  1. It never fails to amaze me how obsessed Sikhs are with their 'image' rather than reality. This is probably one of the Nihang practices which goes back pre-1849 and just because some of us have become squeamish and sterilized in other parts of the world, it wont stop them doing this. You could go there and try to stop them, but I recommend you think carefully before offending them - they are not acting when they say they know how to use swords!

  2. Source : -------------- In the second world war, the Sikhs fought in the British army and many Sikhs gave their lives fighting for Britain. Many Sikhs fought in Europe too and the Sikhs were recognized for their outstanding performance in the war. After the war was over, the Sikh regiments were brought back to India by road. As thus, they had to pass through Afghanistan and present day Pakistan, to arrive in India. When the Sikh regiment reached Jamraud, the Sikhs requested the officer in charge to stay at Jamraud as they wanted to visit the Gurudwara that stands there in the sweet memory of the greatest general, Sardar Hari Singh Nalwa. The officers agreed and the Sikhs stayed there for some days. As the military had stationed in Jamraud, the Sikhs took liberty to visit adjoining places. The residents of Jamraud did not know too much about the Sikhs and showed curiosity to know about them. One such person was the wife of a Pathan general called Abdul Qiyoom Khan. She had not seen the Sikhs before and when she saw singhs with parkaash beards and well-built bodies, she asked her husband who they were. Abdul Qiyoom Khan praised the Sikhs and their bravery just as a big-hearted warrior would praise another warrior. He told her about the background of the Sikhs and how they were known for their courage and strength. The pathaans too are known for their bravery and if we read the history we find out that the residents of this area that was known as Gandhaar Desh (mother of Duryodhan, Gandhari was from this area) at the time of Mahabharat. These people ruled India for many years and they were stopped by only one person and that person was Sardar Hari Singh Nalwa. For this reason, the old people of that area had respect and considerable fear for the Sikhs. Anyway, after hearing the stories of bravery of Sikhs, from her husband, she jokingly told her husband that the reason she married him was because of his bravery. The pathaan, when he heard this, got hurt and with hurt ego, immediately shot back at his wife saying that he did realize that these Sikhs were brave but they were not more brave than him. He said that he would prove this to his wife. Saying this, the pathaan immediately arrived at the place where the Sikh regiment was stationed. He went to the officer in-charge and challenged the Sikhs for a one-on-one fight. Abdul Qiyoom Khan was a very accomplished warrior of his area and was the sardaar of the tribal army in his area. He was close to 6'5" tall and had a huge body. When the Sikhs heard his challenge, they started thinking how to respond, since this happened so fast. When he challenged again, a Singh by the name of Kartar Singh accepted his challenge. Kartar Singh was not very tall in height but he had a well-built body. It was decided that the fight would take place the following day at so and so time. The next day, the pathaan arrived a little early along with his supporters. When the time of the match came, Kartar Singh did not arrive on time. The pathaans thought that he had ran away, scared of fighting Abdul Qiyoom Khan. This incident was recorded by the the Englishman who acted as a referee in the competition. His name was M. Crafts. Anyway, a Sikh soldier was dispatched to get Bhai Kartar Singh. When the soldier arrived at this tent, he found him standing in ardaas. Unaware of his surroundings, Kartar Singh urged Guru Gobind Singh Ji for strength and said that he did not have any strength of his own and that he was relying fully on Guru Sahib alone. Doing ardaas along these lines, Bhai Kartar Singh arrived at the place of competition. Most independent observers had thought that this match would not last more than 10 minutes and will result in the death and defeat of Kartar Singh. Both warriors were allowed to use any weapon they wanted and they both used swords to fight. They both were very skilled in fighting. They both did attacks on each other and very diligently saved the attacks of their opponent. The singh was fighting so well, that the pathaan who had thought of crushing him in minutes was taken aback by the fierce resistance posed by Kartar Singh. After half an hour, when no one emerged as a clear winner, the competition was briefly stopped for about 10 minutes. The pathaan came to his side of the ring and drank grapes juice. The singh on the other hand only drank water and closed his eyes to thank Guru Kalgidhar Sache Patshah, who let gave him the strength to face a strong opponent as the pathaan. When they came back after the second round, the pathaan got a little impatient and challenged Kartar Singh to save his attack. When a person loses his cool in a battle or competition, he or she is bound to lose a little bit of focus and concentration. This is what happened to the pathaan. He did a great attack on Kartar Singh who in turn very diligently stopped it and did a counter attack, which resulted in the pathaan getting seriously injured, thus ending the competition in Kartar Singh's favour. After the competition Kartar Singh quietly left the place and while the Sikhs were celebrating he went to his tent to perform an ardaas of thanking Guru Sahib for his victory. The words on his lips were: BHAYEE JEET MERI, KIRPA KAAL TERI|| (O Waheguru, I attained victory because of your grace.)

  3. Iunno man I just put those translations because it sounds like Singh559 wanted to know the Bhaav Arths. Didn't do it to prove one teeka is better than the other. People really have to learn to be more positive and just live together and work with everybody's opinions and backgrounds. Sometime I learn all these people arguing on these forum and I wonder what they do for a living and/or how many friends they have and how many people want to be around them and what their family atmosphere is. No offense to anyone but people really have to stop saying their way is right and that's final. Take everyone's positions I have friends who are really strict in their religions whether its Islam, Sikhi, Hinduism, etc. and friends who are atheist, you can always look at something/someone and take the positive out of that or the negative. As you can see I've taken the negative.

  4. Also the Guru's protected villages and people from animals that would attempt to hurt them. Before someone talks about hunting, they should know the battle rules that Satguru gave to the Singhs. If an enemy is running away from the battle field then let him go and don't chase or kill him. Only attack those that are attacking us. These are the orders of Satguru for the battlefield. An animal that is running away can't be killed by a Singh. Surely a deer or goat that is defenceless and is running away from the aggressor as no intentions to attack. Those that want to hunt go toe to toe with a bear and then after that go do the Panth the seva of hunting down the oppressors that walk freely and get treated as Kings.

Islam have 72 sects, within 72 sects there are 294 sub sect factions always fighting among each other, same thing with christianity and hinduism, buddhism....this is kalyug..no dharam is safer from any divisions..only maharaj or his bhramgyani yodha/tat vetaie mahapursh can bring everyone together..us mere mortals can surely try but always fall short on it...i guess thats part of hakum.!!!!!

  6. SSA All, I would like to ask u all SHOULD I SAY SORRY TO U ALL FOR THE THREAD I STARTED... ?? I started a thread - JUST A QUESTION TO ALL MALES in ANONYMOUS....!! When i started the thread i have written that i need ANSWER IN YES N NO - NO EXPLANATION- but people actually started explaning things.... Is it my fault? People started blaming me about the thread - this happened second time.. we are here to discuss things... When there a threads on Sexual things... y they are all not blocked... ?? If people come here to find solutions then y they are blammed for their own questions I have seen things happening.. I dont have facial hair such but i was left over by my sikh boyfriend after i took amirt... after talking to couple of more sikh guys i came to know the reality that they dont prefer amritdhari kudiya - aaj kal sikha de ghar sher ni gidad paida hunde ne.. (i m talking about max people not all - this i a real fact - experienced fact). When i took... Amrit.. i was happy to become daughter of Guru Gobind Singh g...!! but after knowing some of the facts ... i was suprised... like WHAT IS THIS ?? Somebody mentioned in that thread - Now to the topic starter, instead of coming on this forum and asking Singhs, as if they are superior, if they would accept a singhni with facial hair you should be proud of your facial hair and believe you need no Singh, and instead seek Guru Gobind Singh and Vaheguru. And stop worrying about public opinion and marriage so much. If you want to get married then ask Guru Sahib once in ardas to find you a Perfect Singh, a True Son of Vaheguru. I was just showing the reality to people... i am not worried about myself.. but just want to show to the sikh community... what their sons actually are..... i am strong enough to deal with life.. n dat was taught by my Gurus to me... i am not here to discuss personal matters as such... but this was a general thing i wanted to know.... If i still did mistake....Let me know... I WILL QUIT COMING HERE... i came here just to know sikhi more as per discussion u can make out conclusions... but if people dont like... will quit.... but will keep on questioning to people whom i meet.. 7. I think everyone has their own mahapurash that they admire. I have respect for all the Sants and Mahapurakhs, and why wouldnt I? They have reached levels with the Guru's grace where I cant even imagine to think of. That said, my love for Baba Ishar Singh ji Nanaksar kaleran is more than any other mahapurakhs. Sometimes you just feel connected and special with one mahapurakh. For me, this is due to the experiences I have heard from my elders who did sangat of Baba ji. I think its okay if I decide to hold someone in more respect in our minds over the others. Its an innerpersonal experience. All mahapurash are the same. Their basic teaching is same. Just go wherever your heart takes you, or wherever you feel more bliss. Just dont try to big one over the other publicly.

  8. There is nothing wrong with using teekas (be it faridkot teeka, sato gali wala teka or prof sahib sing teeka among others etc) to help us understand gurbani but the real profound experience of gurbani comes from nirgun paratma via one own's spiritual growth in stages...defining agami gurbani exactly in its pure original total form is like defining Nirgun all prevading Vahiguroo which our own guru sahiban didn't put any defining limit or end to it !!.. Agami Gurbani speaks to every human consciousness at different stage or avastha. Hence rightly so, no sampardaie (faridkot teeka) nor regular teekas among others, claim that their arths of gurbani are sampooran(complete). Claiming to have full interpretation of agami gurbani is like individual claiming that they have found end of nirgun chaitan bhram Vahiguroo..!!..All though bhramgyani interpretation of gurbani is pretty much gives you tat gyan of gurbani but they themselves don't claim- this is it as their own consciousness is experiencing Agami Gurbani in its own unique and diverse way as there are many endless aspects (eg-sargun nirgun) of Vahiguroo.!! It's usually people who idiolizes one teek over another misses the big picture or plot and confine themselves to their mahapursh or bhramgyani interpretation/their favourite teeka of gurbani which is also somewhat an road block in one's spiritual growth, the real message of bhramgyani to an student is to focus on message or work towards your own spirituality to actually experience gurbani yourself. No bhramgyani or sampardaaie teekakar will claim, follow my teeka. They have made attempts to present agami gurbani in most profound manner but at the end, all their work- teeka, interpretation etc along with themselves looses themselves in Agami Gurbani..!! However with that being said, here is Gurmat traditional approach when it comes to translating or interpertating gurbani: Gurmat traditional approach: This approach lays three basic framework in interpretating gurbani to under gurbani depth/ensure translating accuracy- a) uthanka-historical contex of shabad- sankalap(thought) behind guru sahib reciting an respective shabad b) bhav arth- provided outer layer of shabad where some level of vikayaran is used c) antriv arth- inner layer of shabad which could be interpretating both from sargun and nirgun aspect of Vahiguroo. Hence you will find multiple meanings of same shabad. This is no way to be seen as contradictory quite the opposite rather because gurbani connects to our human consciousness which all have different perceptions and sitting on different stages. At the end, one must come to terms and all bhramgyanis/samparda's teekakars naturally have a understanding, that its not about defining gurbani so much so in teeka or steek form but rather loosing your self in agami Gurbani and becoming part of ~~ IK ONGKAR ~~..!!!!!!!!!

  12. This is the full, basic Nitnem in Gurmukhi with an English translation. All the Banis are in line with the prescribed minimum by DDT. The Gutka Sahib includes the 7 daily banis, ardass, rakhya lei shabads, and a fair size selection of additional shabads. It's formatted for the Sony ebook reader, but this should work just fine on Kindle or any other ebook reader as well. Admins, please make this a sticky. Sampooran Nitnem Gutka.pdf

  14. Ok, this has been really annoying me for a while now. It has been going on for quite while and yet as far as i am aware no one has batted an eyelid. Not just non Amritdharis are guilty of this but so are countless of Amritdharis and Gursikhs. So far this year I have received 6 wedding and Akhand Paath cards and in each and every one of them there is a tuk from bani! Two of these cards I have received from Amritdhari families. I think putting bani in these cards is extremely disrespectful! The cards if posted get thrown all over the place and are held by someone who may have just had a bacon sandwich or cigarette a few mins ago. If they are hand delivered then most are left all over the place. And once the wedding/ Akhand Paath passes how many get thrown straight into the bin? We wouldn't treat an ang from Guru Granth Sahib Ji or from the gutka in this manner so why is it acceptable for a card that contains a line of bani. In fact what is the need to contain bani in the card in the first place? Stick what ever else you want on there but LEAVE THE BANI OUT!!!!

  15. One of the Generals responsible for the massacre of thousands of men , women and children during the 1984 has been shunned by Gurdwaras evenafter his death. This man carried out Bluestar and Woodrose with enthusiasm when other sensible Generals refused, Its good that the SGPC and Sukbir Badal have said Bluestar was an outrage against Sikhs and thats why the Bhog was refused. It sends a strong message that the Genocide paticipants are immensely disliked by Sikhs for the Gurdwara to take this action http://www.hindustantimes.com/Punjab/Chandigarh/P-kula-gurdwara-refuses-to-hold-prayers-for-1965-war-hero/SP-Article1-995938.aspx A gurdwara in Sector 7 of Panchkula refused to hold prayers to mark the death anniversary of 1965 war hero Lt Gen RS Dyal on December 30, citing his participation in Operation Bluestar, the 1984 army action by which Sikh militants seeking a separate country (Khalistan) were flushed out of theGolden Temple in Amritsar. The refusal has shocked the defence community of the region. A devout Sikh who was awarded the Maha Vir Chakra, the country's second highest war gallantry award, for the capture of the formidable Haji Pir Pass in J&K in the 1965 war with Pakistan, Lt Gen Dyal was chief of staff, Western Command, at the time of Bluestar. He retired as army commander of the Southern Command, then served as lieutenant governor of Pondicherry (Puducherry) and the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, and passed away on January 29 last year. "When I went to the gurdwara to ask them to conduct the rituals, they (the management) said he (Lt Gen Dyal) should have resigned over Bluestar. I was shocked. I said he had just followed orders," said the late officer's wife Barinder Kaur Dyal. "He was the hero of Haji Pir Pass. They don't remember his contribution in the 1965 war, but rake up Bluestar. This should end now." The religious service was then organised at the family residence with the help of the army's priest, and the langar (community kitchen) was organised at the Khetrapal Officers' Institute (KOI) in Chandimandir. Reasoned Harbans Singh, secretary of the Sector-7 gurudwara management, "When we had conducted the bhog (prayer) on Lt Gen Dyal's death, the Sikh sangat (community) raised a lot of questions. So this time we decided to go with the sangat." "Even during the bhog, the gurdwara management was hesitant," said Col Iqbal Singh (retd), a former aide of Lt Gen Dyal, "Arrangements were lacking, and they appeared to be handing us a favour." When HT contacted Avtar Singh Makkar, president of the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbhandak Committee (SGPC), he praised the gurdwara management. "Lt Gen Dyal was involved in the attack on the Akal Takht (the Sikh temporal seat in the Golden Temple complex). Artillery and tanks were used. He never apologised." Asked whether he recognised Lt Gen Dyal's role in the 1965 war, Makkar said, "What he did in 1984 remains unacceptable." Lt Gen Raj Kadyan (retd), chairman of the Indian Ex-Servicemen Movement (IESM) and former vice-chief of army staff, reacted, "It is a sad incident. An incident like Operation Bluestar should not be used against the army, which is a secular institution. Lt Gen Dyal was a great soldier who deserves respect. We are all proud of him as he did what was required." Terming the incident unfortunate, Lt Col SS Sohi (retd), president of the Ex-Servicemen Grievance Cell, said, "The army fights for the nation, not for a religion or caste. Soldiers like Lt Gen Dyal are rare." Lt Gen Dyal is considered one of the main officers during Bluestar along with Lt Gen K Sunderji, who was the army commander (Lt Gen Dyal's immediate superior) in the Western Command, and Lt Gen Kuldip Singh Brar, who led the troops inside the Golden Temple. General AS Vaidya, the then army chief, was assassinated in Pune in August 1986, while Lt Gen Sunderji died of natural causes in 1999. Lt Gen Brar was injured in an attack by pro-Khalistan Sikh radicals in London last year. Maj Gen KS Bajwa (retd), author of five books on wars, said, "Lt Gen Dyal does not deserve such treatment. Operation Bluestar was a Gen Sunderji's show. Lt Gen Dyal just executed what was ordered

  17. Yes Gurpreet, we deleted that thread because some members were being rude & insensitive to others. The reason we closed that thread was to clear/edit previous replies where some members were mentioning names and again that was being very insensitive. We cleared all replies and decided to give it another chance but then again at the end we got over dozen replies of same crap. We should have never reopened that thread but again we tried to keep our forums open for all sort of viewpoints but we do have to put some limits on extremely negative quality of topics, replies etc.

He should use this platform to show that public display of beard and turban = SIKH ( 99.9% of the time) not a Taliban or muslim. And also show Sikhs in a more positive upbeat attitude. I have to commend this guy, because he went in with full flowing beard, he didnt even tie or gel it. As for singing kaami or mayavi songs, that is a bit negative ; but that should be left for him to decide, its between him and Guru ji.

  20. I respect ur opinion. I will surrender my argument with these 2 points. 1. Every amritdhari sikh wears SIRI SAHIB(forgive me if there is any spelling mistake or use of wrong word) Siri sahib is If I am allowed to say symbolises KIRPAAN. The point is actually how many amritdhari people actually know the actual way it is used as a warrior. There is proper training needed to use a SHASTAR. How many Gurudawara's have actually facility to train them. The answer we know. 2.Most important and it is for every sikh. Every sikh vows to their GURU Guru Granth Sahib but how many sikhs have actually read the whole bani and understand it and moreover follow it. How many Gurudawara's have actually facility to teach them. The answer we know. My Apologies for any BEADBI.

  21. Settlement Reached In Sikh Beard-Limousine Case January 21, 2013 by Admin Source: thelinkpaper.ca January 19th, 2013: TORONTO – A human rights case that was to go before the Human Rights Tribunal of Ontario (HRTO), involving the right of a Sikh limousine driver to maintain a beard, has settled. The case involving Gurmukh Singh and the Aaroport Limousine Service began in July 2011 when Singh was found in violation of Aaroport’s dress code due to his untied beard. Singh was taken off the company’s dispatch system unless he agreed to either trim or tie his beard. Aaroport’s dress code requires drivers to be “neat and tidy in appearance and maintain proper personal hygiene.” Singh maintains uncut hair as a part of his Sikh faith. Many observant Sikhs do not tie their beards as a tenet of their faith. An application to the HRTO was filed on Singh’s behalf by his union, the CAW Local 252. The World Sikh Organization of Canada applied for and was granted intervener status in the case. As per an order issued by the HRTO, the case which was to be heard on January 14, 2013 has now been settled. Although the terms of the settlement are subject to a confidentiality agreement, the company has confirmed independently that Sikh drivers are no longer prohibited from maintaining untied beards while being employed by Aaroport. WSO’s legal counsel Balpreet Singh said, “Aaroport should be commended for taking this step . A restriction on a Sikh maintaining an untied beard, based on a company’s esthetic preferences, cannot stand up to legal scrutiny. The law is clear that where an individual has a sincerely held religious practice or belief, it must be accommodated to the point of undue hardship. We are pleased that Aaroport has recognized its human rights obligations and will allow their Sikh drivers to fulfill their employment obligations while respecting their religious beliefs.” WSO Ontario Vice President Ranjit Singh Dulay said, “we are very pleased that the parties have reached a settlement and that Aaroport Limousine will now permit Sikh drivers to freely practice their religious beliefs, and maintain untied beards. Individuals such as Gurmukh Singh play a very important role in our society. By raising such issues, they ensure that not just Sikhs but all Canadians have the right to freely practice their faith.”

  22. Veer ji , mahapursh would be right under Sant Baba Isher Singh ji along with Sant Teja Singh ji. Sant Sher Singh ji would also be there. When Sant Baba Isher Singh ji was at Rara Sahib, only 2 Singh's got to go down to the bottom story of the Bhora sahib. Everyday from 8pm to 10pm Sant Bhagwan Singh ji and Sant Sher Singh ji would go down there with Sant Baba Isher Singh ji, and were they were told that world does not exist down here there only god. Do not talk about any worldly matters down here only about Waherguru. At 10pm when mahapursh came out of the bhora sahib, Sant Balwant Singh ji (SriMann ji) would be ready with langar. There are countless Mahapursh that were guided by Sant Baba Isher Singh ji, however Sant Teja Singh ji is currently at the main Rara Sahib Gurdwara so that is likely why he is the only one listed on the tree. 25. When you watch this video, do you think this is what Sikhs should be known for? These people are ruining the Sikh image and I know this has been disputed many times and I don't know if the Sikh community will EVER be on the same page. But in my opinion this is just stupid. These people are just looking for an excuse to eat meat...! Even if I wasn't a Sikh, I would never EVER want to see this happening. Taking the life of an innocent animal who has done nothing to harm you just so you can eat some meat? I know this is not accepted in Sikhism. Sikhism is a different religion, and the video below shows the exact opposite. I'm so happy I didn't see this when I went to Sri Hazur Sahib. Nihaangs are not Singhs, this practice is horrible and not part of our values! By the way, this video is the first result on YouTube when you search " sri hazur sahib" . Big Impact. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- A fellow Gursikh responded to this video, worth watching : Response 1: RESPONSE 2:

  26. Brother this is where it gets so unfortunate for us. I could not care less if non-Sikhs see Nihangs doing bhang or jhatka or whatever. The firanghi are a fickle bunch who's norms and expectations change like their fashions. I care more for what the Nihangs are doing to claim back their glories and become what they before the British neutered them. If we are to be so squeamish about a goat what of the battlefield? Not every Mughal/Afghan/Maratha/British we fought was an evildoer of unimaginable proportions. But they were enemies and had to be killed. How did Sikhs know how sharp their weapons were if they never used them? As for using Gurbani, we are not Abrahamics. They fire off lines like they are in a rap battle. Gurbani needs to be quoted at length to understand it. Read Panth Prakash. In the old days, Sikhs would read at least an entire Ang for contemplation before doing something. Not one or two lines. If you wish to take on the Nihangs, if it feels right to you, then do it. But I dont see why you would.

  29. The Damdami Taksal chief, Harnam Singh Dhumma, accompanied by former Akal Takht chief Jathedar Jasbir Singh Rode, today called upon the Sikh voters in the Capital to save the ‘Panth’ (community) and vote for the Parkash Singh Badal- Shiromani Akali Dal in the Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee (DSGMC) poll on January 27. Dhumma and Rode, who was Akal Takht chief during Operation Black Thunder-II in 1988, both shared the dais with Punjab Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal here this evening. Dhumma, who leads the Sant Samaj, said: “The SAD symbolises the Panth and you must ensure its victory in the elections. Paramjit Singh Sarna opposes the Akal Takht edicts. Hence, he does not deserve to win.” Dhumma’s speech to the 800-strong crowd at the Delhi residence of SAD MP Harsimrat Kaur Badal was received with cries of ‘Bole So Nihal. Rode, a nephew of Jarnail Singh Bhindranwala, was even more forceful in his speech. “You must ensure that the reins of the DSGMC are handed back to the Panth. And we will ensure your welfare,” he said. Later Sukhbir Badal, when asked to clarify if this meant that his party was backed by the Panth in its fight against Sarna, he said: “This if a fight of the community against these people (the Sarna brothers)”. Sukhbir, who landed in Delhi this evening, told his supporters: “Sarna is being used to weaken the community. But nobody, from Sonia (Gandhi) to Sajjan Kumar to (Jagdish) Tytler, can stop the victory of the Panth”. Sukhbir’s team that consists of leaders like Ludhiana legislator Sharanjit Singh Dhillon and old warhorses Balwant Singh Ramoowalia and Tarlochan Singh, are working behind the scenes, meeting people one on one. They have been able to build so much pressure that Sarna’s main candidate against Manjit Singh GK, Badal’s presidential nominee, has withdrawn from the contest. He was seen at today’s congregation, sharing the stage with Dhumma and Rode.

  30. Facts : Nobody from the BBC has seen Amarjit Kaur's passport.......She wasn't even arrested and certainly didn't bring her passport along to the rendevouz. So who can say for sure she is an 'Indian national' ? Amarjit Kaur stated herself that the way her business works is that she herself calls girls over on 6 month visas. Now any fool knows that the 6 month visas are visitor visas sponsored by extended family members. They are not 'work' visas and they are not 'student' visas. Thus, it is common sense that she has been regularly calling over innocent female members of her own extended family to indulge in this disgusting trade. Any fool also knows how extremely difficult it is to get visitor visas for females from Punjab. At least 100% harder than getting visitor visas for male relatives. You don't get them unless you are extremely well established. If a freshie has regularly managed it for others than its a first. A very rvery rare thing. Now.....her dialect. She's clearly not a doaba speaker. Obviously from either majha or malwa, so I would guess one of the established community from the 1980's onwards. Either way, established. What I find most disturbing about the attitudes here is the way that a Sikh girl falling in love with a muslim male is seen as a worse thing than selling your body for sex, as long as the pimp herself is also a Sikh and its all consensual. That kind of thought is truly disturbing. Every Sikh girl on earth, bar my wife, is my sister. I honour them all and it is no secret that I regularly use my legal knowledge to arrange visas for relatives back home to make genuine visits to the UK for genuine reasons. These eyes of mine would never so much as look at a Sikh sister with bad intentions, which is why I am so disgusted with what is going on.

  31. And the thing is, its not even something we the established UK Sikh community can blame the new arrivals for. This dirty pimp is one of us....Part of the established old Sikh community of the UK. On the outside, just your typical middle aged auntie. Enough of this vilification of the new immigrants then. The most despicable, disgusting, immoral human being has been shown to be one of us.....the established community. No wonder its so hard for many of us to get visitor visas for our female relatives in Punjab.....even or things like weddings. We never imagined it but the Border Agency and visa officials obviously knew already how many are working as prostitutes here. Never did I think that our aunties sponsor visa forms for girls back home simply to sell those girls for sex. Shameless !! I know in my last message I said Amarjit Kaur from east London needs to be publicly shamed but I've changed my mind now. In the programme she inadvertently let it slip that she sponsors visitor visas for girls back home and so if we expose her it will be the girls from back home who have come over on those visas who will suffer terribly. Their lives will be ruined. From the programme, it looked as though Amarjit Kaur owned that rather large shop in east London where the first meeting took place, or at least worked there. At the very least, her and her family need to be driven out. Also......I'm guessing that the same thing is going on at an even larger scale here in west London and the Midlands. Therefore, each of us need to ask around and expose the local established old time middle aged Mrs Kaur's amongst us who are destroying our young sisters from Punjab. Enough is enough. We've had thread after thread about Muslims taking our sisters as girlfriends. Its time to face the greater evil closer to home. Its time to concentrate on our own, indulging in white slavery of our own.

  33. I never said I dont care about the OP - I said I dont care whether anyone takes the advice or not. I cant as I will never know what they want to believe. That's what I meant. As for bigotry, I made very clear and reasonable points on the Non Punjabi Sikh thread. The fact that others would rather slur and throw insults when faced with opposing points that dont fit their world view is not my fault. There is nothing wrong with vegetarianism, but veganism when not well researched is as bad as some other diets. Many vegans have to go to their doctors in the learning curve that is changing diets. Dont expect to switch and not come across any issues, some people need to have frank discussions with their doctor before embarking on changes in diet depending on their age and medical history. Not from people on a forum. As for 'current legal legislation' bare in mind that if the teachers ever report your kids to the social, one of the first things they will look at is diet. There may be no link, but do you really want to leave it to the whims, interpretations and personality of the Judge and local authority's lawyer? I didnt know this issue has made the press, so I'll look into it. But if you are a parent, what may be good for you doesnt translate to your children in every situation.

  34. Not specific to the this website but just a general humble beanti to the Sangat. Please check and only download books, stream films for free if they are actually free to buy, otherwise spend a little amount to get the real thing. I think a often general misconception is giving out things for free is seva, copy Vismaad DVDs here, give out free ebooks there. Some blessed people spend countless time, effort and money to produce Sikhi items and income from sales helps them recoup the money they initially put in. Some people who start such ventures do not even recoup the amount of money they originally put into the project let alone anything for their time, effort or future projects. We should help support such ventures so that more great things can come, instead of killing the projects through free downloads/ piracy.

  41. Notice how the media have no issue with using 'Sikh' to describe the men rather than 'Asian'? Funny eh? Notice how they latch on to the supposed inconsistencies in the 'rumours' to show that Sikhs are wrong? Condescending, bitter and rude. What else can we expect from these people?

  42. Gurfateh, My local Gurdwara are seeking to start up classes for Children’s self defence/martial arts and are looking for instructors who will act as role models first i.e. Gursikhs with the martial arts aspect following on. We believe having an amritdhari instructor will give the kids a role model to look up to and aspire to. The intention being that they will learn sikhi principles along with the self confidence not only to look after themselves and others but also the confidence in the sikhi saroop. We are looking for recommendations of such gursikhs in and around the Birmingham area, so Wolverhampton, Walsall etc are all within easy commute. I would appreciate your help and assistance. Bhul chuk marf.

  44. I came across a website (www.dtfbooks.com) and noticed they are selling Guru Granth Sahib Maharaj for 80 pounds. How can you put a value on Guru Granth Sahib. Guru Granth is priceless. Also if you were to buy Guru Granth Sahib online, would that mean they would send it through the post, because if that was the case. I would find it highly dis-respectful. WJKK WJKF

  45. The Lost Palace A majestic palace unlike any other once glimmered in the waters of the sacred pool of nectar at Amritsar. Learn about what was once one of the largest and most magnificent structures of its kind at the Darbar Sahib complex. Follow the history of the lost palace and the space it occupied from its origins in the Sikh Empire, to British Rule and eventually modern times. 1854 painting of the lost palace superimposed on a modern photograph showing the exact location and size of the palace. This is the scene that one would see standing on the south parkarma today if the palace still existed. [/center] The Bungas of Darbar Sahib As a spiritual and inspirational hub of Sikhism The Darbar Sahib complex in the city of Amritsar has always been a very special place for Sikhs. Surrounding the sacred pool of nectar at Darbar Sahib the leading members of the Sikh misls (confederacies) first established their residences and palaces (bungas) at Amritsar in the late 18th century. After a dark period, Darbar Sahib was reconstruction in 1764 after repeated destruction by Ahmad Shah Durrani and Sikhs began to enjoy a period of relative peace in Punjab where they were no longer fighting for survival as a people. With the rise of Maharaja Ranjit Singhs empire and its prosperity, at their height there were over 84 bungas around the sacred pool. 25] In the centre of the city of Umritsir is a gigantic reservoir of water, from the midst of which rises a magnificent temple, where the Grunth ( the holy book of the Sikhs ) is read day and night. Around this sheet of water are the houses of the maharajah, the ministers, sirdars, and other wealthy inhabitants. Thirty-five Years in the East L.M. Honigberger, London, 1852 Some of these palaces (bungas) were used as centers of religious teaching and education while most served as the residences of some of the powerful aind influential families of Punjab. Being on the sacred pool these palaces offered an intimate view and connection with Darbar Sahib. 25] Amritsar, 1859. In the centre of the tank rose a gorgeous temple of marble, the roof and minarets being encased in gilded metal; marble pavements, fresco paintings, added to the splendour of the scene, and round the outer circle sprung up a succession of stately buildings for the accommodation of the sovereign and his court. The establishment of no noble was complete, who had not his bhunga at Amritsar. Linguistic and Oriental Essays Robert Needham Cust, London, 1880 The Tulao, or pool, struck me with surprise. It is about 150 paces square, and has a large body of water, which to all appearance is supplied by a natural artesian well. There are no sign of the spring to be seen. It is surrounded by a pavement about 20 to 25 paces in breadth. Round this square are some of the most considerable houses of the city, and some buildings belonging to the temple, the whole being inclosed by gates: although one can look very conveniently from the windows of the houses into this inclosed space, and some of the doors even open into it. Travels in Kashmir and the Panjab Baron Charles Hugel, translated from German with notes by Major T.B. Jervis, 1845 Over time eventually almost all of the bungas have disappeared, being replaced by new structures; today the only two remaining bungas are the Akal Takht (Akal Bunga) and the twin towers of the Ramgharia Bunga. Although they are long gone, the palaces (bungas) of Amritsar live on in memory and are still remembered every day in the common Sikh prayer of Ardas: 25] Chukiaan’, Jhandae, Bun:gae jugo j-ugg atall, dharam kaa jaaekaar. Bolo jee Vaaheguroo. May the bungas, the banners, the cantonments abide from age to age. May the cause of truth and justice prevail everywhere at all times, utter, Wondrous God!.

  46. Yup its a pretty disgusting thing to have done. But thats what British Christians of the past did to Sikhs and Punjab. They did that to many other parts of the world too especially africa destroying native communities, cultures and religions and enslaving the people to be subservient to the white European christian imperialist armed invaders.

  47. Shabash! Kaljug Singh jeeo I was also thinking of writing something on this website. The first thing that strikes you when you visit the site is the picture of Ram Chander ji and Sita ji. I respect avtars, prophets of other dharams however why would a sikh have an avtar of another religion as the opening page if their site? The only reason can be is that they actually think that these avtars are equals or similar to our Guru Sahiban. They won't succeed in their propoganda because it is false and in the end falshood will perish. I feel sorry for those genuine Sikhs who just go to train with Niddar Singh and then adopt his false ideology. We need to do more such as writing articles like bhai Kaljug Singh ji to make sure our veer and bhains do fall for the manmat being propgated by this Niddar Singh and his group. Also I must stress that by writing informative articles like bhai Kaljug Singh ji is a great option in countering this 'sanatan sikhi' concept. Please dont revert to calling these people RSS, Hindu Fanatics and whatnot. They can turn around to their students and use this to their advantage calling us Sikh fanatics, militants etc. Lets use Gurmat to to eradicate this Manmat. Lets use Gurbani to prove the greatness and uniqueness of our dharam. Sabb te vaddaa Satgur Nanak jin kal rakhi meri Guru Nanak is highest of all, who kept my honour Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh
