Well I am just saying how it is. What do you expect me to do walk with eyes covered and never look. Also its not just about me. I am not one to look at a girl wearing skimpy clothing. But I see many others who do it. So its not a good thing. We need good moral standards in society. I am not saying lets get women covered up head to toe like muslims say. But their should be a degree of modesty and decent dress sence.

From sant Harnam singhs biography "se kinehya ?" THE WILLPOWER OF BABA JI Baba Ji used to mention that during the years he spent serving sadhu Santokh Das in his village, one day he casually told Baba Ji that, "When a youth steps into manhood, he should lower his gaze, as a mark of humility. For those who do not, are often deceived by what they see." The sadhu's words became engraved on Baba Ji's heart. When Baba Ji was returning home that day, a young lady was turning the corner into the street. Upon seeing Baba Ji, this young lady pulled her veil over her face, as was the custom in those days (as a measure of modesty young women would cover themselves in front of men). Baba Ji thought, "This woman covered her face in my presence because she considers me to be grown up. I must therefore behave like an elder andlower my gaze." The next day, when Baba Ji was going towards the fields to work, a respectable elder from the village saw him passing and called out to Baba Ji. On calling him over he said, "Harnam Singh, I need to advise you on a matter. Do not take it wrongly." Baba Ji replied very politely, "Bapu Ji, please say what you must without hesitation, I trust it will be for my benefit only." The old gentleman said, "Man's youth is like a flooded river of emotions. If one loses their foothold in the water, you are carried with the water and only good fortune of your destiny can save you. You are deeply religious, even in your youth. Be vigilant of the mind and careful of your emotions. Do not look upon anyone with vanity or lust. That's all! This alone is the way to save yourself from misdeeds. "This advice from the elder reinforced Baba Ji's earlier conviction. Miraculously, the old man's words sank deeply and firmly into his being. This incident gave Baba Ji such great fortitude and willpower that, for the 34 years he lived amongst his family and the village, he never looked upon another woman with bad intentions. He would go about his daily work, in and around his house with his gaze lowered, in respect and humility. As a result, of this thinking, lustful thoughts would never arise in his mind or cloud his conscience. Except for his mother, Baba Ji would avoid trivial chitchat with other women. Thus, in his behaviour, he fulfilled the words of Bhagat Namdev Ji… "He who forsakes another's wealth He who forsakes another's woman Near him alone does God (the man lion) abide" par Dhan par daaraa parharee. taa kai nikat basai narharee (Bhagat Namdev Ji, page 1163) "He whose eyes gaze not Upon the beauty of another's wife Who serves the holy Saints lovingly" taa kai nikat basai narharee saaDh kee tahal satsang hayt. (Gauri Sukhmani 5th Guru, page 274) These lines of Gurbani became the pillars of Baba Ji's chastity. He did not feel any temptation from desires, in attaining spiritual heights. He believed that the eyes play a major role in making our mind wander outside. Whatever a man sees with his eyes, is received by the mind and under the attraction of materialistic things, the mind then wanders outwardly. The more we try to control this extrovert nature of the mind, the quicker we'll be able to concentrate our mind on meditation. All spiritual achievements are proportional to the concentration of our mind.It is essential that the mind be controlled, by restraining the eyes.

Anything labeled kosher or halal supports jew/moslem causes respectively - it's the same desert creed crap -- halal/kosher is torture of cows, birds and people. The one life to live kosher halal gang of criminals (yolo) are the worst enemies of Dharmic peoples. Their greed/egotism cannot be described in words. These kosher/halal/born sinners of xtianity bastards have less than zero respect for Prakriti (Nature); to me they are not human beings in the fullest sense since their understanding of basic dharmic principles is virtually non-existent. Desert creed adherents are spiritual illiterates. WesternAryans ('europeans') - these western arya are now basically mlecch - they were removed from India because they failed to uphold Dharmic standards of morality. Westerners tried to fight against the slavery of xtianity being introduced to 2000 years ago but they failed - xtianity rules of ablution are disgusting - they rarely bathed and were told they are born sinners - Dr. Elst states that Xtianity retarded Science by 1000 years. The Baltic states were the last ones to hold out - but ultimately they too fell to the semitic desert creed of xtianity. Now we are in a post-xtian age - the jew moslem threat still needs to be dealt with - since these are fraudulent teachings rooted in falsehood, in due course of time the hollowness of islam/jewism will be self-evident to the point of both creeds imploding. Just as arabs and north Africans target women of different cultures for attack, Jews targeted women and girls of Poland for four centuries. The jew and moslem do not see peoples of other communities as equal - no matter, to me the mlecch is kaljug vermin. I would lay the blame for colonial atrocities on the jew Rothschild criminal gang (unworthy of the word family - they are a greedy gang of parasites) and xtianity. Kerala is the Kashmir of South India thanks to xtianity, a menace to Dharmic peoples. By the way, xmas is a knockoff of Diwali - at one time Diwali was celebrated in December. Jesus is not the reason for the season - the season itself (winter) is the reason for the season. Three days after shortest day is a sacred time on the Pagan calendar. Pagan word is corruption of Bhagwan. check the ingredients of everything - avoid packaged processed foods. Avoid all kosher/halal - it is almost impossible as these criminals have a strangle hold on the dairies of North America. Mlechh day in the sun is not forever - I look forward to the demise of the mlecch.

The fact is the benti chaupai is still not completed properly even before getting to Arril. It's only a few lines including Kripa karee.. ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਕਰੀ ਹਮ ਪਰ ਜਗਮਾਤਾ . Seems some kind of mischief which some colonial era sikhs believed in and added into SGPC rehit maryada! I am pretty sure some groups and jathebandis were allergic to shabad such as Jagmata in colonial times. This is why Benti Chaupai is abruptly ended, without finishing a few more lines. I don't see any respect in this, it is some weird kind of paranoid beadbi.

Is there any [articular reason you decided to get married in India, it's been discussed countless times on this forum, especially about the cultural differences with Punjabi's in India and those of use that are born and bred in other countries, did you try and find a wife from the same country that your from. The only way you'll find resolution is communication, at some point she'll have to hear what your saying, how you communicate is up to you, you will need her parent's to listen to you as well, if they don't listen directly then i'd suggest getting an older family member to do the talking, the last hing any parent wan't (especially in India) is their married daughter being dropped off back in the pind because the marriage did't work. If you want to take the route of making threats, telling her you'll cancel her visa, you'll get married again and god know's what else has been mention then that's up to you fella, in my experience things like that will tend to cause more harm than good. On a side note, i'd love to know how many people who give marital advice here are actually married and understand exactly how much hard work goes into a marriage to make it work, I've been married for over 16 years and we still argue, bicker and fight, it's human nature but we always find a resolution and more importantly know what our boundaries are, we've been through the "making threats" phase, it doesn't work, trust me. It's commendably that you take your laavan seriously, your right, for some people it is just done for show.

Strange how these barbaric and bloodthirsty terrorists had the far-sighted wherewithal to plan their attack according to the above valid assessment of their intended target. I'd imagine seeing the brutality of the NZ attacks would induce the desire for blind revenge on a t1t-for-tat "Western" target. It's almost as if they're acknowledging the fact that attacks on Sri Lankan Christians would cause "less" of an outcry than if they'd walked into a church in leafy Sussex and detonated their explosives. What was stopping them from doing so? Why would these terrorists care about potential blow-back for Muslims in the West when brutal and savage sectarian violence between Islamic sects has been a mainstay of their religious activities for centuries?

This is what is usually missing :- Kripaa karee ham per jag mata. Granth karaa puran subh raataa. kilbikh sagal deh ko hartaa. Dustt dokhiyan ko chhai kartaa. (26) The Mother of the world has been kind towards me and I have completed the book this auspicious night; The Lord is the destroyer of all the sins of the body and all the malicious and wicked persons.(26) Siree asDhuj jab bhae dayiaalaa. Pooran karaa granth tatkaalaa. Man baa(n)chhat phal paavai soee. Dookh na tisai biaapat koee. (28) The dumb, who will listen to it, will be blessed with the tongue to speak; the fool, who will listen to it attentively, will get wisdom; The suffering, pain and fear of the person will depart who recite Chaupai even once.(28) CHAUPAI Sambat satrh sahis bheNije. ardh sahis phun teen kaheje. Bhadrrav sudee ashtmee ravivaraa. Teer sat-drav granth sudaahraa. (29) It was Bikrami Samvat 1753; This book was competed on the banks of Sutlej on Sunday, the eighth Sudi of the month of Bhaadro. SVAIYAA Paa(n)e gahe jab té tumré tab té ko’oo aa(n)kh taré nehee aanyo. Ram rahim Puran Quran anak kahai mat eek na maneyo. Simrat shaastr badh sabh bohu bhedh kahai ham eik na janyo. Since I have held your feet, none other has entered my vision; Ram, Rahim, Puranas, Quran and many others recite, but I don't believe in even one. The Simritis, Shastras and Vedas describe many mysteries, but I don't recognise even one of them; O Sword-wielder God! All this I write, with your blessings, is not what I know but what you have shown me.(30) DOHRAA Sagal duaar kau chhaad kai, gahe’o tuhaaro duaar. Baa(n)he gahe kee laaj as Gobind daas tuhaar.(31) O Lord ! I have forsaken all other doors and chosen your door. It also puts to bed Guru Gobind Singh Ji believed in hindu or any other deities.

Makes you think: treasure Sikh scriptures and preserve their authenticity. God knows how devils in our community will try to alter or erase sections of Gurbani for various nefarious reasons over the centuries to come. Vigilance is key.

ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਕਾ ਖਾਲਸਾ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਕੀ ਫ਼ਤਹਿ Sister you don't have to leave. Forgive those who have been rude to you and remember a Sikh/Khalsa is never meant to be rude to anyone about their faith. Sorry you had to face that even though you came with sincerity to learn about Sikhi. Good that you say that those who seek God, do so by love because that's similar to what the 10th Guru says in a Shabad. ਸਾਚੁਕਹੌਸੁਨਲੇਹੁਸਭੈਜਿਨਪ੍ਰੇਮਕੀਓਤਿਨਹੀਪ੍ਰਭੁਪਾਇਓ॥੯॥੨੯॥ I speak Truth, all should turn their ears towards it: only the one absorbed in True Love shall attain the Lord. 9.29.

We have female parchariks/preachers at our temples as well as women who read the daily Sikh prayers from Guru Granth Sahib ji at our temples. Women can do kirtan which is singing hymns at the temple as well as prepare langar/food in the lagngar hall/community hall. Basically women can everything that men can do.

Gurbani also has a very interesting mention of the number 5, when Sree Guru Ram Das says: ਪੰਚੇ ਸਬਦ ਵਜੇ ਮਤਿ ਗੁਰਮਤਿ ਵਡਭਾਗੀ ਅਨਹਦੁ ਵਜਿਆ ॥ Panchae Sabadh Vajae Math Guramath Vaddabhaagee Anehadh Vajiaa || पंचे सबद वजे मति गुरमति वडभागी अनहदु वजिआ ॥ The Panch Shabad the Five Primal Sounds vibrate with the Wisdom of the Guru's Teachings; by great good fortune, the Unstruck Melody resonates and resounds. well considering this must of happened before Kashmiri Pandits came to visit so Gobind Rai would have been nine or ten Years old , so we really shouldn't be squeamish , I started broaching the subject with Isher Kaur when she was six as she had been groped by another child at school, why leave it to school teachers and schoolmates to tell our kids how to behave? As for other women being too concerned with avoiding the subject as it supposedly sexualising and encouraging girls to go wrong , I can say they 100% wrong , if you approach it gently and put in context of what they want to know about/ age appropriate also ensure that they know if anything is worrying them , is happening they can always back and tell you. Single Dads need to try to instil a sense of being loved and wanted in the daughters so they don't look outside the home for happiness , and give gurmat sikhia , examples of great sikh women to show how great a woman can be if they keep sikh values . If you get such ideas in kids' heads at a young age they keep them in mind later. It help easing the conversations

Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsaa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh! My dear sister, I can understand what you must be going through. I know you are aware that those things are not right, but it is hard for you to stop. If you want to stop everything, you have to become a strong singhni. You have to do lots and lots of naam simran, baani, alll the nitnem paath, ardaas to Maharaj ji. Once Guru ji does so much Kirpa, your surti will start to become more and more pure. Waheguru ji is the purest! His children start becoming like Him with more Naam Kamaai. Think about how much Karam you are making! Our karams are already soooo soooo much from so many previous life times! This is your life to kill all those karams and not make more karams! When we look at others and think about maya, we do keep on making karam. In Anand Sahib Guru Sahib says your eyes were not even made to see these things! They were made to see Waheguru ji! There is a saakhi, forgive me I dont properly remember. In the olden times there was a very "beautiful", proudy women. Everyone in te village used to look at her. But Kabir ji was the only pure one there. She would be very proud of her beauty and apply mascara on her eyes and go out. After a long time when she died, Kabir ji was passing and saw a skull in which the sockets where eyes are, were filled with ants. Kabir ji said that once this women used to put mascara in her eyes and on the same places now ants live here. It was something like that. In our generation, we are bombarded by images from adds, media so so much. Guys have wallpapers of cars on their laptops, women can't resist to look at model's posters again while passing somewhere. Try to recognize maya. If we do not know what is maya we keep doing wrong. Maya is all the model's picture we see, the tv dramas we see about relationships, even the non-khalsa colors we see! All our 5 sences are DRIVEN by maya... we take a second breath when smell some scent.. the songs we hear are wrong too. Once Mata Sulakhni ji came to Guru Nanak Dev ji and did not look too happy. She said all the women around her wear fancy clothes, but she only wears white suit. Guru Sahib ji said not to look at them, and stay in saadgi. It is all in our itihaas that Guru ji dosnt like all those decorations. So many time in Gurbani Guru ji mentions jewellery. You are Guru jis daughter, you have to listen to Guru ji. Do you think Mata Sahib Kaur ji wore make up? You should look like your Mata ji! Even thought we are born in such Kaliyug, Guru Sahib still keeps on doing soo soo much Kirpa! I know Gursikhs our age who do not many things because they have FELT that these indeed disturbs your soul alot... They don't watch TV ( Don't even have Tv in their house), don't go to malls (there is SO MUCH disturbance happens to your soul in that place filled with loud noices and SO MUCH MAYA), don't have manmukh frnds ( Kabir jir said what do I talk to worldly people, they don't know about God. And all I talk about is God). Also, we aren't really showing people how Amritdharis are suppose to be. I am telling you how it effects me. Truly, I don't want to be rude with you, my sister, but it really is disturbing for me when I see girls with keski wearing dresses. Please please don't wear dresses if you can. When I look at them.. I just can't seem to see them as Guru Gobind Singh ji's Daughters. I have tried so many times to see them that high, but I just can't seem to do that. I see girls doing Keertan at Gurdwara, my heart kinda sinks. Once I was trying to prove my family that Gursikhs are not suppose to wear jewellery. I was trying to convince my mom to wear them off. After a month my mom came with a Gurdwara calender which had a pic on women with keski wearing a big necklace. I did'nt have anything to say. I work with people and our manager ties Dastaar but does her eyebrows. My co-workers are punjabi aunties, and they talk how Amritdharis are fake. Once me and my friends were doing veechar about khands, and one girl said I am so bad that wen I think about Sachkhand, I think it is filled with bags and purses! I am sorry, my intention is only to explain how people get effected by this, but I really respect you for who you are. Do 1 hour Simran, do Ardaas to Guru ji, then throw away all your cosmetics into garbage. Just do that. You want Guru ji to stand beside you when you go to Dharamraj. You don't want to take birth again and be more separated from Waheguru ji. Also, SANGAT MATTERS!!!! Have Gursikhs sangat and eliminate manmukh frnds who bring maya vibes to you!

lolol you tell us just an example of how mahapurkhs bachans come true 28 August 1991 , Dusht Nang Ajit Poohla burnt alive four members of Bhai Balwinder Singh Babbar Jatana's Family. before this, Poohla had killed 6 innocent family members including kids as little as 7 months old of family of Bhai Joga Singh Khanpur. Baba Thakur Singh Ji Khalsa came for Saskaar of Bibiya who were burnt by Poohla and In a state of sadness, seeing dead bodies of Bibiya and kids, Babaji did bachan, ''Poohla vi jeeonda sarhega'' (Poohla will also be burnt alive). Exactly 17 years after that bachan, on 28th August 2008, Dusht Poohla was burnt alive in Amritsar Jail by Bhai Navtej Singh-Bhai Harchand Singh upholding Panthic tradition of punishing Dushts who killed innocents.
