  1. Vaaheguroo Jee Kaa Khaalsaa, Vaaheguroo Jee Kee Fatheh! PLEASE READ THIS STORY! IT COULD HONESTLY CHANGE YOUR LIFE! I PERSONALLY KNOW PEOPLE WHOSE IT HAS CHANGED! This is one of those stories that will undoubtedly make you cry just as it made the Singh who was telling the story cry and the whole sangat in the darbaar saahib cry, please read it... In India around year 2006/07/08, there was a young Singhni, she wore a dastaar (turban) and had a full Sikh roop (image), she did her paath (prayers) and followed Sikhi properly. She had earned herself an interview for an air hostess job. Now, an air hostess job is a really good money making job, however, you have to look like a model to be able to get the job. So this Singhni thought to herself, "I'm only going to get this job if I look the part as well", so she decided to go to the salon and get her hair cut so that she could look like a model, she had decided that she would do this job for 2 or 3 years and then she can get back into Sikhi again after that. So she went on her way to the salon. As she was walking towards the salon entrance she heard a voice, "oh daughter, do not go there", the Singhni looked back and saw nobody, so she took another step forward, she then heard the voice again saying, "do not go there daughter, I beg you", the Singhni looked back again but still saw nobody, and so she continued walking to enter the salon when she heard the voice for the third time saying, "oh daughter, I am begging you do not go there, you have no reason to be going here", and so the Singhni looked back for the third time and again saw nobody, so she turned back around to go into the salon and standing there infront of the door was an old woman with her arms spread out infront of the door, she told the Singhni, "Please do not to go in there, you do not belong here!". But the Singhni had already made up her mind and moved the old woman's arms out of the way and entered the salon. The old woman waited outside. The Singhni had now completed her makeover, her hair was cut, everything was done and she now looked like a model. On exiting the salon the old woman stood crying infront of the young woman who was now not a Singhni anymore, the old woman said to her, "So you've cut your hair? You've gone and murdered them have you?!?". The old woman told her to look behind her, as the young woman turned round and looked back, she saw two dead bodies of Guroo Gobind Singh Jee's Saahibzaade just lying there, they were physically lying there, right infront of the young woman's eyes. The old woman was crying and crying and said, "You killed my sons! My brave sons! YOU killed them! YOU killed them!". The young woman instanly dropped to the ground and lay there unconcious for 12 hours! Finally somebody picked her up and she woke up in hospital and told everybody what had happened, and since then she has never turned her back on her Guroo. At this point, the whole Sangat sitting in the darbaar sahib at Sikhi Camp began to cry, only some did not, and that was because they did not understand the story because it was being told in panjabi by a Singh. Is this what Sikhi has come to? That we have to see the dead bodies of our brothers, of the Saahibzaade in order to help us keep us close to our Guroo? Please! Open your eyes and wake up! So you see, our hair is not just something that we 'have to keep', it is extremely sacred! Guroo Gobind Singh Jee told us that it is the most sacred thing a Sikh has on their body and should be taken care of to the highest extent, and should be given the highest amount of respect! But ask yourselves, do you do that? Do you comb your hair and then save it to burn or do you just throw it away in the bin? When Guroo Gobind Singh Jee had just fought a war, the shaheed singh's (martyred singh's) bodies were lying on the floor with their dastaars (turbans) off and the hair was uncovered and everywhere. Guroo Gobind Singh Jee was with some Singhs and as he saw this he took off his shoes, and a Singh said to Guroo Jee, "Guoo Jee, why are you taking your shoes off? Leave them on because there are broken swords and weapons and all sorts of sharp things on the floor, you will definitely hurt yourself", and Guroo Jee replied, "My Sikh's hair is on the floor and uncovered, if I step on them by accident with my shoes I will be greatly disprespecting Vaaheguroo (god)". So you see, Guroo Gobind Singh Jee did not care if he was going to get hurt as long as the hair of those shaheeds was respected. So please take something away from this true story which only happened a couple of years ago! Have some respect and realise the truth! Dhan Dhan Shree Guroo Granth Saahib Jee Maharaaj, Mere Pyaare Pyaare Maharaaj... BIG THANK YOU TO SIKHI CAMP, ALL THE PYAARE PYAARE SEVAADAARS AND THE PYAARI PYAARI SANGAT JEE! Please forgive me if I have offended anybody or made mistakes, as I'm sure I probably have, I ask for your forgiveness. Vaaheguroo Jee Kaa Khaalsaa, Vaaheguroo Jee Kee Fatheh!

  2. I am having trouble finding the problem with Non Amritdhari's preparing langar. I find this to be a very foolish reason to not eat Guru Ka Langar. Why does it matter who langar was prepared by? Through Ardas and Bhogh it becomes Guru Ji's langar. So regardless of who prepares it, it was still cooked in Guru Ji's Kitchen under Guru Ji's shelter. Then what is the problem? I have seen many Hindu's preparing langar, doing path, singing Kirtan and partaking in the congregation, they do it out of love and respect. I have also seen "Mona" Sikhs preparing langar with the same shrada as an Amritdhari Sikh. Hindoo Turak kooo Raaphjoo Imaam Saaphoo, maanas koo jaat sahi ekai paithchaanbo|| Someone is Hindu and someone a Muslim, then someone is Shia, and someone a Sunni, but all the human beings, as a species, are recognized as one and the same. Ekai nain ekai kn ekai deh ekai baan, khaak baad aatas au aab ko ralaao hai|| The eyes are the same, the ears the same, the bodies are the same and the habits are the same, all the creation is the amalgam of earth, air, fire and water. Pg 51 Amrit Cannot be prepared by a non Amritdhari. But Langar is for the common people. Its a free kitchen for all no matter how rich or poor, what color, what caste, or what religion they belong to. Then we shouldn't exclude "Non Amritdharis" from being able to do this seva. If they are not Amritdhari then they dont become any less of a person than an Amritdhari. If someone thinks that, then its Pure Ego. Bhul Chuk Maaf

  3. Guru Pyari Sikhsangat.com Jio, WahegurJiKaKhalsaWaheguruJiKeFateh. You may recall that some time ago Bhai PJS very kindly uploaded the digitised version of this great Granth on his scribd.com page. An attempt has been made to translate the work into English. I hope you will forgive the shortcomings and do Ardas that this can be continued and completed. Many thanks for reading. Vairag Shatak Raja Bharthari lived in Ujjain Nagar around two and a half thousand years ago. He was born in a high kul {lineage} who was a vidhwan pandit {scholar}. He was fair and just towards all his subjects and as such was much loved by all the parja {citizens}. His father’s name has been recorded in Rajavali as Raja Gandarbh Sann but mother’s name has been omitted and it is written that he was in fact born to a dasi {servant girl}. The raja had been married three or four times already but when he heard the kirti {praises} of a mahan sundar rajkumari {very beautiful princess}, he married her too. The name of this rani was Pingla. Her magical beauty and gunn {attributes} captivated the raja in such a way that he became her gulam {slave}. Just as the commands of Noor Jahan had a hold over Badshah Shah Jahan , this was the same scenario with raja Bharthari. Pingla feared none since the king Bharthari was under her “spell”. She wandered around sutantar {independently}, without fear, and as such fell in love with the astbal droga {stable master}. The rani had a devarr {husband’s younger brother}, who considered his elder brother raja Bharthari as a father figure and the rani as a mother. He obeyed their every order with utmost loyalty. The maharajah had given him the post of Pardan Mantri {Prime Minister}, the duties of which he carried out with great splendour. His name was Veer Vikramaditya, he is the same Mahapursh {great soul} who later came to be known as the famous Maharajah Bikramjit. The samat calendar is still used in his memory even today. Vikramditya was the first to have suspicions regarding the vibchar {adultery} of rani Pingla. After much deliberation he finally informed his brother raja of the misdeeds of rani Pingla. The raja was so besotted with Pingla that he took offence and as such reprimanded his own brother for saying such a thing. The raja went as far as to say that it is because you are my younger brother that I shall remain quiet otherwise I would have had you hanged. The raja considered his rani to be the supreme satti savitri {a lady who was the epitome of high moral character}. When Pingla found out about this confrontation she began to show even more love towards the raja. After some days she made a request to the raja, “your younger brother Vikramjit is like a son to me and I have always tried to be a mother to him but he looks at me in a lustful manner. Any other female would have succumbed to his advances by now! It is me who has evaded this terrible situation. He has made every attempt to defile me, and not only me, he has in fact destroyed the satt dharam {purity} of many women in this kingdom. It was only a few days ago that he attempted to lure the noh {daughter-in-law} of the Brahmin with the assistance of dootia {maids etc.} but she like me too is a pattibratta {faithful woman} and as such resisted his intentions. I implore you to stay alert and be very wary about such an adharmi {unscrupulous} man. I do not want you to be in any danger from him.” Upon hearing this the Maharajah took every word to be the utmost truth. Then rani Pingla called the Brahmin and said “are you aware that the Maharajah is is in my total control and if you desire your well being then follow my instructions to the full. Go to the Maharajah and make a pukar {plea}, if you don’t then I shall have you tortured!” The Brahmin knew that the raja was totally smitten by Pingla and as such would only take her word against any other. “I will obey your every command” replied the Brahmin to rani Pingla. Pingla told the Brahmin ”go to the raja’s court and make a faryad {plea}! and when he asks you what is the matter, you reply that kumar{prince} Bikramjit wants to engage in immorality with my noh {daughter-in-law} and if you are prepared to allow this than I shall leave your nagar {kingdom} and go elsewhere. I cannot stand by and allow my izatt {respect} and istri dharam {chaste} to be destroyed in this way.” “Also remember that you must not succumb to the raja in any way!” Upon hearing this the Brahmin went to see the Maharajah the very next day and cried his dilemma {which the rani taught him} with immense reality. The Maharajah filled with krodh {anger} upon hearing his words. Without padtal {investigation} the maharajah immediately ordered the des nikala {expulsion} of his younger brother from his kingdom. Bikramjit accepted his maharajah brother’s edict with love, patience, and without complain. He immediately went home and gathered his family and promptly left the kingdom. At the same time another situation occurred. One day a Brahmin arrived in the raj darbar {king’s court} and began to tell the raja that “twenty five years earlier I made a dridh sankulp {strict devotion} to do tapp {endurance} in order to appease the Devta {deity}, the devta gave me an Amar Phall {fruit that gives eternal life}. I have come here with that phall, my wife won’t eat it herself nor will she let me eat it. She says that we are poor and persistent poverty will be harder to manage. We only desire death now so that we may escape our hardships. If we eat the amar phall then we shan’t die and as a result will have to endure more hardship. That is why it is my wish that you take the amar phall so that you can continue to rule your kingdom in the most benevolent way and in return you can give us wealth which will eradicate our suffering.” Upon hearing this from the Pandit Rajah Bharthari he took the amar phall in exchange for an abundance of wealth, which pleased the Brahmin immensely. The rajah didn’t eat this fruit himself but gave it to his beloved rani Pingla. The rani thought that it would be deceitful of her to eat the fruit, so when the rajah left she summoned her lover and promptly gave him the fruit. The lover did not eat the fruit either but gave it instead to his favourite prostitute. The prostitute accepted the fruit but began to contemplate her lifestyle “I have sinned all my life, destroyed many marriages etc. If I eat this fruit and become amar {eternal} then this is all I will endure {lustful activities}. It is better that I give this fruit to the Maharajah instead, in whose raj he has given me so many pleasures.” After contemplating this with all sincerity she presented the fruit to the Maharajah. The maharajah was first stunned upon seeing the fruit but then asked the vesvah {lady of the night} where she had obtained this fruit from? Upon being interrogated by Bharthari the veshvah told the whole story truthfully “Your astbal droga {stable master} is my mitr {lover}, he gave it to me.” The raja immediately summoned the droga {stable master} and asked how he became in possession of the fruit? The drogra fell at the rajah’s feet and narrated the whole scenario of how he engaged in immorality with his rani Pingla. As soon as the Maharajah heard the whole story, he immediately filled with nafarat {hatred} of the rani and the world in general. He became fully vairag {total renunciation}. He immediately summoned the maha mantri {prime minister} and said; “look after this raj {kingdom} I am leaving. Bikramjit suffered pains owing to my decision to expel him. Call him back and place him on the throne.” As soon as he had given these instructions he immediately removed the robes that adorned his body. He covered his body with a solitary sheet as he left to join Gorakh. Maharajh Bharthari first wrote “Shingar Shatak” and during his reign wrote “Neeti Shatak” and after attaining vairag {renunciation} he wrote “Vairag Shatak” in which he describes the state of his mind. “Vairag Shatak” Granth was written in Brijj language by the great scholar Kavi Pandit Har Dyal Ji of Choonia Nagar. The Punjabi translation has been undertaken by Pandit Naryan Singh Gyani. TO BE CONTINUED WITH WAHEGURU JI'S MEHAR.........................

  4. There are some who project themselves as panthic but their actions belie that. This case is one of that wherein the writer of the following link is a hard core Ragi darshan supporter. Yet claims to be a panthic person who is acting for panth. Readers can judge such persons on the basis their writings.I am thankful to Singhfaujan for having let us know the truth about such people who masquerade as panthic whereas they are anti panthic. Let us not be carried away by our affiliations and expose anti panthic elements. http://www.khalsaspi...IsnotObeyed.pdf

  9. For some reason, these days I have been having this urge to leave my house. But I have nowhere else to go. It seems to me that no one in my family wants me to be home and that leaves me thinking to just run away. I have never shared this with anyone before other then one of my closest friend. All she tells me is that why would you do such a thing. But I have no answer for that. Sometimes I tell myself that why would I feel such an urge to go anywhere else when Rajan Ke Raja Maharajan Ke Maharaja Dhan Guru Granth Sahib Jee is parkash at the house. I also have this intense feeling all the time that I want to go to Sachkhand Sri Harmandar Sahib. Sometimes I spend like an hour crying just to go there. I have been there only once but I was to young to remember anything. I want to spend my entire life at Darbar Sahib and do bartna de sewa and jorean de sewa. This is the only goal in my life but how do I get this opportunity?

  10. Bhai Bakshish Singh Baba, Bhai Balwant Singh Rajoana & Bhai Jagtar Singh Hawara are the Shers, not those who come out to make statements on dates marking significant events then go back into hiding. Why is it not possible for Dal Khalsa to put up a photo? Tell them to take the 'Sher' Mann with them.

  11. These are same people who created chaos in Diwan hall. They are Ragi darshan/kala afghana supporters gathered from about 4 to 5 states.Included in them is ex president of Gurudwara Tehal singh and secretary Rajinder. There are a few from breakaway akj jatha who support Ragi darshan. In this meeting Tehal singh is roaring criticizing akal takhat jathedar and akal takhat as an institution. He uses rogue language for akal takhat jathefar sahib. That shows his intellectual bankcruptcy and a pendu style devoid of any knowledge of Gurmat.Later when his companions were thrashed in Diwan hall , he kept sitting silently there. Rajinder was the leader of these people.he was soundly thrashed when he created disturbance in Diwan hall.Video shooter is a Ragi supporter who has put up numerous anti panthic videos on youtube supporting ragi drashan's blasphemy. Listen what they are saying. They are supporting blasphemy of ragi darshan. That is their main grudge against Akal takhat jathedar. They are singhs in appearance but unsinghs in action who have no respect for parkash of Guru Granth sahib. The video also exposes nexus between so called panthics and kala afghana/Ragi darshan supporters.

  12. Most of assertions of the writer are a bunch of lies.At one place he writes This is an outright lie as i have done research on this. There is no such letter issued by Shiromani committee. The so called touted letter by such elements is a fake and not signed by anybody. This is the moral degradation to which such people have stooped. I invite them to furnish that letter. Once they claim something they should prove that.

  14. Veerjee I grew up going to a Gurdwara in Dubai thats made and run by Sindhi Hindus. They have pictures of Hindu gods and goddesses and their own saints (most cleanshaven) all over the walls. My own Punjabi Hindu relatives who visited from Punjab were in shock and said this is more like a mandir and doesn't even feel like a Gurdwara. When they visited another one thats managed by Amritdhari GurSikhs, they said "now this feels like Punjab". Veerjee this was when I was myself a Hindu and had no idea about Sikhi, and back then itself I realized the difference. Its not about inferior/superior, its about the difference. We already have an example of a Gurdwara committee in Rochester, New York that is headed by monnay and has banned kirpans. I personally agree with you that Gurujee's presence is enough to turn any place into more than heaven, any person into more than an angel, no questions about it. Gurujee loves everyone, no doubt about that either. I am also not questioning the sanctity of langar prepared by non-Amritdharis as thats what I myself have every week. The only point is requesting fellow Sikhs to realize/understand that in Sikhi we are to live by a certain standard. It is absolutely alright if we are trying to get there and working on it. But to label a rehet as outrightly unwanted just because we can't follow it out of our convenient thinking is incorrect. Its better to choose to work on it instead. With all due respect sister, whatever you've stated is purely your own opinion. Like I said in my post, this rehet has been practised for a long time by Gurmukhs. Did you read the link to the article I posted? It answers all your questions. The Gurbani tuks you posted are talking about all humans being equal. Who said we aren't? Its not ego, its a rehet. Why did Gurujee say "rehet pyaari mujhko Sikh pyaara naahi"? Gurujee Himself loves the rehet of a Sikh more than the Sikh himself/herself. Yes langar can be prepared by non-Amritdharis and I myself eat that always because very rarely is it prepared only by GurSikhs. But then how do we call it Guru ka langar? Why have different rules for different things? Bhai Sahib Bhai Randhir Singh Jee was a strict Bibeki who observed Sarabloh Bibek even in jail for 17 years. I don't think I'd ever go as far as calling him foolish. You may have seen Hindus and monnay preparing langar but just because it happens doesn't mean its right. I have seen monnay taste langar while preparing it to make sure it tastes good. I hated the sight of it. Please read the link I posted. Now even Hindus and Westerners believe that the thoughts running in one's mind while preparing food have a subtle effect on the food which in turn has a subtle effect on the mind. I leave the choice to the readers. You want to consume food prepared by Amritdhari GurSikhs reciting Naam/Bani or by others who probably smoke and are singing pop songs while preparing food/langar? Yes its all about love in Sikhi, no doubt. But true love is where you are ready to pay any price for it. Amritdharis are NOT superior, they're just committed to the point of being ready to pay any price. Bhenjee, I have seen several examples of people with this "love and shardha" dare to do a lot of stupid things which irritates the life out of me. They come to Gurujee's taabeya with socks on, if you object, "oh come on, so what, its all about love". They run around in the langar kitchen bare-headed, if you object, "oh come on, so what, its all about love". They even sit in the langar gall bare-headed and eat langar, f you object, "oh come on, so what, its all about love". They start eating before the jakaara, if you object, "oh come on, so what, its all about love". Sorry, this is not love, its slacking to make life more convenient. Bhenjee such people disrespect the very core of Sikh maryada and call it as rituals. Good points veerjee, thanks for sharing. Please forgive anything that may be offensive as I would never want to push someone away from Sikhi. I am sorry, but living Sikhi is to live how your Guru wants you to live, not how you choose to. Please do Ardas that those who wish to be Bibeki some day (like this fool Mehtab Singh) can do so by Gurujee's kirpa. I am no one to judge anyone as at this point I am myself unable to keep the amount of Bibek I wish to. However, lets not mock/judge a rehet that Gurmukh pyaare have been observing for ages just because we are not prepared to abide by it. I used to think exactly the way what others have posted above, and thats fine. Everyone is most welcome to have an opinion and share it. I repeat, I choose to admit my own weakness rather than call those Bibeki GurSikhs as incorrect. No one saying at all that Amritdharis are better/superior. There have been a number of Gurmukhs who may not have been Bibeki, and I am never going to judge them as I am not even close to the dust of their feet. 15. Once again, guptkuri, very well written indeed. But this story about Gurujee eating at the house of Bhai Lalo has been used as a tool and put forward many times to disprove GurSikhs (or as some would like to label "AKJs") and mock their strict eating habits (Bibek or Sarabloh Bibek) of eating only from Amritdharis, and eating only in Sarabloh utensils. I know guptkuri didn't intend to do so, but for the sake of those who may post later on, I am going to say what you are going to read. First of all, I confess I am not as strong yet myself to be able to keep as much Bibek as I want to. However, I adore GurSikhs who do, while some who claim that such "bahmanvaad" isn't part of Sikhi because their "version" of Sikhi is way too liberal. So much so that sometimes even matha tek is like a ritual to them. I choose to admit my own weakness rather than call those Bibeki GurSikhs as incorrect. Lets say 5 men are sitting and there is a Sarabloh baataa in front of them. It has water and sugar pataashay in the water. Each one of the 5 men takes a Sarabloh Khanda and mixes the pataashay and water inside the baataa while reciting a Bani. This way, each of the 5 men recite 1 Bani each, thereby reciting the 5 Amrit Banis. Now note that I said men, not Singhs. What if all 5 are cleanshaven? Will you accept that Guru's Amrit has been prepared? No! Never! Thus, anything that we call "Guru da" or "Guru di", it is done by Guru vaalay, meaning Amritdhari GurSikhs. Whether its Guru ka langar or karah parshad, if its not prepared by Guru vaalay Amritdhari GurSikhs, how can you call it Guru ka langar or parshad? I admit that the local Gurdwara I go to has both langar and parshad prepared by non-Amritdharis (like 99% of Gurdwaare in USA/Canada). However, I want to explain the logic behind Bibek so that uninformed people don't label it as "bahmanvaad". Correct me if I am wrong, but I think at Siri Darbar Sahib only Amritdhari GurSikhs prepare langar. For the anti-AKJ crew on this forum, don't worry if you can't understand what I said. Read more here: http://www.tapoban.org/langar.html and please do Ardas that those who wish to be Bibeki some day (like this fool Mehtab Singh) can do so by Gurujee's kirpa. bhul chukk maaf if what I said is hard to digest I am still learning and trying to get "there"
