  1. Muslims are taking over Canada just like they have in the UK , I am no racist but you should come to the UK every whim of the Muslim community is fevoured over by the nanny goverment. The Sikhs in Canada may think they have a special releationship with the goverment etc , but unless the Sikh community in Canada is poltically strong then this special releationship equates to ZERO. This special releationship is gonna go through the window anyway ! As soon there will be more Muslims to ponder to for their votes just like in the UK, did you know there are already more Hindus and Muslims in Canada then Sikhs ! , Did you know that the Muslims population growth through birth rates and immigration in Canada is going to increase to a massive rate . My question to the Sikhs in Canada is , what are you going to do about this ! You should lobby your goverment to stop Muslim immigration. They are our enemy , they have been in the past , are at present and will be in future. What do you want the ratio of Sikhs to Muslims to be 1 to 5 like there are in the UK! Muslims cause enourmous problems in the UK with all communites including Sikhs , and the goverment does not know what to do with them , is this what you want in Canada. You canadian Sikhs need to wakeup now before its too !

  2. Politicians repudiate Canadian values over India In the international uproar over a Canadian immigration officer who denied a visa to a former member of a “notoriously violent” Indian paramilitary force one thing is clear: Some Canadian politicians are working for everyone but Canadians. The story broke in India two weeks ago after a would-be immigrant complained that an unnamed visa officer declined his application on the grounds that he had worked with the Border Security Force, a paramilitary group. The rejection letter noted that the BSF had been involved in attacks on civilians and had engaged in “systematic torture.” Soon other rejected applicants came forward complaining that they, too, were banned under a rule that forbids entry to war criminals or anyone who has engaged in “terrorism, systematic or gross human rights violations, or genocide.” Instead of commending the visa officer for doing the job Canadians expect — excluding those who ignore Canadian human rights standards — Immigration Minister Jason Kenney opted to offer India a grovelling apology. (The Tories have been courting India's market of more than 1 billion people as a trading partner.) Visa officers have “too much latitude,” Kenney told several news outlets. I suspect most Canadians would say that it is Kenny who has been given too much latitude. This is a point that voters might take up with the opposition if it weren't for the fact that Liberal MP Ujjal Dosanjh told the Hindustan Times that India's anger is justified. Dosanjh compares India to two other nations known for human rights abuses, China and Israel. He suggests that India is entitled to the same low standards of scrutiny on immigrants that Canada has (supposedly) granted them. “Will they dare do this to the Chinese or Israelis? Never. I am very angry about how the Canadian government is treating individual members of Indian security agencies,” Dosanjh is quoted as saying. “Indian security agencies may have the same kind of operational difficulties that Israeli forces are going through in the Middle East. But Canadians dare not treat Israeli agencies the way they are treating Indian agencies.” If that's true, what makes Dosanjh think it's in the best interests of Canadians to lower the standard of scrutiny for Indian immigrants rather than raise it for those from China or Israel? While Kenney and Dosanjh both show a touching enthusiasm for maintaining the good name of India's security forces, it's a shame they don't show more concern for the welfare of the Canadians who elected them. Amnesty International's 2010 report notes that Indian police and paramilitary forces engage in the torture, abduction and killing of civilians as well as harassing human rights defenders reporting on their actions. (This same report highlights the Canadian government's poor treatment of aboriginals, which may be why Kenney prefers to ignore it.) The Toronto Star has reported that Meenakshi Ganguly, a researcher with Human Rights Watch, was not surprised by the Canadian immigration officer's assessment of the Border Security Force. Human Rights Watch's reports show that the BSF has committed human rights violations both in the Indian-administered Kashmir and along the India-Bangladesh border. But then those are just the views of “some ridiculous human rights activist body,” as the New Delhi Sunday Pioneer characterizes critics. It dismisses Canada's immigration officers as being “preachy moralists” who don't understand “the complexities of a country.” “Since there are no accepted global yardsticks, Canada has set up its own war crimes section where, presumably, gullible, starry-eyed youngsters, fresh from university and an internship with some ridiculous human rights activist body, sit in judgment over the Indian army,” writes the Sunday Pioneer. That article brags that India only rejects visa applicants on reasonable grounds, citing the barring of Salman Rushdie, whose book The Satanic Verses earned him death threats from Muslims. “Where Canada differs is by statutorily barring all those it considers guilty or complicit of genocide, war crimes and crimes against humanity.” Yes, author Swapan Dasgupta does seem to have it right. Unlike India, Canada protects freedom of speech and human rights. And most Canadians consider it perfectly reasonable to expect that immigrants share those values. Or so I thought until I read of the disgraceful performances by Kenney and Dosanjh. I think that it's fair to say that India defines the word democracy differently than Canada — which is its right. But Kenney and Dosanjh were elected to represent Canadian views and values, not Indian ones. http://www.thestar.com/opinion/editorialopinion/article/817060--politicians-repudiate-canadian-values-over-india

  3. Well, if Sikhs are truly worried about Muslim influx into Canada, then you are right in saying that lobbying should be done. Since Sikhs are a minority, they should follow the path of Jews who have managed to obtain tremendous amounts of political power in the countries in which they reside. This means setting up Sikh lobbying organizations that are very well funded by the community to endorse Sikh aims. It also means donating so much money to campaigns through various organizations or individuals to influence the decision making policies of politicians. Essentially, make it so a politician fears he won't get elected without your money I think there will be prosperous Sikhs in Canada who would be willing to donate to such a cause.

  4. You say the muslim population in Canada is moderate, but was it not recently when there was an muslim terrorist attack uncovered by Canadian police in Toronto, also a muslim father killed his daughter for not wearing a burka, also a Muslim father killed his daughter for marrying a Sikh and embracing Sikhism all in Canada. What you do not understand is the Muslim population in Canada is new compared to other immigrant communities, once they start to flourish and understand what they can get away with, they will start turning to more extremist views, when a person immigrants from an extremist Islamic country, this does not mean they will change their mid-set as soon as he/she reach the shores of Canada. Your views are naive, you need to wake-up and see what is going on eg, Muslims actively encourage their children to convert non-muslims using any measures sometimes illegal, this is also hard to prove and convict as its hard to prove a person has been brainwashed, this goes on in the UK. The muslim community in the UK has isolated itself in ghettos, there are no go areas for non-muslims, where illegal sharia courts are setup. The big difference between all other immigrant communities in the West and Islamic communities is, the Islamic community immigrants with the firm conviction to change the profile of the country they immigrate to, in terms of laws, finance, social fabric, culture, and their perceived morals, the problem they have is the rest of the non-muslim community is quite rightly unwilling to accept the whole thinking of Islam. It would not be suprising to mean that in 20 years Muslims try to carve out a new Islamic state from the UK, already Muslim divorce causes can be overseen by Sharia courts in Mosques, already there are finacial excpetion for Muslims with more than one wife, already in the UK Muslim mullars are trained on how to be proper muslim clerics, Mohammaed is the most common name with new borns in London. The biggest problem in the UK is the goverment has just discovered how widespread Muslim extreamism is in the UK, considering the London bombing and the recent attempted bombing, there are over 2000 Muslim that are British citizens who are under survellience by the goverment for potential extreamist activities, the Muslim community are not more forth-coming with information and evidence about illegal activities that people from Muslim community undertake, this indicates they are supportive of extreamist. UK has a massive problem do not let it happen in Canada, once people get citizenship the goverment cannot kick them out !

  5. when I was pleading wid everyone on that VERY URGENT thread to get down there or phone the gurdwara or even post on sikh sangant like they are doing now to increase exposure. I was ignored and it seemed everyone was to busy discussing Mahapursh and other issues at the time that were irrelevant. Now it has become the main issue after everything has happened. We could have stopped this but no one cared. going to rainsbhais, wearing bana, learning santhia are of no use if you are not going to stand up when there is a need. and to all the Jathebandiya, im sorry but they are all useless. Its all show. How sad you can pack out a barsi, a rainsbhai, a dasam akand path program but you cant even go and stop beadbi from happening and your supposed to Guruji's samaparda, jatha, fauj and do seva for panth etc etc etc. They are all living off the past (im sure there is a minority who are not like that but the majority are useless)

  6. LOL! yup, i remember having a banana cut on my neck as well! probably the reason why gatka is more widespread s cos that the other types of combat mentioned are very hard to master, whereas you can learn to wave sticks around in 1 day. One thing im really glad that someone has mentioned is wrestling. wrestling itself is supetrb for fitness and strength.
