  1. I watched the Dudley Protest show on Sikh Channel last night at 9.30pm...now while the Gursikhs in the Studio correctly stated what occurred on the day and they did so very well but the only video's shown by Sikh Channel showed a very one sided account of the day...the videso were very aggressive and confrontational...why was the other side not shown (Simran/Jaap)? Yes a few moments were shown where simran was done but the complete focus of the videos was on the few outburst alone! I've received numerous calls from mone friends/family saying that the protest was wrong as all the youth were acting like thugs and rampaging - this was all based on what was shown on Sikh Channel - had Sikh Channel remained unbiased in the videos they showed then i'm certain that the calls i received would have been different. Only after i told my friends/family about what truly happend...only then they understood! Now i was there all day and can categorically say that there were just a few outburst but overall it remained a very peaceful protest! This was not shown at all by the Sikh Channel. This video below on facebook shows how the sangat peacefully did simran for hours upone hours...but did the Sikh Channel show this? NO...why NOT? Sikh Channel have a duty to also show the Naam Simran and Gurbani jaap that took place for hours upon hours...and not just focus on the few moments of outburst. I personally was very dishearted having watched the show as it portrayed us all as thugs...well done Sikh Channel! What can we expect from western media, when our own media did not portray the day accurately?

  2. Sikh Channel have always been at the forefront of reporting panthic issues. HOWEVER, yesterday's show was a major blot on their image. The footage shown was totally out of context and focused on a few minutes of the six hour protest. In my opinion, they focused on the that particular part purely for the ratings. Up until yesterday night I was a hardcore supporter of the Sikh Channel right from the outset and have urged others to support too. Despite personal knowledge of the owners background I thought the channel were doing a fantastic job. Last night I thought for the first time that maybe Sikh Channel is not as panthic as they portray and is only after viewing figures. I feel bad cancelling my direct debit today but I pledge to donate double what I was paying Sikh Channel to the likes of Khalsa Aid and SOPW (Ironically which I became aware of due to the channel).

  3. What a ridiculous thing to say. While I totally disagree with the slaughter of goats at Sri Hazoor Sahib, to compare the fried chicken booze ups the dudley masands wish to see carried out on Guru Sahib's land in Guru Sahib's name to what Hazoori Sikhs believe to be an age old maryada is ludicrous. What is happening at Dudley is a direct violation of Khalsa principles that none of the panth disputes. What happens at Hazoor Sahib however is based on one sampradas understanding of Sikhi and is a matter for the panth to decide through vichaar.

  4. Press Release and Sangat Update Dudley, UK - 29 May 2011 www.SatkaarCampaign.blogspot.com Dudley Gurdwara agrees to implement Akal Takht Sandesh in Sikh Cultural Centre Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh! Over 500 Sikhs from across the country gathered outside the Sikh Cultural Centre in Dudley which is part of the Guru Nanak Singh Sabha (GNSS) Gurdwara (Sikh place of worship) to attend a PEACEFUL rally against the committee and trustees of the Gurdwara. The peaceful rally took place after months of attempted discussions and dialogue with the GNSS Dudley Gurdwara by both the Satkaar Campaign and senior leaders of the UK Sikh community from various other Gurdwaras in the West Midlands. Attempts were continuously made to persuade the GNSS Dudley Gurdwara committee to follow Gurmat Maryada (Sikh code of conduct) and specifically the 2006 Sandesh (edict) issued by Sri Akal Takht Sahib (the supreme temporal authority in the Sikh religion) which prohibits the consumption of meat and alcohol at any premises which belong to or are related to a Sikh Gurdwara. The history of this entire episode and the GNSS Dudley Gurdwara committee's refusal to meet with representatives of the Sikh community along with details of the 2006 Sandesh can be read of on our blog (www.SatkaarCampaign.blogspot.com). It was brought to the attention of the UK Sangat (Sikh Community) that the GNSS Gurdwara committee had taken a booking for a party, which would permit alcohol and meat, to be held at the Sikh Cultural Centre on Saturday 28 May 2011. A PEACEFUL rally was originally called by the UK Sangat to take place outside the Sikh Cultural Centre on that date to raise awareness of those few Sikh Gurdwara committees who allow such sacrilege to occur in the sacred properties of the Gurdwara and how this is offending and hurting Sikh sentiments. Members of the family who had originally booked the party at the Sikh Cultural Centre in Dudley on 28 May 2011 contacted representatives of the Guru Nanak Gurdwara West Bromwich to arrange an emergency meeting with representatives of the local Sikh community. The meeting took place on 25 May 2011 and was attended by representatives from various Sikh Gurdwaras in the West Midlands. At the meeting the family members explained that they were aware of the rally and that they had been told by representatives of the Dudley GNSS Gurdwara that the protesters wished to stop all Sikhs having parties in Dudley. However, having understood the nature of the rally, which was merely against such parties taking place on Gurdwara premises, they too agreed that hosting the party at the Sikh Cultural Centre in Dudley was against the principles of the Sikh religion. The family members explained that subject to finding an alternative venue at short notice they would be prepared to cancel their party. Having found an alternative venue the family duly cancelled its party booking at the Sikh Cultural Centre. This in turn led to the original peaceful rally being cancelled by the UK Sangat after consensus with Sikh community leaders and other Sikh organisations. However, for some reason which can only be interpreted as a defiant and deliberate attempt to play with the sentiments of the Sikh community, another party booking was arranged at the Sikh Cultural Centre by the GNSS Dudley Gurdwara to take place on 28 May 2011. This was confirmed by West Midlands Police to Sikh community leaders on the evening of Friday 27 May. It is widely believed that the booking was made by a committee member of the GNSS Dudley Gurdwara although this has not been confirmed. A PEACEFUL rally was called at short notice on Friday evening to take place the following day outside the Sikh Cultural Centre. A protocol was released for all attendees to observe; (http://satkaarcampaign.blogspot.com/2011/05/protocol-for-peaceful-anti-beadbi-rally.html) Despite such short notice the rally was attended by approximately 500 Sikhs young and old alike including men, women and children from across the country. The attendees included representatives from various other Sikh Gurdwaras in the Midlands. Following various discussions and attempts at mediation during the rally, representatives of the GNSS Dudley Gurdwara management committee and trust, present at the Sikh Cultural Centre, agreed to sit down with representatives of other Sikh Gurdwaras and other Sikh community leaders. Following discussions between them in the presence of the West Midlands Police, the GNSS Dudley Gurdwara representatives accepted that their actions had infuriated the sentiments of the Sikh Community for which they were apologetic. The representatives confirmed that the Sikh Cultural Centre was indeed part of the GNSS Dudley Gurdwara estate and that it would remain so. They crucially accepted that the GNSS Dudley Gurdwara would now implement the 2006 Akal Takht Sandesh by way of prohibiting parties with meat and alcohol at the Sikh Cultural Centre and all other premises belonging or related to the GNSS Dudley Gurdwara with immediate effect. The GNSS Dudley Gurdwara representatives agreed to sign a statement to such effect and to confirm the same in writing to the Akal Takht Sahib in Amritsar India within seven days. The full statement signed by the GNSS Gurdwara trustees and committee representatives can be read below. The Satkaar Campaign would like to express our thanks to the representatives of the GNSS Dudley Gurdwara for the courageous and historical decision that they have taken in difficult circumstances. We are also thankful to the representatives of the various Gurdwaras and Sikh organisations for their involvement on this issue, and we believe that their engagement made a foremost contribution to resolving the GNSS Dudley issue. The rally remained largely peaceful where Sikh men, women and children sat down in front of the Sikh Cultural Centre and chanted and recited prayers to raise awareness of the gross sacrilege that was taking place. Whilst the vast majority who attended remained peaceful and engaged in chanting and reciting prayers there was unfortunately a small element of disorder. The Satkaar Campaign does NOT condone any such behaviour and is, and will always remain, a PEACEFUL movement that makes all attempts to resolve issues through raising awareness and dialogue. Representatives of the Satkaar Campaign and other Gurdwaras remained in full dialogue with the West Midlands Police before and during the rally. We have one humble Benti (appeal and request) to make to the worldwide Sangat: we request the Sangat to increase our Bani/Simran abhiyaas for the Chardikala of the Khalsa Panth to become united in our thinking and collectively resolve these issues through PEACEFUL means. We further humbly ask those few Gurdwara committee who permit meat and alcohol onto Gurdwara properties to adhere to the 2006 Akal Takht Sahib Sandesh. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh!

  5. Please take a deep breath and read again what I wrote, dont' panic yaar! But as your on the topic, my opinion is that force is justified after spending months pleading, sending letters, seeking guidance from Singh Sahib Akal Thakt, consulting elders, doing ardas, reading Maharaaj's Hukamnama, doing chaupai sahib - then yes (i personally would have skipped a few stages) Meat Curry? served with a pint? thats Langur? :ohmy2: issnt that what they were singing before they crapped themselves? :blush2:

  6. Well done to Satkaar Sewadars for highlighting this issue to the wider community. Your tireless efforts in trying to dissolve this issue long before it went to protests is hugely appreciated by all Sikhs. In a time where most people show no respect to their own friends, Satkaar showed total respect to this besharam committee with continuous dialogue and constructive debate. For a Sikh, Pehla waar should be kalamaan da, Satkaar sewadars sent letter after letter, with utmost respect for the committee, they then went direct to Singh Sahib, Akal Thakt for confirmation. Satkaar went out of their way to have numerous sit-downs with the committee in polite and diplomatic dialogue. Satkaar Sewadar could NOT have done any more if they tried. The protest was made up of SANGAT, who felt outraged by the committees continuous disrespect. The Sangat was not called or associated to Satkaar Campaign. The Sangat are individuals with their own minds, not brain-less thugs lead by "ring leaders". Give the Khalsa more credit than that. The police allowed an otherwise peaceful protest to be provoked by the committee. They allowed the provocative remarks to disrupt prayers. They had NO knowledge how sacrilegious activities affects the sentiments of the Sikh community. Their general attitude and sympathy towards the committee and heavy handedness towards protesters further inflamed the situation. They could have got community leaders together to have an emergency meeting with the committee to calm the situation BEFORE hand. to sum up: Countless letters sent to the committee by Satkaar Numerous meetings held Confirmation from Akal Thakt Jathedar on this situation On the day of protests: Prayers and Ardas interrupted by Provocative remarks from the committee. Bhangra music turned up on purpose as a deliberate attempt to silence the simran. Disorder & damage? lol few broken windows and a few pots of spilt dhaal. they have more damage after their booze-ups The Building belongs to the Panth. The ownership on paper is in the Name of Sri Guru Granth Sahib ji Maharaaj. whilst the Khalsa sits in prayers and massand provoke and laugh what do you expect to happen? you can call them extremists, thugs, gundeh, gangsters.. I Call them Sikhs. If nothing had happened to stop this beadbi in the presence of the Khalsa, in sharan of simran - then what good is the Khalsa? Every congressi would open a Gurdwara party club Even the police realised very quickly to put down the batons because Sikhs meant business. Goreh can blah blah about liberal freedoms that can not be sacrificed in this country- remember the 200'000 Sikhs who died to defend your freedom? remember when you split our raaj, made our people crawl like dogs on the streets of amritsar? remember when you killed our mothers and fathers in jallanwalabagh? Apneh need to stop kissing gorah a**

  8. Having had a chance to sleep on it and after talking to a few Singhs, my opinion on the situation has changed somewhat. I want to write a few pages of words to explain myself but I've not got the patience so I'll keep it short. The general population is being emasculated and frightened by those in power so that we take whatever crap is dished out to us without even a murmur. That's the first thing. Secondly, bring Sikhi into the equation and we all know we're under attack from various sides just because we refuse to die out. That's the truth of the situation. Now there's a new dimension to proceedings where Sikhs are being used against Sikhs in order to create splits in the Sikh faith. There will come a time where amritdhari's will be labelled as "extreme" and monay or sehajdharis will portray themselves as the liberal alternative. What's the end game of this policy? Dissuade future generations from bringing up their children as amrtidhari or in saroop so that Sikhi in its truest form will eventually die out. That's the big picture and something that needs to be considered. This is what is extremely worrying. But that's a discussion for another day. Whilst I don't condone violence and attacks on authorities (no matter how incorrect these people are), if we don't stand up for ourselves we're done for. I hope in the future our youth will not have to resort to such heavy-handed tactics - no matter how just - in order to get things done. Remember, we're not just sipahis we're supposed to be sants too. But anyway, that's my feeling on the situation and I hope God will bless those who had to take drastic measures in order to protect His legacy and his institutions.

  9. the problem with sikh channel is that it is coordinated by a bunch of novices on little money who couldnt care less about anything... the onlyu reason they showed this was so as to incrrease viewer ratings...again this leads me onto my mool mantra of this forum - reform reform reform....if the same sort of thing happened in muslim community would their channels show a biased picture of events. weve got donkeys running gurdwara's wee got donkeys running the media we got hundreds of different donkey groups in india, the chardikala singh/singhnees need to get together and be properly organised and efficient..all youth start attending your local gurdwara every evening be their and arrange meetings and work from there

  15. Why didn't Sikh Channel show the Simran, Chaupai Sahib, Ardaas, Meeting with Committee/Trustees, the nagara etc? Why the dangerous bias from the Sikh Channel? Sangat TV did a good job projecting the protest on their earlier show covering the real element of the protest whilst also discussing the disorder that took place There's no denying that there was some disorder and the Police will no doubt investigate as is their job, but the protest largely revolved around Singhs, Singhniya and kids sitting down doing chaupai sahib and simran to the beat of a nagara..... The fact that Sikh Channel specifically showed damaging footage makes me think there's a bias agenda. At least show the balanced side of the protest!

  17. I'm try to put this in a perspective that sums up what happened. First the Gurdwara committee lied that they would stop the parties in the hall. However some Singhs did not trust their word and still went to protest and when they showed up to the hall, they did a peaceful protest. No Singh caused any violence or provoked anyone into a fight. But then you have some party goers come out of the party where they must have been drinking alcohol, eating their meat, and dancing. These party goers provoked the Singhs by challenging them to stop the beadbi. These Singhs took up the challenge because Maharaj is at first being slandered and then Maharaj fauj is being mocked to stop the insults toward Maharaj. If any Singh can stand there and do nothing after that takes place, then they don't know what the true meaning of being a Singh is. This challenge was directed at Maharaj to get up and do something if this beadbi is so bad. It is the Singhs duty to serve Maharaj when this takes place. Maharaj blessed the Khalsa Panth with the Saroop of Guru. If this Saroop can't stand up for Maharaj then who would? The Singhs did everything right by taking the challenge and I wish those that challenged the Singhs got a good bashing. Next time they won't mock Maharaj. There is no mercy for those that go to these lenghts to drag Maharaj's name in the dirt.

  18. Ha if it were upto people like you, everyone would be sitting on chaddarraan outside doing simran whilst people inside were sessioning and dancing. Where would this situation have got to if those singhs didnt force their way in? You like sitting behind computers telling people how it should be done. your ideals are not realistic in the real world. you hold your own community back

  19. Having watched the footage on Sikh Channel all I have to say is shame on you Dudley Committee for causing this to happen. I don't understand how you can sit inside eating meat and drinking alcohol while Guru Gobind Singh Ji's children are doing simran on the floor outside. I don't understand how can you have no problem with causing the children of Dashmesh Pita to be beaten by the police. I don't understand how you can spit in the face of your Guru. How do you sleep at night?

  21. My best friend recently died from alcohol at the age of 33 he has left behind a widow and a son aged 8 years, this was due to the fact him associating with people who drink "one can of beer", "one bottle of bacardi" or "one bottle of whiskey" to celebrate their sons "engagement", "marriage", "birthday" this was the reward of happiness for his parents - let me point out my best friend was the only son! My best mate and myself grew up together surrounded by these halls that promoted partying, consumption of alcohol and meat in the name of Sikhi! The "community", "family" and "friends" encouraged this type behaviour and linked it Dharam (faith!). Now, guru sahib tells the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth.. "Mother, father, spouse, children and wealth will not go along with you in the end. Kabeer says, meditate on God. Your life is uselessly wasting away" ang 1251 When I see his parents (my beloved aunty and unclejee) they are now despondant - they now appear like the living dead, walking this earth and everytime I visit them, my aunty cries in my arms! So, dear friend.. who do they turn to ? to someone like you for the answer why their son is no more? because he enjoyed a drink! O! another instance has come to my mind.. was a number of years back a youth attended a party at a local "Sikh" community hall and he had a "few drinks", guess what at the age of around 23 years he came home drunk, laid down on the sofa too sleep and passed away due to choking on his own vomit! So, my brother dont come around acting self-righteous, making condesending remarks. Come in front of them parents who have lost their beloved Putts (sons) at young age, if you have real courage rather than tapping away at a keyboard! I am not going to apologise for feeling passionate because no one should die at a young age to these punjabi unintellectual attitudes and thought-processes. I cannot begin to show my appreciation to what Satkaar are doing and awakening the panth up from their slumber and educating the masses.

I thought it was hilarious and am sure he was intended to make it funny. Personally, I don't drink though, in the end they stressed ekta and for everyone to drink cha. I guess if it's for ekta, then why not lol. Lighten up sisters/brothers.

  25. It's funny racism in Canada is hidden as opposed to US which is more open. There are many frustrated anglo saxon european whites here who let it out on internet because of hate crime laws, most of them get married late or divorced, have one or two kids if any compare to asians who is making right, left and center and working very hard to integrate the kids with the western society but at the same time not annihilate them into western culture. they even predicted here in 2020 whites will be in visible minorities in metropolitan cities like Toronto, Vancouver and Calgary.

  28. Anyone who preoccupies themselves with vilifying and constantly lamenting foreigners are right wing to me. Maybe not to the extent of the BNP, but they are barking up up similar trees. One just has more teeth/bite than the other. The middle classes being averse to actually engaging in violence themselves, instead help create the very atmosphere that fosters hate and resentment with their vitriol, which the proletariat act on. You call that Daily Mail coverage balanced. You're having a larf. Look at how they jump straight into the usual vocabulary if 'militant' 'extreme' blah blah blah despite the fact that you get infinitely more violence at football matches all the time.

  29. Just so people know. The Daily Mail (also affectionately known as the 'Daily Hate') is a right wing, WASPcentric, anti foreigner newspaper which is surprisingly popular in Britain. It's like an educated, angry, frustrated (mainly at foreigners and the demise of the British empire) Anglo-Saxon's publication of choice.

  30. singhfauja you have mentioned relating side issues, im just stating the obvious. Where did the 'nang' fauj come into it? FYI I do not know where the woman goes and who she visits either. :rolleyes2: lol, what a way to sideline the issue. I couldn't give a flying EFF about them two things either jee. Try mentioning a few more conspiracies maybe, lol? Do you blindly follow panthic.org, work for them or a part of the 'JATHA' or something that you don't allow yourself to see the point that was made? :nono: Goli Maro, think what you want jee but there is more to that video then is being shown. Not even the woman and the Swami are seen together in it. Before you say they are seen together in other videos I'm on about the house video thats shows supposedly the 'Sikh Parchariks At Hate Monger Sadhvi'S Uk Divan' , lol.

  35. Panthic.org state this on their site 1) "London, UK - In a newly released video, the notorious Hindu Sadhvi Rithambhrai, who leads VHP's Army of Durga, and vows that those minorities that challenge the unity of Hindustan will be crushed and killed like dogs is seen in sangat of several Sikh parchariks before a Havan is performed at that residence." This as already mentioned cannot be the case as their is no concrete footage showing this. 2) "It is assumed that this video was recorded on the same day when the Havan and Aartee occurred - although it is not known whether Baba Randhavewala or Giani Avtar Singh were present when those rituals took place." in reference to the last video segment where Nirmala got clocked with his wet hair down trying to dry it by a fire, lol! I find it hard to believe that Nirmala has got two homes where he resides unless one is for when he lets his hair down and the other for when he ties a turban. Moreso the two houses in the video both have patio doors, unless it is one house with a patio door at the front with a tent and a shed in the drive, lol. The way they present the article and using the captions and title is misleading, biased, and unfactual. Instead of being senationalists like Panjabi/India media they should be more rational. Finally I couldn't give a monkey's about who this and that person is and whether they are a man of God, Baba or whatever and if they have the minerals to stand up for the truth when it counts such as at a hate speech which the nutcase woman gives frequently. What have stated is a blatant misrepresentation of events as per imho, any rational thinking person would be able to also deduce that there is no truth behind the following title statement. "SIKH PARCHARIKS AT HATE MONGER SADHVI'S UK DIVAN" They have implied the plural and not the singular. The only Parcharik there clocked on the video in the presence of the woman is Nirmala The rest is up to them what they do with their lives, but it ain't no business of mine. :biggrin2:

EVERYONE WHO ATTENDED POST ON THE DUDLEY NEWS AND VOICE YOUR CONCERNS HOW THEY ARE ABUSING THEIR JOURNALISM AND MEDIA POWER IN THE COMMENTS BOX. 42. In no way is Gurmat saying the next time the Uk Sangat is going to tackle this beadbi again at a different Gurdwara that the Singhs should jump to voilence. The Gurdwara are run by these committees separately and every committee must be dealt with like they were in the past. Sit down with them and ask for peace and the beadbi to stop. Some are telling others to go out and cause fights with others. Don`t listen to a word of these anti-gurmat people. They look for opportunities like these to purposely get Singhs locked up in the criminal justice system......it`s not a fun position to be in. Defend when you have too, but don`t cause the violence.

  44. Just because someone manages to pick up the language of the country they've spent most of their life in, above the level of your average Sun reading, semi literate ape, doesn't necessarily make them a 'literary type' in my eyes. I just simply tried to set enough standards for myself, so that I had at least a half decent ability to communicate in writing. Nothing else. The Daily [Hateful] Rant has a long history of expressing matters with a particular....erm....shall we say 'slant', that leaves one with the impression that the average reader and indeed the publishers themselves, still hanker for the good old colonial days. Their now legendary expressions of horror at impending change and the 'frightful' behaviour of 'uncivilised' foreigners makes the the label 'right wing' one that aptly and accurately describes them. In fact, I don't think the term 'bigoted' would be out of place here either. What I find most curious is the idea that a Sikh (no less, presuming you are one) fails to recognise this whilst one could easily find hordes of indigenous whites here who openly state this fact. The mind boggles!
