  2. **IMPORTANT PLEASE SHARE *** AKAL THAKT DECISION ** DHUNDA** CLARIFICATION ON DHUNDA ISSUE. **FROM: United Sikh Youth Bodies UK** Over the past week, we have seen a lot of talk about Sarabjit Singh Dhunda. Unfortunately there has been a lot of very good people, with good intentions caught up in the middle. This guy is charismatic and his debates at face-value seem very convincing and heartfelt. But senior Gursikhs from all Jathebandhis etc can clearly see through him and know his true divisive intentions. We as a Quom have still not come to terms with unspeakable atrocities at the hands of the Government of India (GOI). Justice is a far dream, but a dream that can only be achieved through unity and mutual respect. A divided Quom is a helpless Quoum, Dhunda & Co. know this, and have been deliberately sent to create divisions in the UK. The GOI want large scale disruptions in Gurdwaras, they want Dastars being disrespected in our Gurdwaras, so they can then use the videos to show Khalistani Sikhs as extremists. This is their agenda. Understanding this, large scale protests have been called off by all youth groups, until there was clarity from Sri Akal Thakt Sahib. Today, Sri Akal Thakt Sahib have announced that Dhunda is to be banned from Gurdwara stages. Singh Sabha ,Southall have respected this and stopped his talks from today, a honourable decision. There are topics regarding Sri Dasam Bani etc that some Sikhs have mixed views on, hence we support Akal Thakt’s long-standing decision to ban these from discussion in public. Sarabjit Singh Dhunda, Inder Ghagga, Darshan Ragi have been invited on numerous occasions to discuss these issues in a diplomatic, sensible and constructive way with senior scholars behind closed doors. But they have never accepted this; instead they go out to divide the moderate Sikh in Gurdwaras or by making disrespectful videos. Again if any Sikh who wants to discuss the Banis of Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji, please contact Sewa.Support@hotmail.com, senior Gursikhs will welcome an in-depth discussion behind closed doors, in a respectful and constructive manner. 3. Reform movements take place in most religions, it usually occurs when the religion has lost it's vitality and is at it's lowest ebb. This was the case with Sikhi in the 1870s. The Singh Sabha as well as the Arya Samaj were organisations that believed that the decline both respective religions were suffering was due to the fact that many rituals had come into the religions which had not basis in the holy books of each religion. The Arya Samaj believed that idol worship was a later development and was never a part of the Hindu religion. For the Singh Sabha the fact that many Sikhs worshipped idols, Guga Pir and Sakhi Sarwar, showed that Sikhi needed to go back to the teachings of the Guru Granth Sahib. Being against Sikhs worshipping idols does not necessarily mean you also need to supportive of British rule. The case in point is the Nirankaris and the Namdharis. You couldn't get more anti-British than the Namdharis in th 1870s and yet the fact thing that many Kukas did on become disciples of Baba Ram Singh was to go back to their villages and destroy the Jathera 'mattis' that dotted each village. The automatic assumption seems to be that the Sikhs of the 1840s were following the same Sikhi that existed at the times of Gurus and therefore if there is evidence that those Sikhs believed in a Sikhi that is substantially different from the Sikhi of today then the Sikhi of today is false and their Sikhi was correct. What the Singh Sabha did was look at the validity of each rite and ritual that Sikhs took part in through the teachings of the Guru Granth Sahib.

  4. WJKK WJKF Das needs some help straightening out his thoughts and thought he would ask for the advice of sangat. This is a bit of a spiel, I apologize in advance. I'm 21 years old and have no discipline what so ever. It's changing now mostly because of Guru Kirpa, I always do ardaas before doing anything and have been getting up for amritvela regularly now. It's even changed my studies as I tend to procrastinate less and actually do work ahead of time. I'm so happy that Guru sahib has taken mercy on me, but I feel very depressed it has taken so long for me to grow up. I'm in my fourth year of uni and even though my grades are not bad, they are not top notch either. I'm not stupid, I can be quite smart when I'm focused (guru kirpa). But why did it take so long? I took amrit 3 years ago, with grace of Guru ji, I have had the kirpa of doing sangat of many of the greatest gursikhs and only now am I finally stable. My studies, gurbani studies, music, physical activity all have been in limbo. I feel like I've wasted my life. Realistically I have a few years of education left and then work and quickly after marriage. What do I have to offer to a wife and children. I feel like I'm worthless. I've loved music as a child and got the best marks in the school and awards for music. But after grade 10ish when teachers stop pushing you and expect you to grow up, my life fell apart. People tried to push me to work hard but I could never do it. It was always "Ok I will", I got motivated, and hen fell apart again. So now, Im about to finish education, ok to good grades (only with kirpa), if I land a good job it will only be through immense kirpa, and I have no kirtan/music/limited gurbani skills. I feel so devastated that I ruined my life because I was lazy and undisciplined. How pathetic is that? I go to the sangat and see gursikhs who have so much kirpa on them, and understand guru sahib does everything for a reason, and that I did come into sikhi later in life and don't have the best environment (not very sikhi based family), but... and here's the problem. Is it me? Is it that my karma have pushed me in this direction? Is this what god has written for me? Or is this my fault for not taking advantage of the chances and resources given to me. Is this just a hindsight is 20/20 deal or is this how my life was supposed to play out? I feel very...crushed right now. Not hopeless because I know Guru ji will always help, but I feel like such a disappointment. Is this tere bane Sarbat ka Bhala? Is this what was best for me for this life? I feel like I'm attributing blame to guru ji which is the last thing I should be, but I need to make sense of these things so I can move on from here. My life will get better, With guru kirpa i think I am at a point where i wont fall to far again, but in order to grow I need to sort this out. I don't have anyone I feel I can ask this except the SS forum which has helped me in the past. So daas begs for a little budhi, some kind words, and harsh words are welcomed as well as I probably deserve them.

  5. Niddar and his cult have no credibility. The funny thing is when they started their 'hatti' they used to go on about how the Singh Sabha were lackeys of the British and yet his chelay and their organisations beg for money from the Lottery fund!

  11. Letter by Council of Khalistan to Indian Minister Preneet Kaur Dr. Gurmeet Singh Aulakh Ludhiana, Punjab (November 09, 2102): It is learnt that Dr. Gurmeet Singh Aulakh of Council of Khalistan has written a letter to Indian Minister and Congress Party MP, Preneet Kaur in wake of her comments against Canadian Sikh Diaspora. Recently, in a meeting with Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper Preneet Kaur had urged Canada to guard the activities of Canadian Sikhs who favor exercise of right of self-determination for the Sikh nation in India. Preneet Kaur had reportedly accused the Canadian Sikh diaspora for being “extremist”. Following is the text of letter a copy of which was sent by Dr. Gurmeet Singh Aulakh to Sikh Siyasat News (SSN): The Honorable Preneet Kaur Minister of State for External Affairs Moti Mehal, Patiala, Punjab, India Dear Mrs. Preneet Kaur: I am writing to you about your request to Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper to “suppress the voice of Khalistan” and to “keep an eye on Sikh extremists.” This is a shameful statement for any official of a democratic nation to make. Prime Minister Harper was right to remind you of the right to free speech that is a cornerstone of every democracy. I am certain that you and your husband, Captain Amarinder Singh, pray every day “Raj Kare Ga Khalsa.” It means “the Khalsa shall rule.” That, in turn, means a free and sovereign Khalistan. Are you extremists? I would remind you that your husband resigned from Parliament after the attack on the Golden Temple, for which we salute him. And as Chief Minister, he saved Punjab river water. Is he an extremist who needs to be suppressed? Former Akal Takht Jathedars Joginder Singh Vedanti, Bhai Ranjit Singh, and Professor Darshan Singh have all endorsed a free Khalsitan. Former Members of Parliament Simranjit Singh Mann and Atinder Pal Singh have openly supported it. Are they extremists who need to be suppressed? In April 2011, Atinder Pal Singh was arrested while putting up campaign posters. If a former Member of Parliament can’t put up banners and hold a press conference without getting arrested, then where is freedom of speech? The Indian courts have ruled that advocating Khalistan is not a crime. Further, the Indian Supreme Court has ruled that membership in any organization is not a crime unless the person engages in a criminal act. In 2005, 35 Sikhs, including Sardar Mann, were arrested for marching and putting up the flag of Khalistan. Your husband is the Leader of the Opposition in the Punjab Legislative Assembly. Your statement cannot be helpful to his political career or to yours. His ability to return to the Chief Minister’s post depends on the very kind of free speech about which Prime Minister Harper reminded you. Real democracies don’t suppress speech; they counteract it with other speech. Your demand of Prime Minister Harper is shameful and undemocratic. The Sikh Nation will not forget. Sincerely, Dr. Gurmit Singh Aulakh President Council of Khalistan http://www.sikhsiyasat.net/2012/11/10/5162-letter-by-council-of-khalistan-to-indian-minister-preneet-kaur/ Sikhs for Justice say Indian Minister Preneet Kaur lacks morality, credibility and respect Preneet Kaur – Congress MP (India) Ludhiana, Punjab (November 09, 2102): It is learnt that Sikhs for Justice, a Human rights and advocacy group pursuing the campaign for international recognition for Sikh Genocide 1984, has written a letter to Indian Minister and Congress Party MP, Preneet Kaur in wake of her comments against Canadian Sikh Diaspora. Following is the text of letter a copy of which was sent by Sikhs for Justice to Sikh Siyasat News (SSN): Dear Ms. Preneet Kaur, We have come to learn of the hypocritical statements that you made to the Prime Minister of Canada, Honorable Stephen Harper, on his recent state visit to India. Acting as a mouthpiece of India, your political masters may have thought it humorous to use a Sikh to attack Sikhs. Or perhaps they may have believed that because “your husband forcibly resigned from the government of India in 1984 as a sign of protest over the Indian’s decision to invade Harmandir Sahib, which Sikhs may hesitate to hold you accountable for your lies.” However, they would be wise to first assess your standing within the Sikh Nation. It is clear to everyone that you lack all morals, credibility and respect. As a woman born to a Sikh family, you know all too well the role played by your party, Congress I, in the 1984 Sikh Genocide. Many of the organizers of this genocide today hold senior positions in your party. Yet, your morals do not appear to be troubled by this unacceptable fact. It is shocking that today you seem to be concerned with anti-India rhetoric in Canada;”yet when in 1994 your husband, a former Chief Minister of Punjab, willfully signed the Amritsar Declaration (a document demanding the secession of Punjab) you had no concerns.” You are also a witness to the genocidal killings that took place within Punjab from 1984 to 1996, yet today you shamefully represent the nation state responsible for those acts, India. As your government has propagated time and time again, the indigenous people of Punjab wish for their lands to be governed by Indians. Those who advocate for the right to self-govern are a small fringe, mostly oversees in Canada with no supporters in Punjab. If this is the case, then why is your government so concerned with the actions of such a fringe group? Perhaps it may be because in reality the indigenous people of Punjab want their right to self-determination, but through the use and threat of violence your government has been able to subdue this just demand. Newspapers have quoted you as saying, “[w]e have, after very hard times, got a good situation of peace and progress back in Punjab…” but you have failed to explain who in Punjab has this “good situation”. Yes the privileged families like that of Captain Amarinder (your family), Parkash Badal, and all others who are assisting the Indians in oppressing the indigenous peoples of Punjab’s demand for representative self-governance are today living in a “good situation”. However, this is not the case for the majority Punjabis. Today over 80% of our youth have been systematically exposed to narcotics by India. The Indians are stealing over 70% of our river water while poisonously polluting the remaining 30%. Their predator loans scam has devastated the average farmer in Punjab, so much so that one farmer commits suicide every 2.5 hours. This is in addition to the denial of religious freedoms and lack of justices for the victims of the 1984 Sikh Genocide and the Genocide of Punjab. In closing, Ms. Preneet Kaur you do not represent Sikhs or Punjabi people; you only represent your own selfish interests. Today it benefits you to be an attack dog for India, so you shamelessly attack your own brothers and sisters. In the past, when it benefited your family, they supported the demand for an independent Punjab resulting in your husband signing the Amritsar Declaration. “Your disgraceful actions will go down in Sikh history and future generations will view you with the same contempt we view those who betrayed the Sikh Empire.” – Sikhs for Justice.

Sorry for crude humor, but I can't take anything that lady says seriously. I mean, just look at what her last name is. Dikshit.

  18. ok so one of the singhs who does seva with us has had one of NIdars students call up his work and make a complaint about it, i think this is really underhand and is a heinous way to conduct ourselves. I may be against nidar singhs views, but i do not condone, encourage any kind of violence or personal hurt towards any of nidars students or himself. Liek i said many of Nidars students are dear freinds of mine, I would never and have never tried to mess up anything in their personal lives because of nidar, and to do so to one of our sevadaars is the lowest of the low tactic. Some information i wanted to publish but my friends asked me not to so i agreed out of respect for their personal lives. If we fight we must fight with honour at least, i do not wish any harm on nidars family or his students families. so to try to mess up someones job is just bang out of order and if it continues we will be forced to take action. To try and put things into perspective, nidars students are feeling very hurt and upset that their classes are being stopped and nidar is being proven wrong, I understand their pain as they still trust him and respect him, but i would say to them keep an open mind and also closely watch nidar 's reactions and how he deals with all of this and then judge him yourselves. to further put things into perspective, i have also been hurt the people who i respect and love have been ridiculed and insulted which is why we all know now how it feels..... and for siding with the sworn enemy of the Sikhs, Nakli NIrankaris who killed 13 of our Singhs in 1978, For this I just cannot trust NIdar singh and his underlying agenda

  22. The British could not care less about the health of Sikhism during their rule so trying to link the promotion of Sikhism with them is ridiculous. . The British after the Indian Mutiny were careful with all religions in case there was an anti British uprising again and promoted a 'Policy of Balance' between Hindus , Muslims and Sikhs. For example the Sikh institutions such as Khalsa College in Amritsar was set up after the Hindus built a university at Beneras and Muslims at Aligarh, it was hardly British support for Sikhs or promotion of the Singh Sabha. The taking of Amrit by soldiers by Sikh soldiers was a retention of the ceremony of the Khalsa army under Ranjit Singh. The British saw that this made a more disciplined soldier as they analysed why Sikhs were so superior soldiers to others after the Anglo Sikh wars 1845-49 and they found it was their religion, they saw this as a benefit to themselves but indirectly it helped the Sikhs. I have found some of the Harry Potter style stories that we should be praying to Deamons, Goblins and Witches by some of the New Indian Nihangs and attacking the saintly Sikhs who laid down their lives to free Nankana Sahib and Harimandar Sahib ( The Mahant gave Gen Dyer a Siropa after the Jallianwalla Bagh massacre) from the pro British Mahants and then calling them British supported quite offensive. What was different from todays India is that they did not prevent the promotion of taking of Amrit by Sikhs, they did not start sects/groups to undermine the Sikh religion.

  23. The Singh Sabha was a reaction to the growth of the Arya Samaj in the Punjab and the attacks on Sikhs by Brahmins. If the Singh Sahibians were so pro British why were so many martyered by the British in the Gurdwara reform movement? I dont see any record of Nihangs going on mass to oppose British control on Sikhs shrines, in fact the New Indian Nihangs support the Mahants who were very much part of the British colonial system. Some major confusion in the revisionist historians of the period.
