  1. Bhai Sahib Ji you shouldn't be this rude, I personally respect white sikhs and teaching of yogi harbhajan... Instead of looking how much sikhnet has done for the community we look at their avguns.. Think twice before you slander someone, guru sahib didn't teach us to slander although they teach us to love everyone.. Sikhs have gone to far from the teachings of guru sahib and with their own intellect they're telling others that they are wrong, and i mean it.. However, if you got problem with sikhnet, contact them personally.....Once, a great gursikh said if you slander someone, 100 people w

  2. Please no jokes as this will just serve to make a serious discussion into a mockery. In all honesty both Punjabi Sikhs and white Sikhs have their share of goods and bads. Yogi Bhajjan did do some good work in bringing people from a non Sikh background into the Sikh fold. For this I beleive he used Yoga to attract them. Contrary to what most might think but 3ho is not 100% in line with Yogi Bhajjan's thinking either. For example, Yogi Bhajjan was of the opinion that Homosexuality is abnormal and not in line with Gurmat lifestyle yet according to Guruka Singh and Mr Sikhnet homosexuality is per

  6. This Shabad starts on ang 966 and on ang 967, Satguru tells us about Sri Chand. Then further in the Shabad again Sri Chand is refered to and the same is said about Sri Chand. Here is the first reference. I recommend people listen to the Katha done of this shabad by Sant Baba Gurbachan Singh ji Maharaj, so we are not using our manmat to understand the shabad. Here is the Katha: audios / Katha / Puratan Katha / Sant Gurbachan Singh (Bhindran wale) / Guru Granth Sahib Larivaar Katha Raag Ramkali--Ang-966 (Vaar-Sata & Balwand)

  8. An important change needed in our Kaum today is that parcharak need to start stating their source. Traditionally, kathha of Ihihaasik granths was done ie Suraj Prakash or Panth Prakash, so people knew where information was coming from. Today we have numerous parcharaks and sants giving us 100 different versions of 1 sakhi, when there are only perhaps 2-3 sources of that sakhi. A big reason this has (and still is on the large part) overseen is because our kaum has becmoe uneducated. western youth generally don't understand or can't read Punjabi, so never know the puratan sources and the old

  9. I have already educating Gurumustuk Singh on the Sri Chand idol and he refuses to accept what Gurbani and Bhai Gurdas Ji Vaars tell us. You can't educate a person who has already made up his mind. This is not a learning mistake made by Sikhnet, but a mistake they consider to be a right action.

  10. As dalsingh veer said, this is bound to happen. They wouldn't know anything about sikh activism as they never lived in punjab during state sponsor terrorism time or practice miri-piri together in their daily lives and most punjabi wouldn't know anything about their daily sadhana they do because of punjabiyat influence in Sikhi. At this current time, both have somewhat influenced khalsa panth in its purest form- punjabis have bought punjabiyaat/penduness in sikhi and 3ho have bought hocus pocus type/ new age stuff in sikhi. It's about time both mindset acknowledge each other shortcoming and

  11. In the end though, if the panth grows, whether we like it or not, perspectives wider than those that typically comes from Panjabi Sikhs will become a part of the panth too. No community, with diverse membership doesn't have this scenario. Seems inevitable to me? Best to keep friendly, open dialogue.

  13. i have been very aware of the way sikhs have been treated in india for many years now... i am fully occupied with work and sikhi but most of my days, especailly recently, i find im burning inside... sometimes while im at work i just feel real angry inside, at the truma sikhs have gone through in india... ive met families of shaheeds in india and in europe and ive even met a shaheed who the gvt thinks is dead and it just seems so personal.... sikhs are suppose to well wish on all... i cant... i wish all those who have taken part in the continued genocide against sikhs suffering of 8.4m l

What?!!? :biggrin2: On a serious note I've reduced my intake of bread (despite consuming wholemeal / brown bread since I was a child) and it's worked wonders for me in terms of feeling less lethargic. Don't know why because bread and roti (plus the usual suspects daalah and sabziya) is all I've ever eaten because of veg diet. I'm also eating a fair amount of fresh salad with every meal and have been doing for many years now. Next step is to start training.

  16. I'll tell you some good 'superfoods' for your detox : Alsi (flaxseed) and Tulsi (holy basil) All too often we dismiss the recommendations of our elders as being ill-informed or without scientific merit but....they know what they're talking about when it comes to superfoods. Our grandparents have been telling us alsi seeds have hyper qualities for years. But we only started listening when Californian movie stars started saying the same thing and made alsi an official superfood. Same with holy basil. I remember when my wife first came over from Punjab. She was feeling quite unwell and asked m

  17. the best source i know that has in detail of what an amritdharee anand karaj is suppose to be like, http://gursevak.com/punjsanskar.html its a online pothi written in gurmukhi but easy to understand , if u have hard time reading punjabi u can listen to the recoridngs "Section 4: Details the marriage ceremony for Gurmukhs." In a Amritdhari Anadkaraj u can say its much more simpler than the average punjabi wedding, which means amrit dhari weddings focus on the anand karaj and not on the reception,, If the couple is amritdhari most ppl dont have a reception they have a kirtan in the evenin
