  2. This is how one paedophile in the US was stopped in going about his disgusting perverted business. Note the father was not charged as he stopped a violent crime, something that should have happened when our Sikh brothers in Leicester intervened to stop further sexual molestation of a victim. The Leicester groomers were convicted and sentenced to prison. Free the Sikh Brothers with Royal Pardons and a hefty compensation package!!! http://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/americas/paedophile-beaten-unconscious-by-childs-father-handed-25-year-prison-sentence-10154104.html Paedophile beaten unconscious by child's father handed 25 year prison sentence Raymond Frolander, who was 18 at the time, was found by officers lying in a pool of his own blood Roisin O'Connor Friday, 3 April 2015 A man who was beaten by the father of a child he was caught sexually abusing has been sentenced to 25 years in prison. Raymond Frolander, from Daytona Beach, Florida, was beaten until he was unconscious and left with clear facial injuries after he was found abusing the 11-year-old boy last year. The father called police after administering his own punishment. Frolander, who was 18 at the time, was found by officers lying in a pool of his own blood. According to a 911 recording, the unnamed father told the operator: "I just walked in and found a grown man molesting (my child) and I got him in a bloody puddle for you right now. "Send an ambulance. He is going to need one." The father ended the call by saying: “I did whatever I got a right to do, except I didn’t kill him.” Frolander was charged with sexual battery on a victim under 12. Speaking to investigators after the attack, the child said that he had been playing games with friends at the property; however, once those friends had left, Frolander began to sexually assault him. The child also said that this had not been an isolated incident, and that Frolander had been abusing him since the age of eight. According to Daytona Beach police Chief Mike Chitwood, Frolander was "almost like a family member" to his alleged victim and he had groomed his target for a period of time, having sex with the victim on multiple occasions. The father was not charged with any crime. Chitwood said the man was just "acting like a dad", and he didn’t see anything to charge him with. Asked whether he had any issues with the father’s actions, Chitwood said: "Not as a police chief and not as a father." Frolander took a deal to prevent a mandatory life sentence. However he will be registered as a sex offender for the rest of his life and will have to wear a GPS monitor upon his release, NBC News affiliate Wesh reported. After the sentence, the father told reporters at the station: "He's going to learn in the next 25 years why I let him live."

  3. http://www.jakara.org/openletter Just saw this open letter from Jakara Movement, where it talks about Sexual Abuse Awareness Month. I am a bit perplexed about this organisation particularly in the context of their make up, it seems to be some kind of Sikh feminist group based in the U.S. In their open letter, they state that British Sikhs are the forefront of speaking out against grooming by "some" Muslim men. Being based in the U.S., I do not think that they are in a position to make assumptions about the UK, clearly now that the evidence is coming out how widespread the grooming incidents are in the UK and how large these grooming networks are and the complicit cover up by the social services and the police, so to downplay it as "some" muslim men is an insult to the victims. As I read further down and they mention how there is a bigger problem of assault and sexual abuse in our community. Now I do not know what this particulars about this within our community, we are no angels but I do not think it would be worse than other communities. If there is a big problem, then yes it needs to be tackled. However, I am always concerned with this particular issue with Sikh females in that everything is blamed on "patriarchy". In Gupt Folder, there was a conversation about the mother in law- daughter in law problems which is a universal problem BETWEEN WOMEN and is about the POWER STRUGGLE BETWEEN WOMEN yet some how it is somehow the fault the patriarchy. Why is this word "patriarchy" banded as an evil word. The word patriarchy means "rule of the father".On the other post about the Birmingham Sikh getting beaten by 5 or 6 muslim males, he got into the altercation because his cousin sister was being harassed, he tried to protect her. Is that Patriarchy, has he been oppressing his sister because of his need to protect his sister. Some of you maybe fathers and brothers, but I for one am fed up with this Sikh male bashing.

  4. I'm a sikh girl from the UK and my family are 'Rajputs'. Before I start this topic I just wanted to say that i don't want anyone posting rude and unhelpful responses, I don't want any hate speeches against other castes or religions and neither do I want irrelevant 'facts' of any sort. I have read so many posts on here shared by Sikhs saying Sikhs don't believe in caste and its only a 'hindu thing'. This is untrue. Yes sikhism is against the caste system but MAJORITY of the Sikh people do believe in the caste system, it has not died, not even in the younger generation. It still lives. And tbh, my Gujarati friends who are all hindu hardly know anything about this caste system, so I guess it's a bigger problem in Hindu Punjabi and sikh families. I am 'Rajput'. We are apparently considered to be a good 'high' caste. I am in my late 20s and I have been close to a boy for many years now, ever since university. Everything about us is great, we have a lot in common and our upbringing is quite similar. He is a chemical engineer and I am a teacher. My parents would be so proud that I have gone out there and found a decent boy. However this isn't the case, he is a Khumbar (also known as prajapati) - they used to be potters many hundreds of years ago. They are considered to be 'lower caste'. I REALLY want to marry this man. I am desperate for some help and advice. I never use forums or online help but my desperation has led me to this way of seeking for help.

  5. UKIP, at least Farage has been honest unlike the mainstream parties of Lib\Lab\Con. How much money has Britain given to corrupt countries over the years like Pakistan who have a terrible record of human rights abuses to it's minorities, how have these recipient countries used the aid funds? There are 50 odd Islamic countries oil rich who can take in asylum seekers such as UAE, Qatar, Kuwait not to mention Saudia Arabia. Africa has some of the richest resources in the world in terms of water, weather, land, oil, vast reserves of minerals that the world wants, where has the wealth gone squandered with one despot dictator after another! Below is just some of the reasons why I longer support any of the main stream parties. http://labour25.com http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2939129/Two-local-councillors-corrupt-police-officer-accused-having-sex-victims-Rotherham-abuse-scandal.html http://news.sky.com/story/1440761/thatcher-turned-blind-eye-to-paedophile-mps Don't forget the Tories and Liberal conspired recently not to give protection to whistleblowers in regards to paedophilia investigations. http://www.exaronews.com/articles/5529/ministers-block-move-to-lift-official-secrets-act-for-csa-scandal

  7. Wat about that kutthha keith vaz, wat did he do for the community in regards 2 the mughal darbar incident? It happened in his own city, yet did nutin 2 help sikhs. Yet this clown is the 1st person at vaisakhi meetings at downing st, kissin sikh/panjabi arses. Also the leic' police blatantly protected those paedo paks, at the expense of the sikhs/the girl. Which i dont understand frm a vote bank p.o.v, as leic in terms of its minorities, is a gujarati (hindu/muslim) city, with a large sikh community, but hardly any paks there, yet they were protected.

  8. @coolwater - Going on from your post above, Sikh men have to set an example. We have to be whiter than white, no pun intended. Obviously don't run yourself ragged, but we must speak, behave, and interact with integrity, assurance, and wisdom in every walk of life. We can't dictate to others and throw our weight around if we ourselves are incapable of introspection and functioning on a level that portays the faith we follow in the best possible light. Unfortunately, and this is controversial, but our culture, and dare I say the way our religion has been interpreted and disseminated to the masses in this relatively modern age, shuns original thought and critical thinking. We are no better than sheep. And no man worth is salt should ever be a sheep. But anyway, hehe. When white English and American men still in their youth (i.e. not old men, lol) begin to criticise and look down upon other males for frequenting nightclubs, casual fornication with many partners, the consumption of intoxicants, etc, then you know change is afoot. Then you look at our lot who are arguing the opposite, lmao! People are beginning to open their eyes; people who I assumed never would, and I tell you it's pretty sweet.

  9. I think the laughable jakara movement in the US is dangerously anti-sikh, its many contributors are feminist militant ideologically aligned and they not have any or much pro-sikh credentials. Our Sikhs should challenge people behind jakara and Sikh women organisational groups because i remember they posted a video few years back where so called Sikh women in short mini skirts were asking if men can go clubs why cant we? Like hello your a Sikh woman and as a person of faith you shouldnt be concerned about going club or not as a Sikh woman you uphold the values of what a Sikh woman does ie be modest and dress modestly you dont see muslim women on muslim videos promoting why cant they go clubs if muslim guys can what the hell is it with some moronic women without our community that been brain washed with this very dangerous version of feminist sikhism? where did this come about? "oh i love my anti-sikh boyfriend because god says we are all one and it doesnt matter what your partner follows" come on our women in our faith really that messed up these days. If so then movements like jakara are to blame for brainwashing girls in the wrong direction and not brainwashing them in to increasing the number of Sikhs in the world. Feminist twisted version of Sikhs blames all the ill's on men and does not promote the virtues of women in fact it promotes hatred of men. Personally I would not allow any platform and discussion of domestic abuse of women unless they is domestic abuse of men and domestic abuse against kids which mothers usually are guilty of. I have seen in many households the woman will instigate verbal or emotional abuse on males within her family which can lead to retaliatory verbal or physical abuse. Or sometimes physical abuse of the husband because the woman suspected he was cheating on her financial troubles or in-laws issues. We need to metaphorically speaking slap down any feminist who doesnt want to promote sikhism and doesnt want to promote equal treatment and only concentrate on just "womens rights". Men have rights too and they need to be respected more so because without men there would be no Sikhism. We forget that women psychosocially want a man to take the lead and be in charge and "be a man" they want their cake and eat it. They are emotionally unstable creatures not their fault its just how nature / God made them. So to give women extraordinary power and rights without correcting them where they go wrong and putting them in their place will eventually lead the community into oblivion. In this world Nature and Waheguru respects the strong you just have to observe how the world and nature how the strong survive and the weak get trampled on. If Sikhs allow feminists to breed within the faith and constantly self hate ourselves instead of the aggressors who attack our people and we as a community are not strongly spiritually, physically, emotionally and intellectually, and fiercely proud to be Sikh then Sikhs will be in history books.

  10. I am under no illusions the Police, Labour politicians particulary of Leicester, CPS and even some of our sell out Sikhs did a great disservice to the Sikh victim and especially our Sikh brothers who actually stopped further serious sexual offences taking place! This is where Sikh Federation should have stepped in and slammed the authorities and got our brothers out of jail with a Royal Pardon and millions in compensation! Look who was in charge of the DPP when grooming was taking place on an industrial scale and have a guess which political party has taken him in to their fold, no shame or honour with tainted public officials http://www.thetimes.co.uk/tto/news/uk/crime/article3577555.ece

  12. I totally agree with above posts of veers..According to my understanding, sikhi neither supports raw patriarchy model nor raw western feminism model. Sikhi is neutral and above both, as gurmat functions/ operates flows from unconditioned knowledge-awareness/gyan which exist in both male and female but beyond both perception of body/sexes differences, soul is universal is above from both sexes. Coming back to post Guru's history though, in all fairness, women in our community went through a lot. Sikh women went from centers (maniya system) established* for them by our Guru's in guru's time to house wives. *There were manji system (centers establishment where gursikhs were chosen to do parchar) was started by Guru Amar das ji, they were 22 manjiya initially strategically placed everywhere in india to do parchar. Here is the list of manjiya http://www.sikhiwiki...hp/Manji_System and there were manjiya given to sikh woman as well to do parchar to other woman and give them empowerment. Here is thread dedicated to Sikh woman Parcharikhs/Sants http://www.sikhsangat.com/index.php?/topic/70272-thread-dedicated-to-sikh-woman-parcharikhssants/

  13. Also the Leicester moghul darbar restaurant attack that resulted from police failure to act on the organised exploitation of a young Sikh girl. Basically police were made aware of the abuse and handed a dossier of names, car registrations, properties etc of the abusers but they did nothing for 6 months and allowed the abuse to continue. Eventually the community took vigilante action. Even then Leicestershire police tried to cover up the abuse claiming it was just rumours. After the restaurant attack some of the the groomers were jailed for lesser charges only receiving 2 years each after the CPS pressurised the higher charges to be dropped as it "was not in the public interest" . only the immense work of SAS and the bravery of the victim ensured prosecutions in this landmark case. The way the police acted was shsmeful throughout, from lack of action, attempted cover up, harrasing and threatening members of the Sikh community to not talk about the case or discussion social media under threat of prosecution etc. The full details of the abuse actually never hit the public domain ...

  14. Males are being bashed all over, no matter what colour, race, or faith. Thankfully, some are waking up to this systematic onslaught, albeit subtle and on many fronts, and are doing their best to help those stuck in the mire, or even the youngsters coming up, to open their eyes. That's not to negate the serious problems of sexual abuse perpetuated by males. I guess decent, God-fearing Muslims must feel frustrated when they're all targeted for the actions of a sizable few of their kind. But for a Sikh organisation to come out with something like that isn't surprising. If only they paid more attention to their Sikhi instead of following their feminist doctrine with such passion, they'd realise the reality of matters. Stuff like this doesn't bode well for us, particularly in the west. It's always our lot that breaks rank. Other groups have a siege mentality and a "backs against the wall" ethos when they feel they're being unfairly targeted; Sikhs do the opposite and turn on each other without any provocation, in effect doing the opposition's work for them! I've never experienced or seen similar behaviour from any other group but ours. The same old story.

  16. Depression, stress, anxiety, negative suicidal thoughts can be removed- if you don't give up and with perseverance combat them by not identifying with them. Start off with ardas to Guru maharaj ji to bless you with will power and perseverance, because without grace of vahiguru/satguru's kirpa not even one leaf can move on the tree. Everyone(even sinners of highest calibre) is born with pure portion of mind ( source of mind which is right at the starting edge of mind) which we sikhs call it surat/bibek/brahmakar unconditioned birthi- intuitive unconditioned consciousness/pure cognitive perception. So divide your mind into two- -diseased mind which is affected by five vices, depression, stress, anxiety, emotional negative suicidal thoughts -pure portion of mind-intuitive unconditioned consciousness/pure cognitive perception mind What we often do is we try to combat diseased conditioned mind with diseased conditioned mind which may only provided band aids fixes but it does not look at the root, that's why many psychologist fail to address the root cause, they provide solution to fix one problem but inadvertently create other problems as well-such as more conditioning, dependency on medication etc. So With pure portion of mind start a first phase journey which is simply witnessing the thoughts come in, let whatever thoughts (no matter how hideous) come in and whatever thought go -go..don't judge or analyze the thoughts, just simple witness as pure witness, it will take some practice so to make it easier..here are some analogies it help further or visualize: -Witness the thoughts visualize-thoughts being clouds-appearing/disappearing on its own accord , it does not matter to you because you are the sky which has pure vantage view (pure unconditioned intuitive cognitive consciousness-achal thoughtless surat) in which thoughts come in and out as clouds, you have pure vantage to witness your thoughts not matter how big and scary clouds are, it cannot touch you as you can always see them below, they are below you. - Imagine you are in the middle of road- each thought is car trying to hit you, drag you with it. Imagine how painful it is being hit by each car (thought) which is dragging you all the way, what you do ? do you fight with a speedy car coming at you? No..you simply get on a side of road, move away and witness the thoughts(in form of car) travelling in and out of road-your view and ultimately ignore them by abiding in your consciousness(surat)...after a while car-lethal weapon (thoughts) will loose its influence on you as you will start witnessing them and not getting hit by them and eventually you will also transcendent witness stage as well in straight in abidance in already available inner state we all have already in our pure universal portion of mind which is achal moraat (pure motionless stillness-afor-thoughtless awareness) universal being at the point Guru's kirpa will unfold itself and guide you further. Anyway, your main focus should be to disidentify with your negative thoughts, but since you are at it, you might as well try to understand thoughts structure how transient they are and illusory they are, disidentify with them all together with pure universal portion of mind (pure unconditioned intuitive cognitive consciousness), and don't worry about right actions and rights speech, trying to figure how to do naam jaap since everything comes from there, this unconditioned pure intuitive cognitive consciousness will guide you further how to do naam jaap, gurbani patt, right speech, right actions very naturally and spontaneously.

Other cover ups by other Police forces, Hillsborough, Stephen Lawrence, Blair Peach, deaths in custody, grooming (Rochdale, Rotherham, Sheffield just to name a few), high ranking paedophile cover ups Jimmy Saville, Cyril Smith, the list goes on and on and these are only mainstream news articles. 20. Caste is a load of bull. I know so many married across the "caste-divide" - after a few years not even the families initially opposed to the union give a damn!

  21. Please be strong.Your boyfriend needs to win them over and assure them that there girl will be looked after, loved and above all respected. Your happiness is what counts. The caste system is still ripe but a new cast system is appearing in the west, University graduates tend to get married to University graduates etc,,,,,,,,, All your parents will think about is what family members and the community will say. Believe me they will say plenty but after a bit of time they would have forgotten. The other route is one of misery and regret. You can listen to these so called do gooders and marry someone else of your families choice. This will lead to other problems. Like do you come clean about your boyfriend and how serious you was about him. Or do you keep it secret, in which case its a ticking time bomb waiting to explode! Be honest to yourself, marriage its the biggest decision you will ever make. Simple rule is two people love one another, they raise happy confident children, who will want to carry their sikhi forward. Be strong, be honest and speak to your parents or get both sides to talk to one another.

  23. I was just checking whether SAS had been invited or whether they were consulted or involved in the process. I don't doubt SAS's commitment to the cause I know of the tremendous amounts of seva they put in.These other organisations that have previously been silent for 10 years suddenly are interested as they know its a big issue now and a chance to steal some media attention and limelight. Where were they for the last 10 years when SAS were amongst the only ones representing the cause and of course Shere E Punjab in the 80's. Back on topic though, the media coverage of the actual video basically states that a Sikh male was attacked in what had been suggested may be a racially motivated attack so the police are investigating. Now this may well be true. How exactly does this equate to "irresponsible" coverage by the media ? A rather flawed and poorly concieved press release by Sikh federation in my opinion.

  25. I respect your understanding of Gurbani, but on this topic you are really reaching, when you have nothing to reach for. Why can't the keski be hung close by? Why would a person tie a keski around the body while showering and then take the same keski and tie it around the head hair, which the person just washed? The keski is unclean and tying it on the washed hair will make the hair unclean again. Might as well not take a keshi ishaan, if you are going to do this. If you are this paranoid about it. It's better to keep a clean keski close by and tie the clean keski around the wet hair and remove the unclean keski off the body. Keski keeps the hair protected!! Are there birds in your bathroom ready to take one on your head? Do you see what I mean by really reaching for an answer here. What symbolic significance does all this have; what you are saying? Kangha can be tied on the kirpan gatra and put to the side. Have more than one gatra and kirpan, problem solved. What is the need to tie a kirpan around the head? Also do tell me how you tie your 3 foot kirpan around your head? Yea the pot belly and super lazy Sikhs don't get dirty as I say because they sit around all day in their sweat and don't realize they are sweating. It's common sense, the body sweats and whether in urban or rural areas there is dust. lol....gated communities. Gated community people are sleeping with firearms under/around/close to their beds. Old grandma's are wielding shotguns. Kirpan is a form of protection anytime and can be easily concealed if needed. Best protection is the kirpan because of it's capacity to do the most damage in the least amount of time. A person can be stabbed easily 10 times in 5 seconds. Only you will make this ridiculous argument. Here are some "21st century" facts for you. Just because the house alarm goes off, does not mean the police officer magically appears at your door in a split second; not superman. We are talking about real life not hollywood movies. And today crooks, rapist, and killers can jump over the 50 000 dollar fence around your gated community because your hard earned tax dollars paid for the gym equipment in correctional facilities. Yes, but in the context of bathing in a river. Okay, now it's time to get real. Your simple little keski will be knocked off your head in a split second and wrapped around your neck to chock you out. Dastars come off so fast and so do dumalla. No magic powers in dumalla that keep them on your head in a fight. Have you seen the recent video of two Singhs going at it in a nagar kirtan in US? Dastars were knocked off like soccer balls being kicked around. What about the video, where Taksali Singhs in Canada tried to forcibly remove Ghagga off a Gurdwara stage. One guys dastar was knocked off and he had his hair completely open. Stop playing cowboys and Indians with your action figure dolls.

  26. A few statements by the Sikh Federation (UK) on grooming:http://www.sikhsangat.com/index.php?/topic/72641-sikh-federation-uk-welcomes-bbc-one-tv-programme-exposing-the-sexual-exploitation-and-grooming-of-sikh-girls/ http://www.sikh24.com/2014/08/28/oped-sikh-federation-uk-condemns-misuse-of-term-asian/#.VRzbF2K9KSM http://gla.cc/2014/09/finally-sikh-outrage-over-despicable-politically-correct-habit-the-british-media-have-of-calling-muslims-asians-instead-of-what-they-are-muslims/ Sometimes we forget organisations like the Sikh Federation (UK) do issue statements on grooming and do not mix their words. Very few other organisations that have a range of activities take up the issue in the media and politically. Perhaps we allow ourselves to forget such matters as the Sikh Federation (UK) is so vocal on many other issues or we dislike them for some reason. The issue is also tackled head on in the Sikh Manifesto and two meetings have taken place with the UK Govt in the last few weeks.

  27. You are speaking an ideal case which is not applicable to everyone. In case sangat is not available then I see your point. But if sangat is available then as instructed by Guru Sahib, one should go to sangat. Many Gursikhs have struggled without sangat and many naam abhiyasi Sikhs have found sangat to be the most beneficial for their progress and to keep them from making mistakes. Guru Sahib has spoken highly of sangat which they themselves established. So it cannot be ignored or downplayed. While Guru Sahib is eternal and with us, it is the sangat that strengthens our beliefs and faith in Guru Sahib. Sangat encourages us to practice Sikhi more and more. I never said sangat is the only solution. It is part of Sikhi and cannot be ignored. Taking your stance, how do you explain numerous people who have fallen from Sikhi? How do you explain some Sikhs who reached high avastha and then went astray? Sikhi is not an individualistic path. The whole concept of Panth goes against the very idea of doing everything all alone. A Sikh keeps Amrit Vela, does nitnem and also goes to sangat where he learns about higher avasthas and resolves his spiritual obstacles. Guru Sahib also works his kirpa through sangat. My whole point was that if someone goes away from Sikhi, sangat should try to bring them back. Maya, haumain, mind, and five vices are very powerful. Ask any naam abhiyasi Gursikh. You may have reached the ideal avastha you speak of but not everyone has and hence, they need sangat and blessings of Guru Sahib to get there.

For me, I like to read about game development and the theories behind it, as well as films. Therefore the ads I get on this site are for websites which sell video games or films. If you're getting adverts for lingerie I would suggest that something is occurring at your end not this website's.

  29. Sorry guys, just trying to inject a bit of light hearted humour. Somalis are mainly refugees they are not economic migrants because of the civil strife in their country after their country got taken over by warlords. By nature they are a tribal people and when you place them into an alien environment like the UK, they are not going to be adapt as quickly as a Pole or a Chinese person since these people have some assemblance of a civilisation behind them. If you come from a society that had an agrarian society then moved into an urban/mercantile society with a rich history/culture where you have a system where you understand what money is and what you need to get to move forward. You come from a society that has the necessary complexity to be able to move into another society that also has similar complexities. Somalia is not a sophisticated society. I know that in 1991, the US were somehow involved in Somalia (I think there was a film called Black Hawk Down based on it). You will find Somalis all over the place, they are in Europe, US, Canada etc, we are not the only country to take them in.

  31. http://www.birminghammail.co.uk/news/midlands-news/three-west-midlands-police-officers-8558570 Three West Midlands Police officers sexually exploited underage girls06:30, 2 February 2015 By Jeanette Oldham Among 22 cases where cops or staff accused of abusing their position of authority to prey on the public 2630 Shares Share Tweet +1 Email West Midlands Police Three West Midlands Police officers abused their position of authority by sexually exploiting underage children in the last two years. The predators in uniform were sacked or resigned after being convicted at court for targeting a 15-year-old and two 14-year-olds. Meanwhile, other officers from the force have been dismissed or disciplined for a range of offences or conduct relating to sexual exploitation of members of the public. Yet one cop was allowed to simply resign after being accused of having a sexual relationship with a 21-year-old suspect who was on bail. Another faced only ‘management action’ after being accused of flirting with a domestic violence victim. West Midlands Police has also confirmed there are currently eight live investigations into claims officers and/or staff may have abused their positions of authority by sexual exploitation. The shocking details were revealed after a Freedom of Information request by the Mail to the force. We had asked for details of all cases of abuse of position of authority by sexual exploitation for 2012 to 2014. After initially insisting it could not provide the information, the force eventually released data which showed 13 police officers and one civilian staff member had been accused of abuse of authority through sexual exploitation during that period. All were white. The force refused to release details of the eight other live cases. The most serious cases from 2012 saw the three police officers charged and convicted at court after targeting underage children. One resigned after inappropriate sexual contact by text with a 15-year-old, while a second was said to have ‘retired/resigned’ after inciting a child under 16 to engage in sexual activity. The latter had been facing a discreditable conduct investigation over the alleged abuse of the 14-year-old victim. The third officer was dismissed after “sexually assaulting a minor over a sustained period’’, who was also just 14-years-old. Lloyd House, the West Midlands Police HQ The Freedom of Information response also detailed other cases of abuse of power by sexual exploitation by West Midlands Police officers and staff. One officer facing a discreditable conduct complaint in 2012 was alleged to have had a sexual relationship with a 21-year-old who was on bail. The cop resigned, bringing the investigation to a close. The same year an officer was dismissed after entering into a relationship with a ‘vulnerable’ member of the public, age unknown, while another cop was sacked after being accused of a sexual assault in the workplace. Also in 2012, another officer faced management action - advice about their conduct, the lowest form of disciplinary sanction - after being accused of making sexual suggestions to a member of the public, aged 30. In 2013, the force sacked an officer who had been accused of breaching ‘honesty and integrity’ rules after he was alleged to have ‘‘lied to his supervisors to leave work early to have sex with a vulnerable female’’, who was aged 30. The same year management action was taken against one officer after text messages showed he may have entered into an ‘‘inappropriate’’ relationship with a 27-year-old victim. The force also took management action against another officer in 2014, who was accused of behaving inappropriately by flirting with a 34-year-old domestic violence victim. Of the four remaining cases, the force ruled there was no case to answer against an officer accused of sexually discriminatory behaviour, or that of a staff member accused of sexually harassing a member of the public. A complaint was not upheld against an officer accused of acting inappropriately towards a complainant and allegations against another officer that they had an inappropriate sexual relationship with a member of the public was subject of a ‘disapplication’ - stopped by the force before an investigation began. Last week it was revealed a report prepared by the former Serious Organised Crime Agency for the Association of Chief Police Officers (Acpo) had warned the number of police officers exploiting crime victims and witnesses for sex was increasing. The nationwide investigation, compiled in 2013 and based on three years of intelligence, said officers abusing their positions for ‘sexual gratification’ was ‘a major concern’. The findings formed part of a new report by Her Majesty’s Inspectorate of Constabulary (HMIC) which showed that of 4,611 investigations nationally into alleged abuse of power, 2,891 did not lead to a prosecution or internal disciplinary action. And in the 12 months to March 31 in 2014, a total of 406 officers and police staff were investigated for sexual misconduct, a four per cent rise on the previous year. One in six were allowed to retire or resign and around 40 per cent faced no further action. The report added that the 43 police forces in England and Wales had done much to tackle corruption, but more proactive measures were needed to improve internal reporting systems, as half of all officers did not believe they were confidential enough. Michael Cunningham, from HMIC HMIC inspector Mike Cunningham said he wanted to see “a more proactive approach by police leaders to identify officers likely to conduct themselves in this way and put preventative measures in their way. They have to be more vigilant. It is not decreasing and remains a significant problem. “Police officers were quick to tell us that they see corrupt colleagues as a betrayal of the vast majority who are honourable, decent and hard-working.” Jacqui Cheer of the Association of Chief Police Officers stressed corruption was “neither endemic nor widespread” and added: “However, the actions of a few corrupt officers can corrode the reputation of the vast majority who work hard every day to protect the public. “We will continue to improve our approach so that those who are not fit to be in the police are held to account and removed.” In 2012 the Independent Police Complaints Commission and Acpo published a report which said forces should make the prevention, detection and investigation of officers abusing their powers for sexual exploitation a priority. Their joint report followed the case of Northumbria police constable Stephen Mitchell, 43, who was jailed for life in January 2011 for carrying out sex attacks on vulnerable women, including prostitutes while on duty. Other high-profile cases include South Wales Police family liaison officer Detective Constable Jeffrey Davies, who was jailed for three years in 2013 for sexually assaulting victims of domestic abuse who he was supposed to be looking after. West Midlands Police and Birmingham City Council are putting extra resources into tackling child sexual exploitation, after being criticised for failing vulnerable youngsters, including some thought to have fallen victim to on-street grooming gangs. Yet the force previously controversially refused to release pictures of ten Birmingham men named in court as having sexually exploiting a 17-year-old girl. Court injunctions have now banned the men, all Asian, from approaching young girls. High Court judge Mr Justice Keehan said police submissions that their safety would be at risk if their pictures were released “made no sense at all” – with the evidence provided “at best speculative.” WARWICKSHIRE POLICE Last year the force sacked a police staff member for discreditable conduct relating to sexual exploitation of a 35-year-old member of the public. The force did not disclose the victim’s age. In 2013 the force investigated an officer and a civilian employee, both over allegations of sexual misconduct involving members of the public. One of the cases was dealt with by an intervention meeting by the anti-corruption unit, the other was filed with ‘no findings of misconduct’. STAFFORDSHIRE POLICE Four officers and staff were investigated for abuse of authority by sexual exploitation in 2012 and 2013. Figures were not disclosed for 2014. In 2012 one officer was investigated for discreditable conduct involving a member of the public whose age was not recorded. Investigations found there was a ‘case to answer’; the officer resigned. The following year two officers and one civilian member of staff were investigated for discreditable conduct relating to abuse of authority by sexual exploitation. A 55-year-old police officer was found to have a case to answer. He too was said to have retired/resigned. The force was unable to provide an age for the victim. A second police officer was found to have no case to answer over allegations they sexually exploited three women, two aged 35 and another aged 44. A civilian staff member was also exonerated over allegations of discreditable conduct involving a member of the public, whose age was not recorded by the force. WEST MERCIA Six West Mercia Police officers and staff were investigated for abuse of authority by sexual exploitation in 2012 and two in 2013. The force refused to disclose the number for 2014.Among those investigated in 2012 was an officer who was subsequently dismissed for ‘discreditable conduct/other sexual conduct’ involving three members of the public aged 28, 40 and 42.In the same year the force filed as ‘intelligence only’ an allegation of discreditable conduct against a civilian member of staff. The age of the victim was not recorded. In 2013 an officer was sacked and subjected to criminal proceedings over allegations of sexual misconduct involving two members of the public, aged 43 and 37.

  32. Why do we prerequisite being 'amritdhari' to speak up for Panthic issues? Many times I have seen people demanding others to take Khande di Pahul before talking about Panthic issues. But are the really two related? Jinnah, who founded Pakistan - the home for the Indian Muslims - was a non practising Muslim who enjoyed wine, women and pork. Theodor Herzl - founding father of Zionism - was a cultural Jew and a self admitted atheist.

  33. Just a quick note. When we look at the Palestinian issue, you'll find religious Muslims and secular/non-religious Muslims united in the Palestinian cause. Just take a glance at any demonstration in London. They have unity, that's the key. Now, cast your eyes to the Khalistan issue or other panthic issues, non-Amritdhari's (the vast majority of Sikhs) are usually invisible. Is this a good thing? This is despite, I may add, that an overwhelmingly strong support for Khalistan from the non-Amritdhari Sikhs. This is despite the fact that there is a wealth of talent, lawyers, etc who could do a better job than the overweight uncle-ji's but are prevented from coming forward. The same is true for Jews and Israel. Israel was established on the backs of approximately 7% ultra-orthodox Jews - yes, only 7%. The other 93% were NOT made to feel sub-human or worthless. Without them, there probably would be no Israel today. Look at the Knesset, the Israeli parliament. It's hardly saturated with Hasidic Jews. But, they have unity. Sikhs are a tiny community as it is. We need to stick together.

  34. I think khalsa being spiritual following atam updesh/abiding in inner real jot- jagad jot by sri guru gobind singh ji is as much important if not more... its the aim of every sikh dictated by our tenth guru. If one is not deep rooted in this goal or abide in this atam updesh then conditioned egoic mind kicks in..you see there is no room for complacency in sikhi. Don't find solace in the fact you have managed to follow few code of conduct (did patt for 1.5 hrs) at the first level and thats it, anyone can do it..time to move towards higher reality than camping out in first level being all that comfortable, harping about it to monaie by playing - amritdharis holier than thou attitude. Tables can easily turn..don't think amritdharis are given automatic spiritual sachkhand express free liberation card. Let panth sevadars who are given to this duty to ensure maryada is followed worry about it. Monaie have place in sikhi, everyone has place in sikhi. During baba sahib singh bedi, maharaj ranjit singh time which was backed up by sant khalsa baba bir singh ji nurangabad, there were monaie even hindus/muslims who worked under his administration. We were more progressive sikh nation than western nations then, the idea is whose more fit more certain areas in expertise? whoever is fit for job gets it, yes off course there are certain conducts one has to follow..but precedence should take over who has the skills for example- It will be quite ridicolous to deny/reject doctor help or scientist or his input- scientific study within khalsa raj just because doctor isn't amritdhari. No such radical move was made in sikh history..We are not crazy elitist group. Sarbat khalsa must consist of atleast panj pyares who is atleast at parkosh atam gyani (who is already at nidashan stage mentioned in japji sahib) if not aparkoash bhramgyani. Otherwise you may fall into and end up like these misguided people-

  35. Khalsa is atamgyani (enlightened one) bhramgyani as per sarbloh granth so if people want to play this silly, egoic- amritdhari holier than thou game- most of us are manmukhs (no real different than patit) from standpoint of khalsa. Don't mess with maharaj's leela- be humble when tables are turned all the previous big egoic condescending obnoxious patronizing self righteous cactus jacks were forced from their high moral grounds and were reduced to dust. Also read sri dasam granth- if satoguni body of big previous avtars were subjected to five elements- what makes you think some egoic conditioned individual who think of himself as khalsa, dress it up as khalsa or think his tribe as khalsa, confine khalsa into conditioned mind - looks down upon other people will be forgiven by kaal. so always be humble. Tables can turn against anyone especially against those who are still in under realm of maya and talk big- looks down on people.

  36. Patit means someone who took Amrit and later broke Rehat. Most of the moneh Sikhs are not in that category.
