^^Same here, I would also put seva for the poor and needy as a total priority. I would ensure that funds are raised within the sangat to ensure that many starving people and esp. many with only days to live are fed and lives are saved.

I'd use the money collected for providing ways of translating Gurbani into English and lure in the youth. All of the costs for bills etc would be displayed for Sangat to see and query if necessary. Promotion alongside of Sikhism too.

The chief gods of Heaven will long for the company of the Khalsa. Their way of life the sole Name of God. They find peace in singing praises of the Lord. To them friends and enemies are alike, brother, And other than their God they know not another. Millions upon millions of sins they wash. They are removers of sufferings, givers of life. Heroic warriors, men of their word, Even Maya (illusion) by saints was deceived. The gods and angels long for their company. Their blessed glimpse never fruitless be. Serving them always bears fruit. Nanak with hands folded prays, O Lord, storehouse of virtues, bless me with saints' service.

Well there are no leaders of the world that are presently Brahmgyanis, which shows how misled society is- when logic(mind) overpowers the heart, leadership is bound to be poor.

yubacitysingh, you sound like a broken record. How many times will you ask the same question over and over again? I'm putting an end to this thread. If out of shape singhs bother you this much, I suggest that you go and personally talk to them to get an explanation of why they are out of shape.

If I had a chance to run a gurdwara, I would translate Gurbani in English for the youth, organise activities for the youth like question time where the youth can ask questions about the Sikh religion. Since most gurdwara have halls the hall that I would be a massive museum where I would have all the gurus teachings, what they taught, what they believed in and what they stood for. All the sacrifices with massive pictures underneath I would have descriptions in English and punjabi. All finaces published on the notice board and the gurdwara website on a weekly basis.

Akal Purakh is everywhere. So by reading/listening to Gurbani at home/alone you are transferred amongst the Sadh Sangat of the true Sain!

May I suggest Sikhs stop calling themselves 'militant'. Our enemies describe us as 'militant' because they wish to imply that their reasoning is the sane normal one and that any viewpoint that differs from theirs is a 'militant' 'extreme' one. As far as we Sikhs are concerned it is the Indian viewpoint that is 'militant' and 'extreme'. It is the one full of hate, murder and rapes. Please don't call yourselves 'militant'.

To train the body in order to attract the opposite sex is manmat and contradictory to Gurmat. We exercise so that we can be healthy and also increase endurance, strength etc to help in combat. I see kesdhari Singh's wearing tight tshirts and jeans. Such Singh's do not look good. A true Singh will wear clothes that do not expose his body shape such as kurta pujama or loose fitting clothing. A Gura ka Sikh seeks the nazar (glance) of Akal Purakh and not the opposite sex.

If a Singh's only motivation to stay in shape is to attract girls, then he has no right to call himself a Singh. Stay in shape because Guru Har Gobind Sahib told Sikhs to train their bodies and be strong.
