  2. We are no body to decide when we come to this earth and nobody to decide when we go from here. There are many ways that you can make yourself useful to the society, to y our family to yourself. You seem to be putting question after question on different topics. Its good to be curious and finding out answers. But how about some action at the same time. Volunteer at your local Gurughar for some sewa. There is tons of stuff to do at Gurughars. examples in kitchen are Preparing Langar, mopping the floor, cleaning/organizing the kitchen. doing dishes. Dishes never stop coming to cleaning from morning till all sangat is gone. Cleaning/organizing the langar floor. Volunteering to be the leader to have sangat do simran for 5 mins. before they start eating. Serving food to the sangat, then picking up plates and picking any residue from the floor. In Deewan hall, doing the sewa of Chaur to Guru Sahib (if you wear washed clothes to Gurughar) Organizing the side rooms where they put all supporting supplies they need in deewan hall. Helping with any khalsa school activities. doing shoes cleaning and organizing sewa. Cleaning bathrooms sewa. There is tons more I can write about sewa in Gurughar or in some hopital or ins ome school or in some shelter for homeless and poor etc. etc. But lets start from Gurudwara first, where you will get to listen to Gurbani as well. You won't be firing question after question, once you get under the spell of sewa. not that I don't want you to find these answers, but the reality is that you wont' have questions anymore. you will find answers yourself in your activity and in your own mind. Vehla mann shaitan da ghar. Free mind is the devil's workshop.Thats the case with you right now. So get busy, do good to yourself and to society at the same time.

  3. VJKK VJKF I wondered that question as well some time ago, not on a personal level though, I was just curious about that situation, and i think i found the answer... Yes you would be punished, reason being is because you have to remember that Vaaheguroo is the one that owns you, you don't own him, he owns you, so you have no right to end his creation, so committing suicide would be an action of ego/ahankaar. Because what you're basically saying is that, for example, having somebody's car and feeling that you can smash it up because there will be no consequences after. But obviously there will because you don't own that car, and the actual owner of it will want to teach you a lesson for doing that to their car... As their lesson will be out of anger, Vaaheguroo's lesson to you for committing suicide will be out of pyaar/love... What you think? VJKK VJKF

  4. When the habitants of Sri Patna heard of the departure of the child Guru Gobind Rai Ji, they were tearfur. It is said that Jagat Meth and Rahim Bakhsh begged the child Guru not to leave but the Guru replied that he had already made preparations for Sri Anandpur Sahib. The wife of Raja Fateh Chand asked the Guru how she would receive a divine glimpse of the child Guru once He had left Patna Sahib. To her humble request, Guru Gobind Rai Ji blessed her with a sharp double edged sword, sword and garment .Guru Ji told her that whenever she would serve the children of Patna with bolied gram , milk and pooris she would be serving Guru Gobind Rai himself. Guru Gobind Rai Ji explained that the kirpan was a representation of the Lord Almighty and that one would receive a divine glimpse of the child Guru through selfless service and prayer. Guru Gobind Rai Ji blessed Rahim Bakhsh vand uttered that during his daily recitation of Sri Japuji Sahib, the Guru would always be present.Guru Ji promised Pandit Shiv Dutt that he would give him his divine glimpse every morning. Guru Ji blessed Jagat Seth a life of contemplation on God and salvation. The child Guru uttered that the citizens of Patna shall receive a divine glimpse of the Guru in his own home each morning provided that they rose each morning and recited Sri Asa Di vaar prayer

  5. Veer Ji, Waheguru Ji loves all of us, regardless of how idiotic we might act at times. But does that mean we should take advantage of his love? Dishonor the hair given by him? Is that how we return the love? Its like our parents they love us regardless of how stupid we act and in return we try to keep them happy. For example: You flunk out of school, your parents are going to be really mad and they are going to make you go back to school and try harder but they aren't going to stop loving you. The same goes with Waheguru Ji is going to be disappointed if you called yourself a Sikh but flunked out of Sikhi by doing everything that was against Sikhi (like cutting your hair), then he is going to make you go through lots of rebirths before he makes you human again to retry. Wouldn't things be so much simpler if we just tried harder the first time to please Him because he loves us? Instead of trying to take advantage of the fact he would love us regardless? Also, speaking of school. A lot of people have a hard time with school and don't want to go but majority of people are grateful in the end for going to school. So today you might find it hard to keep your hair, be a good sikh but Veer Ji, tomorrow I promise you you'll be grateful.

  6. who told you this? traditionally the Kara was the last kakkar, but nowadays cos its the easiest to wear most people think its the first. self-defence is not for the religious only, and sikhs used to wear weapons for almost 100 years before khande ki pahul was first used. everybody has the right to defend themselves but with kirpan there are some obligations that 1 should adhere to.ie be keshadhari and non-alcohol user, but as cisco singh ji has pointed out, a sikh should always learn how to use weapons and his first weapons are his body, then think about using kirpan. someone has said never use a kirpan in any circumstance, then why bother to wear it? Kirpan even brandished will make someone think again about attacking you. the rubbish about not eating meat, if you are going to wear kirpan is laughable, if you read history.

  7. My uncle has a long dhara and he is a machinist he ties his dhara--his sleeve actually got caught into the machine once and he got a big cut on his arm, if his dhara was khula then it wouldnta been a pretty site, , my cousin is a police officer he ties his dhara but i see theres another sikh police officer who keeps dhara khula Police Officer If u choose to tie ur dhara, keep it nice and open when u come to Gurdwara or nagarkertan, just a suggestion, Just look at pictures of old sikh men, and u'll see the difference of who looks better, free flowing beard all the way! Beard Tied Open Dhara

  11. Waheguru Ji ka Khalsa, Waheguru Ji ki Fateh! Veer Ji, Please don't cut your hair or trim it or anything of the sorts. I know its tempting but don't do it. Just remind yourself waheguru put the hair there for a reason. We might not know it but if there wasn't a reason, we wouldn't have it. Isn't it better to be safe, then sorry? Just trust Waheguru and don't cut it. I am a girl and have spent most my life being insecure about my hair before I started walking this path. I know what it feels like. I use to hate my long hair and on top of that i had horrible facial hair. All I wanted more then anything was a cute haircut and laser hair removal on the facial hair. But Sikhi helped me accept myself, for who I am. I don't even notice my hair anymore and wouldn't dream of cutting it. Please accept everything Waheguru Ji gives you and don't change it. You might struggle with it today but tomorrow when Waheguru Ji helps you understand, you will be very grateful you didn't mistake of cutting them. Sorry, If I said anything wrong. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa, Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh
