Sardar Ganga Singh Dhillon was ahead of his time. He pioneered the approach of Sikhs being able to deal with the Pakistan government on a one on one basis without the Indian govt being a middle man. This has scared the establishment in India whether it is the SGPC which lost the right to be considered the management authority of the Gurdwaras in Pakistan after the creation of the PGPC or the Indian govt which lost the claim to be the representative of the Sikhs outside of India. It is sad that this approach did not continue and Sikhs outside of India were unable to create a unified leadership which could have dealt with other governments on an independent basis.

Setting up a new Gurdwara is not a solution especially as there are already eight Gurdwaras within a radius of 2 miles! The youth committee needs to grassroots work at least for 2-3 years with the youngsters in order to create a base and then take over the management of the Gurdwara.

shameful, TPV should set up a new gurdwara, as it will be very difficult to change the committees - they have too much invested in keeping their positions. in the Sikh Channel debate the main parties focus was arguments over money and buildings, and only talked about Sikhi when the TPV person asked what their plans were to promote Sikhi. That's what happens when you start one form of manmat, it will lead to more manmat. First Gurdwaras all over the western world started off by installing benches/chairs near the back wall saying it is for handicapped people or for elderly people with joint problems. I agree that they should be allowed to use those chairs or benches since they are genuinly unable to sit on the ground. But unfortunately most of the people who use those benches and chairs are not even handicapped nor have joint pain. They can sit on the ground yet they misuse those benches/chairs by sitting on them in the hazuri of Guru Sahib. Look at this picture Clearly you can see the bibis who are doing Chuglis in the back are not even elderly. They are middle aged and even young yet why are they sitting on chairs. Only one is a real handicap who is sitting on the wheel chair. This is what you can see all over the western world where ever these benches and chairs have been installed. Normal people with no physical problems are using them Now seeing the video above posted by OP we can clearly see how this has led to these small semi chairs in the hazuri of Guru Sahib.
