  1. International Sikh Conference Update Press Release & Sangat Update Birmingham UK. 25 August 2011 www.SatkaarCampaign.blogspot.com Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh! Hundreds of Sikhs gathered at the Sikh Channel studios on 21st August 2011 in Birmingham, UK to hold a live telecast Panthic conference on the horrific Beadbi (sacrilege) of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji's Saroops in Udhampur Nalla, Punjab last week and the on-going Beadbi which also takes place in India and the UK. Representatives from the major UK Panthic Jathebandiaans attended as well as members of the UK Sikh Sangat. The majority of the attendees of the conference communicated an overwhelming passion to stand up to the issues of Beadbi within the UK, especially the issue of the gross beadbi regarding Gurdwara Halls permitting meat, alcohol and parties. Some members of the UK Sikh Sangat expressed a frustration built up over the years where a feeling that Jathebhandi leaders in the UK may not have done enough to address these issues of beadbi. The telecast highlighted a strong voice of emotion and hurt felt from the Beadbi towards Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji Maharaaj, and it was clear that the general UK Sangat contributing to the show unanimously supported the following action points: 1. To educate all Sikhs about Guru Sahib Ji and the Satkaar and Seva needed in Gurdwaras in the UK and Punjab 2. To unite and further the grassroots Satkaar Campaign Gurdwara reform movement to ensure that all Beadbi in the UK is stopped immediately, so that the UK can be an ideal example of Satkaar for Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji Maharaaj 3. Support active Gursikhs in India with resources, cash etc. whatever they need to continue and enhance their fight to stop the Beadbi of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji's Saroops. The Satkaar Campaign's Sevadaars feel that it is now more important than ever that the UK Sikh Sangat unites to voice its concern that the authority of Akaal Takhat Sahib is being undermined and Satkaar for Sri Guru Granth Ji Maharaaj is deteriorating. As we have said all along, it is the duty of every Sikh to be alert on these issues. Collectively, nothing can stop the UK Sangat on this issue, since Gurmat is firmly on our side. Further, we have one final Benti (request) to all Panthic Jathebandiaan in the UK: whilst we recognise and thank you for the ongoing support you have provided to the Satkaar Campaign whenever requested, we would humbly request that you each take a PRO-ACTIVE approach towards maintaining Satkaar for Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji, rather than a RE-ACTIVE one. We are convinced that, with Guru Ji's blessings, all Beadbi relating to Gurdwara party halls can be stopped in a matter of days if the offending Gurdwara committees get the firm and united message from all UK Panthic Jathebandiaan that Beadbi will no longer be tolerated in the UK. The Satkaar Campaign's Sevadaars are always willing to speak to, and work with, any individual or Jathebandi, at any time to further the Satkaar Campaign agenda. We look forward to hearing from such Panthic Jathebandiaan in the UK so that we can collectively work together to stop Beadbi happening in the UK. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh!

  2. You guys cant win this war by being aggressive and hostile towards women because of their tastes and preferences. You cant bully, embarass, scold or lecture them into believing that sikhi saroop is attractive and that they should marry men with dastaar and dara. Alot of this is a problem with perception. By being a Singh, you are associating with the Singh brand. What does this represent to you, and what does it represent to the rest of the world, including our own women folk? Look at the Singh brand nowadays? What does it represent? To some it represents, saints, warriors soldiers, brave, regal and noble men. This = attractive (category 1) However, for some people it represents strict doctrine, sexist, backward conservative, rigid and old school, pindu cultural values. For others it represents lack of education, closed minded thinking, religious fundamentalism, maybe even terrorism. This = unattractive. (cateogory 2) Unfortunately for us, Singhs come in all shapes and sizes. In India, a Singh is someone who dances bhangra and fills himself with liquor... A daler mehendi type figure fits this stereotype that most Indians outside of Punjab have of Singhs. What negative stereotypes do UK girls possibly have about Singhs? They must have come in contact with some Singhs or some of those stereotype qualities in order to have formed that view. As far as possible, you want your own branding to be associated with category 1 above and avoid cateogry 2, in order to be considered attractive. To change the situation all together, all Singhs need to associate with category 1 so that this becomes the norm and category 2 no longer exists. Only then will Singhs be considered attractive in the Punjabi mainstream, let alone outside the punjabi community.

  3. WJKK WJKF I am a Gursikh boy and i am really confused about one thing. How much Gurbani should be recited daily. Presently i do only Nitnem. As i am software engineer , so when ever i have free time , i have to learn the new programming stuff to keep me updated in my career But there are my friends , who do their work and in free time , i mean in weekends , they recite Gurbani as much as possible. Now my career is like that i have to spend time on learning. Does Guru ji want their sikh to always recite Gurbani , do nothing to advance in career. I am confused. When i see my friends , then i think that they are lucky to have that profession because , they do physical work and even recite gurabni while working . But My work is entirely Mind based and thinking , so when i do coding , i can't recite GUrbani. Does it mean that my friends will go faster in GOD's path and i will stay behind because i am programmer. Can anyone shed light on that??

  4. Sorry to tell you once more, again Satnam. Because He is unchangeable, that is why He is sat or truth, because He is eternal and unchangeable. He is beyond mind, or Kal. He is Karta Purukh, He is the doer of everything. He is Ajoonee, He is neither born nor dies like other creatures, He is beyond Parlay and Mahaparlay, He is Nirbav and Nirver, He is fearless and thus without any enemy, He is realized as per Gurparsad, only with the grace of the Guru. Nobody´s experience can be a base or a platform of beleif for others, it is for each individual. We as students when we are in school, we faithfully follow the teachings of what we are taught, we are then limited. But if we apply ourselves diligently in the studies and hardwork, we may one day reach the level of those teachers. That is the same in spirituality, we have to do abyaas to gain purity, shed our past impressions of karmas and sanskaras or call it agyanta, and merge through a technique in that eternal truth known as Satnam. But if we do not apply and study hard, and just ask the professor or other students questions of all sorts.... hardly shall we gain any improvement and achieve anything in life. Spirituality is by applying ourselves to it through some sort of sadhna, diksha, or technique.... not by mere theoritical studies. If that was the case, Ravan was a scholar, and had mastered the vedas, but that did not stop him from being a rascal and do inmoral acts freely. On the other side by the sacred practice of Nam Simram, one sheds off all impurities, gains real knowledge, and thus speeds it progress towards it´s goal, in the vehicle of Shabad or Nam, towards Satnam. Those who consume drugs, though taken in same amount and at the same time, have different experiences. But those who apply to Nam, all will say the same things experienced, that is why our Gurus, or Kabir Sahib, Sant Nam Dev, Guru Ravi Das, Paltu Sahib... all talk of that same reality in the same terms, though they are from different backgrounds and locations. Because that reality is only one, whether you are a hindu, a sikh, an isaee or a muslim. If you try to find that reality ouside, one will be lost in diversity and discussions; but if we go and see it inside, it will be same for all. That is why it is said in the Bani: Anter Jot, Niranter Bani, Sachay Sahib Siu Liv Lae. In this way, it is the same for all, as taught by our beloved Gurus.

  5. From the teachings of our Gurus and thus as stated in the Bani, there are countless planets, and universes and so are the Brahmas, Shivas or Vishnus... and the 33 crore gods. But as we can see, all of them are not of the same status. On the contrary, in the begining of Jap Ji Sahib, Guru Nanak has clearly, beautifully and with authority stated: Ik Onkar, Satnam, which means God is only one, without any more, and His name is Satnam. All these so called gods are just entities with a certain level of consciousness. All of them compared to Wahiguru Akal Purukh, are just like tiny sparks compared to the light of millions of Suns together, just to say something, because Wahiguru is much much much more. Anyhow, no amount of discussions is going to satisfy anybody, unless each one of us, goes inside and sees it by himself. These hindu gods, are entities on a lower level, they are inside the limits of Maya and Kal. On the contrary, Wahiguru or Satnam, is beyond Kal and Maya, that is why, He is known as Akal Purukh. Take it from any point or angle, Wahiguru is the Supreme being. Namely it may sound as Wahiguru is the Lord for sikhs only, but actually, Wahiguru or Satnam, are just words to describe that Primal and Supreme being. He is a consciouss power, energy and an unlimited ocean of bliss. Words and languages can create disputes among different religions, but if each one of us, goes inside and sees it for himself, and reaches the level of consciousness called Satnam, will agree that what we tend to limit with words, and ideas is something unique and beyond description in human terms. He is Ooch Apaar Beant Swami... He is limitless. And that power or energy reffered to, is known in our Bani as Shabad, as Nam also, for example, mentioned by Guru Amar Das in Anand Sahib. So we can see, this description of Wahiguru can pacify and make all of us equal,as no one is really superior or inferior, no names or languages are thus right or wrong. For example, let us take the planet Sun, we all know what it is, but the word Sun is in English, and the same is Sol in Spanish or Surya in Hindi.... now if different people fight saying my Sun is superior...that would be ridiculous. But if any of them look at the same time when the Sun has risen, all of them will agree, that there is only one Sun. In the same way, if we elevate our consciousness or souls in the inner spiritual realms, we shall all decalre the same properties or qualities of that Sun experienced by us, like the sunlight, the heat...etc. But unless we can get these desirable spiritual experiences, which, again are dependentant on several factors, but mainly on His grace or Daya Meher, what we can only do, is a due research, and get our own conclusions. And for that, my experience says, we should read and understand the Granth Sahib througly as well as other scriptures, and we shall see that what our Guru Sahibans, have said, are the the most beautifull, at the same time the simplest and highest truths, without any comaprison or parralell.

  9. D'oh! See the first page in which I compared the panktis Niddar quotes with his own interpretation. The errors are pretty clear. As to the name, see the older pages of his website by typing in the name of his website in something like the waybackmachine . From 2002 onwards, the name has changed from Sikh Shastar Vidiya to Indian Sikh Shastar Vidiya to Sanatan Sikh Shastar Vidiya to the latest version Hindu Sikh Shastar Vidiya. K.

  11. Sikh Channel have organised another Sikh conference this Saturday, however this time it's "exclusive" to Jathebhandis even though it will be telecast. I sincerely hope it's an effective gathering and not a "sweeping under the carpet" excercise. Those attending and representing the UK Sikh community need realise that any non-commitments will be transparent to the Panth. The issue of beadbi is international and not just confined to Punjab, many will not realise what Satkaar Campaign are having to do behind the scenes with convos with Prabhandak Committees, Families, Wedding Organisers, Granthis who are still willing to carry out the beadbi of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji's Saroop and Gurdwara Properties. Just for this coming weekend 2 Anand Karajs were planned in inappropriate venues and 1 party was planned in a Gurdwara Hall, which with the kirpa of Guru Ji have been resolved. In the last 8 years (since 2004) no established Jathebhandi has done much to combat the beadbi of Guru Ji's Saroop being taken to Hotels, Banqueting Halls and the beadbi of Party Halls in Gurdwara properties. It has been the common Sikh from the street who has stood at UK morchay outside Hilton Hotel, Baylis House, Lakeside Hotel, Clay Oven to name a few as well as morchay at Gurdwaras such as Northampton, Milton Keynes, Leeds, Sunderland, Grays and Dudley. The leaders who continually give us lip service and use excuses about the "long term" and "parchaar" need to realise that this is all they have beein saying for the last 8 years.

  14. Which is in direct contradiction to his Shastar Vidiya website. Perhaps you should advise him to make the necessary changes? Also, here he calls his art Sanatan Sikh Shastar Vidiya then it is Hindu Sikh Shastar Vidiya on the SV website. So which is it? Also, that's not really a direct quote is it? The first line reads on the website reads: This is another one of Niddar's lies. He is NOT the Jathedar of Buddha Dal in the UK. (Sangat can see the page quoted above on Sarbloh dot info/htmls/epilogue_sikh.html) K.

  15. I have no problems with edl making a stand, there are very valid issues that need to surface and be confronted. This is clearly never going to happen via politicians alone.. the voice of the people needs to be aired. What Edl need though, is some kind of structure. no movement can survive without a clear agenda, challenges, victories and set-backs. Just marching through streets is pointless. Not just edl, but every citizen who has any strand of moral fiber in his/her body now needs to make a stand. the drug-dealers pushing to our kids, the dirty peado gangs... the filth needs to be delt with. its no longer a time for football sing-songs.. We've seen with the rioters, there's a growing population of this country now who have zero respect for humanity at all. As for Sikh.. we have groups who tackling the issues as raised by EDL in our community. They should support their own community groups. SP, Singhrow, SAS amoungst others... Unfortunately our community also has been infiltrated by left-wing liberal sell-outs, working with government back-hands to create a false sense of "harmony" amoungst community's. "EK Saath" slough (http://www.aiksaath.com) Sunny Hundal (most devious media trouble-maker in this country), balwinder rana (turban campaign) all devious money-hungry exploiters of race-relations. These scumbags job is to divert attention from real issues, create histeria that 1000's of sikhs are going militant, only for them to then claim grants from the government to "defuse" the problem. Ek Saath- these guys used the 1990's Slough SP vs sullah fights to create a funding pool to "solve the problem" they infact just brushed over the real causes of the tension, held dumb workshops with sikh children and muslims only for a sullaah to start dating the sikh lady they employed to coordinate the whole thing! lol.. ridiculous! Sunny Hundal- with mates at bbc asian network, balwinder rana, turban campaign.. sadh sangat ji, these guys are professional Con men.. do not be fooled!! first find out how they are funding their groups and campaigns.

  18. alias ji As far as darshan is concerned, Gurmat preaches seeking darshan of Akal Purakh. Darshan of other avtars is not the goal of a Gursikh. I feel that the highest darshan is that of nirgun saroop of Akal Purakh. Through meditation on Gurbani and Naam one can achieve darshan of Akal Purakh. Maybe through meditation Gursikhs have had darshan of other avtars, prophets etc. However a Gursikh will not focus on these and continue to do bhagti to get darshan of their preetam piare . Only darshan of supreme avtar, supreme prophet, sri Akal Purakh can quench the thirst of a Gursikh. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh

  19. I admire their artistic flare but do question whether they are sensationalising the "street" more than what it actually is. Each to their own. I would rather a young punjabi lad who has an affiliation to hip hop listens to their message rather than some black gangsta. Some of Sikh Unit's stuff has a Sikhi focused message but some of it is just typical gangsta dreams!

  20. If i have had darshans I wudnt be sitting here replying to your stupid posts. and now u taking it in completely different direction, what you said before is disrespect to guru sahib, However a hindu thinks devte are supreme and a sikh thinks guru is, this does not make devi devte equal to guru. do u get that or r u a retard? U dnt have to bet ur precious life. I knw the fact that everything is possible with simran though i do not have any kamai and I believe in Gurbani.

  21. yea kirtan for sure works for everyone. let me tell u in clear words that for a sikh darshan of any devi devta is nothing. Darshan of sant is higher than any devi devta and even devi devte want darshan of sants. U need to check your theory of having darshan of all of them is same. this is just like saying if you love Osama Bin Laden and you get to see him and it is equal to seeing Guru. This is the most ridiculous example you gave. In one of ur post you were sayin that its the lack of education, I wonder how u even know the word education exits after reading your post.

  23. Too much hate on this forum ... Each and every one of us in the Panth have their own beliefs/perceptions/viewpoints of Sikhee ... And there are many Arths for GurBaanee/Ithiaasic Granths ... A GurMukh that is taught at Nihang Chaunni's would have the views of the Chaunni that they learnt from, likewise with Nirmalas, Taksaal, etc. There are some 'GurMukhs' that don't even consider Sri Dasam Granth Sahib Jee as Dasmesh Pitha Jee's Baanee and some 'GurMukhs' that don't even consider Raag Maala as Baanee of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Jee Maharaaj - But no-one dares to challenge them or 'bash' them as threads get closed at once and members be put on quality control, etc - rightly so as it's each to their own - But the same case doesn't seem to apply with Niddar/Shasthar Vidiya threads ... I have read a few threads on here and most of them are not even related to Niddar/Shashthar Vidiya and all you see are posts ridiculing and bashing each other for their views and most of all maligning the name/art of Shasthar Vidiya - (which doesn't ultimately end with Niddar and his Akhaara). This forum seems to have become 'The National Niddar/Shasthar Vidiya HATE Campaign' ... Come on people, get a grip ...

After speaking with Sikhs in the EDL, a number of edl members including Tommy himself went to the sikh camp, had a chat with the Sikh organisers and then went into the local areas trying to find the youth involved to educate them. Even though the actual youths involved were not found, the edl lads managed to speak to other local youths and the locals now no the differnece between muslims and SIkhs, http://englishdefenceleague.org/forum/showthread.php?8820-Sikh-Summer-Camp-of-125-kids-in-Chigwell-attacked

  27. Lol. I can see what you mean. I want to move for the weather. I also met an Egyptian guy who is from there but has been living in the UK for around 11 years. He was telling me why he wants to move back to Egypt. What he said was convincing. The old regime is under reform with the recent riots and all. Once it is reformed and there is a new and legit government, Egypt's wealth will become more visible. Apparently, it is a very rich country but the money was being kept by Mubarak and not being used properly. I'm considering a few other places too. But to be honest, this country (UK) is going downhill. I think it has had it. So many people are saying this now. Even white English people are moving away.

  29. He has clearly stated in his post that Hindus & Sikhs make up 14% of whom are on housing benefits. Media persons need to stop generalising asians and painting asians with the same brush, they should be specific in their news reports and mention pakistani's instead of terming them simply asian and in turn dragging all of us in.

  34. What looks interesting about this is this person seems to be quite happy. I don't see a black eye or any red marks on his face. Lot of the times it has been seen as a you do yourself hair cut and get away with it, and make others scapegoats. He would have to be quite brutly restrained to have his hair cut forceably.

  35. The BNP are a broken force. They have major internal issues and dont seem to have recovered from what happened to them in the last general election. As for the EDL, look at what happened during the riots. Whilst Sikhs came out in force to protect religous, commercial and private property, the EDL were sitting at home munching on their Tesco Value Curries or racing around in white vans doing their Christmas shopping. Sikhs have never needed anyone to achieve anything. We can do anything by ourselves if we put our mind to it.

  36. Also worth checking the sarbloh site. The folowing directy quoted statement can be found there: " Nihang Niddar Singh, under the supreme command of the Panjvah Takht Shromani Panth Akali Nihang Singh Khalsa 96 Crore Budha Dal Chalda Vaheer, or any of his Shagirds (students), associates who run or contribute to the websites, do not worship any deity but Ekh Nirankar Akal Va-eh Guru, the three Sikh scriptures, Akali Nihang Singh Khalsa Panth (Spiritual Way), Udhasi, Nirmala and Sevapanthi Sikh Panth and the Shastars (traditional weapons employed in Sanatan Sikh Shashter Vidiya).t has to be noted that in accordance with the teachings of the Adi Guru Durbar, we as Sanatan Sikhs do greatly respect Brahma, Vishnu and Mahesh (Hindu dieties) etc., as great Bhagats (devotees) of Nirankar (formless) Va-eh Guru. n fact, all who expound and love the truth and the message of universal peace and Ekta (Oneness/brotherhood) we respect and bow our heads in reverence to, be they of whatever faith, race, caste, colour or creed. What we are today, be it a Sikh, Hindu, Muslim, Christian, Buddhist, etc., is all according to the will of Sanatan God. In Adi Guru Durbar, Akali Guru Nanak writes: 'We have no power to speak or stay silent. We have no power to ask or give. We have no power to live or die. We have no power to attain kingdoms, wealth or the fame that is born of them. We have no power for spiritual awakening, or knowledge or thinking. We have no power to know the method by which to attain salvation from the world. He who has this power He alone employs it. Oh Nanak no one is high or low [meaning all are As Va-eh Guru intended them to be].' ('Adi Guru Durbar', Japji Sahib) So to reiterate again for those foolish narrow-minded, biggoted, puritanical Sikh fanatics who only see God in there own narrow-minded perceptions of religion, Niddar Singh Nihang speaks as follows: "I am an Akali meaning 'one who worships one Akal (Immortal God)' and I am a Nihang meaning I have 'no attachment but to one Akal'. I greatly respect the ancient Sanatan Hindu deities as Bhagats of Nirankar God in accordance with ancient Akali Nihang Sikh tradition."

  38. Having looked at both Niddar Singhs sites, I believe their is no contradiction in what is stated in his interpretation of Sikhi. He seems consistent in his beliefs, and the full title of the art in the SV site is "Sanatan Hindu Sikh ShasterVidya" which includes both the titles mentioned, and seems the fuller title name. You may not accept his interpretation and beliefs but he does appear consistent and methodical, quoting historical and scriptural references to support his views.

Your believes are all based on concepts you have read and none that you can say or prove to yourself. Why should I listen to you? Would Bhai sahib agree with your language of calling other retards? Thanks for telling me but that's another reason you should not be posting on here and why I shouldn't listen to you and your 'beliefs' Please listen to more keertan!

  41. Thank you for that well written piece. Anyway lets now put experiences aside; as to have an experience there must be an object to be subjective of. You talk about elevating our consciousness, let me ask you to what level can you rise your consciousness to become fully objective? Then do experiences matter and can they be taken as absolute also to what level is consciousness perceived as truth? Or let's put it to simply when you are having experiences what was there that remained permanent and did not change? (As experiences are always changing)

  42. The funny thing is a hindu would say hanumaan is superior, a Christian would say Jesus is superior and a sikh would say that the gurus are superior. But all I said was having darshan of anyone of them is the same. What is so bad about that? You need to relax and learn how to have a convo properly. I say see your gp and get some anti psychotics. Or do some keertan hopefully that will calm you down.

  43. Have you had darshan? Yes, you may have read books but have you experienced it? If not back away and be quiet I bet you this if you perceive Osama bin Laden's image as to be guru jis image and if you keep on doing simran everyday and beg for guru ji's darshan. I bet you my life that you would get darshan of guru ji as Osama.
