... so I thought i'd spice it up once again by bringing back the story thread we had a while ago... we had a hit on that one.... so... here we go.... One day long long ago, in a far away land... there was a princess name Jaspaul Singh.. she was known by everybody as the 'ugly duckling'.... this made her very depressed.... the only thing that would cure her ugliness is a romantic kiss from prince Japman Singh.......... ____________

Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh Just for an update to the Sangat the GENERAL BODY of Sri Guru Singh Sabha Southall (Park Avenue & Havelock Road) is on Sunday 24th September 2006 & the ELECTIONS are on Sunday 1st October 2006. Sunday 24th September 2006 - General Body (Open Meeting for Sadh Sangat) Sunday 1st October 2006 - Elections Please could somebody update on whats happening with the Panthic Membership Block? By Daas's view and to what Daas has heard it would be better that rather than not voting at all or re-electing Himmat Sohi, give the opposition party (G. S. Malhi) a chance, who have promised to re-start Panthic programmes etc etc. Wahe…

Community leader. That's who I am. I'm a community leader. So are you, So is your dad and uncle. Imagine if a white news network came to your town, was interviewing members of the public in the street and stopped you to talk. What caption do you think they're gonna put up on screen under your name ? Congratulations you're a community leader. When white people come to brown and black towns they imagine it is something like going to another planet such as venus or mars. Like aliens, they imagine we have a leader and if thats the one that made it to the news interview segment that that must be the leader. That's white people for ya. Camping. After working hard all mon…

(bit of a rant) A growing number of Sikh/Panjabis lack strong ambition in life except moving to another country. As soon as they finish school, they start preparing for a some English test. Numerous 'coaching' centres for this test have opened up on almost every street in Panjab cities and towns. Even some political parties were offering financial assistance for Panjabi youth to go abroad! These parties should instead be focusing on creating employment in Panjab rather encouraging all the young population to go to other countries so their governance isn't questioned in the future. There are less opportunities for people in Panjab but some are lazy. A lot r…

I have observed that of lately Sikh philosophy network site is turning into a kala afghna mouthpiece. There are some die hard anti Dasam Bani people who have been made mentors on that site. They slander bani of Dasam granth on one pretext or the other. They also interpret SGGS ji in a totally different way. They write that there is no gurmantra and naam simran in sikhi. New meanings of Amrit vela are being given.Any effort to combat that is nipped in the bud. Does anyone has experience on that site. Please share that here.

I watched the Dudley Protest show on Sikh Channel last night at 9.30pm...now while the Gursikhs in the Studio correctly stated what occurred on the day and they did so very well but the only video's shown by Sikh Channel showed a very one sided account of the day...the videso were very aggressive and confrontational...why was the other side not shown (Simran/Jaap)? Yes a few moments were shown where simran was done but the complete focus of the videos was on the few outburst alone! I've received numerous calls from mone friends/family saying that the protest was wrong as all the youth were acting like thugs and rampaging - this was all based on what was shown on Sikh Cha…
