How do you know it will never succeed? Is it better to believe in fairy tales? When children ask why we do something or why such and such is happening do you think its better to give them an answer which makes logical sense or better to say something like lok idha kehde aa? Sianhe idha kehde aa? Babaji idha kehnda aa? That's not good enough especially for older more independent thinking kids. Or do you want our children to be like sheep and just follow the crowd? Also science has been changing since the development of the Quantum theory. Many quantum physicists say there were atheists but now believe in a higher power and believe the universe is made by design. Science is a great tool but I don't think it has all the answers. Some of these we need to find within ourselves.5 points

It is just sickening and very painful to see these absurd hate crimes. To all those foolish and beast blacks, and to anyone who uses crime for racial reasons, following are the soothing words of a man who was black, yet very much human. O you all sick in mind, racists , learn something from his precious words, "I look to a day, when people will not be judged by the colour of their skin, but by the content of their character."— Martin Luther King Jr. —3 points

@Singhballer I read your response a couple of times. I must say it's very well written and I appreciate the way you have approached what you think the relationship between science/logic is to Sikhi. I think we've started to lose the intended reason of the topic. People are against Bhai Ranjit Singh because of him calling out a lot of the story/sakhian spread throughout our history. He's not exactly a scientist so I can't really comment on how elaborate or parallel his view is to science but when it comes to Gurbani and especially the historical side of our Sikh faith and the impact history has on it I must say he makes one think if perhaps maybe what had happened before Guru Nanak jee's arrival has now come full circle and we're back in the same spot. I see people using certain stories to gain exclusivity and influence under the banner of Guru Sahib. Just because a particular Sakhi was written/spoken by a well known "Gursikh" in say the 1800's doesn't automatically make it authentic because what's there to say he didn't just do what the same people are doing today? Many of these people such as Bhai Thakur Singh and others are going to go down in history in a very positive light. Does that mean the generation which arrives in say 2400 should have blind faith in their stories? Bhai Sahib is entitled to his own interpretation to Guru Sahib, at no point is he going against Gurbani. He has his own viewpoint. I'd say he comes from a very priveleged background having initially been among a sadhu/dera background and now exploring more mainstream Sikhi - people who are outright disregarding him because he's challenged something they were taught from a young age. That's what I don't agree with. There was another person in this topic who quoted me. I mean there's nothing wrong with having strong opinions but I can't engage in a conversation with someone who is simply blurting out some sort of emotional me vs you type of speech. I'm not interested because it seems like a waste of time as not only is it counter-productive it doesn't belong in a discussion from where one can learn from.3 points

Well then this is news to me @chatanga1 can you please refer me to when he has called Bhai Gurdas Jee a liar. I don't really have the energy to be responding to each of your points but I have never heard this one. Oh and no you're not the person I was referring to. However "applause for ghaghri" Slow down there, if this is your level of conversation then don't expect ANYONE to take you seriously. Nobody is applausing anyone, it's called having a discussion and exploring information. Even if you have something valid to say, if it's going to come out with hatred then it's more than likely to be disregarded. I'm not an affiliate of any jatha, samprada and quite frankly don't care as much as some people here do but I am against entitled individuals telling people how to think especially where they think it's fair to restrict someone to their viewpoint.2 points

People are also against ghaghri because he has called Bhai Gurdas Ji a liar. He has also committed the folly of trying to redefine what "god" is which against the Mool Mantar. He has also told people that "god " wants them to sleep-in, in the mornings because that is the way "god" has designed them, to recharge their batteries instead of waking up for nitnem. I'm sure you have heard ghaghri say that births and deaths are only in the mind. What nonsense is that? This has nothing to do with sakhian. You are trying to portray this as the only reason that people are against ghaghri. So do I. I see a person in flambouyant outfits which I would expect to see in Brazilian gay/lesbian parades gaining influence only because of SGGS in his diwans and a load of brain-dead cult followers. So the Guru could make mistakes according to you? Bhai Gurdas Ji vaaram contain a lot of sakhis. Guru Sahib also selected Bhai Gurdas Ji to scribe SGGS. Could Guru Sahib have done this without knowing that Bhao Gurdas has written in his vaars? Saying there is no reincarnation. No 84 lakh joon is going against Guru Sahib. "mainstream" ? Mainstream Sikhi has never rejected reincarnation. Thats because you are wrong. People, like me, outrightly oppose him because of his anti-gurmat teachings. I oppose him because he is a big supporter of darshan rogis group in USA. They support him and he supports them. the same rogi who changed the khande di pahul vidhi. Such a heinous crime by darshan rogi yet not ONE word from ghaghri about it whilst every Sikh who has faith in his Guru has spoken against rogi. Tough. I might not be the person who you are refering to, but I will respond to any type of applause from anyone for ghaghri. I myself don't understand why you would stand in support of someone who has said the anti-gurmat things ghaghri has said. its like you have no faith in Gurbani.2 points

So wait, you don't want Sikhs to use logic and instead use what? blind faith? Bhai Ranjit Singh is a parcharak, you might not agree with him 100% and that is what you should debate. Pick out something of his you don't agree with and discuss that. Don't speak out silly provocative statements against an individual and grow up or you'll end up pushing MORE people away.2 points

What odious BS has been spouted against Naam Japna? There are new videos posted on YouTube all the time and I don't have time to watch them all. Could you find a link or a quote or something please?2 points

This video has come to my attention made by some American black supremacist against Sikhs and other non-black minorities. Have you noticed you get more violence, hate, disrespect, intolerance, aggression from racist blacks than racist whites? It is also worthy of noting that there has not been 1 incident I can recall of Sikhs attacking blacks yet there is countless stories and newspaper articles of black criminals having murdered innocent Sikh store workers or carried out race hate attacks on them in the street. The racist black oppression against other minorities and non-blacks generally must be acknowledged and called out. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC-hqtmKlfHofTGEGyYrn_Bw/videos?disable_polymer=11 point

Please elaborate on what this "mainstream Sikhi" is. Ranjit Dhandri, or anybody for that matter, is under no obligation to follow or believe the opposite of whatever kind of Sikhi you think he preaches but that doesn't mean that you do complete khandan mandan of Traditional/Sampardaic Sikhi. This is not the Sikh way of doing veechaar/prachaar. His extreme 180 on his viewpoints, deliberately provocative and controversial speeches/videos etc, baseless challenges, and as I said shameless khandan mandan makes many suspicious of his motives which come off as underhanded and deceitful. I'm not trying to insult him but the farce he calls prachaar/katha is just him ignorantly running off at the mouth. If he was a figure in a different arena, he would have unconditionally lost all credibilty. I mean Jeez the guy doesn't even know what Merry Christmas means lol instead confidently giving his own whacky, erroneous (but hilarious) arth...that should be an indication of this guy's avastha and level of gyaan. maybe they will appreciate the fact that Guru Nanak Dev ji went with Bhai Mardana to Rome to talk about the sin of slavery to the Pope , there are vatican records to substantiate the story and subject matter . Ok. I base it on the western civilisation that has rejected Christianity and God ever since it start living according to scientific discovery. What fairy tales? Like Baba Deep Singh fighting with his head cut off? Tell me what particular fairy tales you have in mind. Well this ties in with the question I put to you. Prove to me using science and logic that "god" exists so I can pray to him/her/it. I'm one of these older, more independent thinking children. I don't want to be a sheep and follow the crowd. So please prove to me using science and logic that "god" exists so I can pray to him/her/it. Also who would you count as "lok, siane, babaji" ? I think that Bhai Gurdas Ji, Bhai Mani Singh ji etc don't fall into the above category. "many" ? So you shouldnt have a problem in proving that "god" exists and I should pray to him/her/it. Let's leave aside "I don't think it has all the answers" for the moment. Lets get somewhere on the most basic question. Let science prove that "god" exists.1 point

When Guru Sahib says give me your head. This doesn't mean to use science and logic as the tool to see if Gurbani is saying the right thing. Yet this is what Ranjit Singh is doing. Gurbani says give me your head and don't look to another. This includes not to look to your and others logic and science to say what is religion, spirituality and how to practice it. When Gursikhs don't understand something in Gurbani. They read further on in Sri Guru Granth Sahib to find the answer or re-read what they have already read and/or look for a more learned Sikh to provide the answer from Gurbani. Where was science when Vaheguru took the form of half man and lion to destroy an egotistical King? Where was logic and science when Vaheguru turned a temple to face his Bhagat, Bhagat Naamdev ji? Can science and logic explain how Baba Deep Singh fought without his head? Sikhi cannot be measures by anything. Sikhi is about living and becoming what is being taught.1 point

I don't want Sikhs to rely on logic/scientific reasoning because I believe no-one can prove that Sri Akaal Purkh actually exists. If you can then prove it to me, and i will stop having blind faith that Sri Akaal Purkh exists and use logic instead. I did in my post. I'll repeat it again for you: "Dhadri says that this is an age of logic and science. That youngsters need to be convinced of Gurmat through scientific and logical means. Which will never succeed. Or if it does will turn Sikhs into athiests, like Christians in the west have largely become after all their scientific and technological achievements. " I don't agree with that and have said so. If you disagree with me, tell me why. Well my friend, that's unfortunately what you did yourself by not reading my post properly.1 point

All I hear repeatedly is a message to use common sense, think logically, develop your minds, do paath/ardas yourself and try to understand, make your own connection with waheguru who is inside you. Compare that to my local gurdwara Gianni who is more than happy to take a tenner to do ardaas, instead of saying look mate I can show you how to do it but this needs to come from you. If I was making money from Sikhi I wouldn't like this guy either.1 point

Brother I have tried hard to figure out what actually is your real problem...also I have tried my best along with the rest of the valuable members of this forum to cheer you up, but again and again you return to your start point in trying & planning to suicide. What the hell is there which troublles you that much taht you pay no heed to our words and continue with your obstination attitude of suiciding. You see, you have treated so badly (I think so) that you have turn out a coward, and easily thinks of suiciding... Many a times, though we humans are supposed to be more intelligent than animals and other lower species, but the fact is we are dumb. Just take any example of creatures, while being chased by their depredators eaters, even then in such terrible and pitiful situations, they run to save their lives . And on the other hand, we foolish humans, just because somebody abuses us, hates us, or keep bullying us, we turn into cowards and out of fear and anxiety, run into depression, and out for suicide...so silly. Pull up your courage, and give back in return what they deserve ...but do not be a docile sufferer, for the more you tolerate, the more they will piss on you. If you are a sikh, you must know that your present life condition is based on your past karam. Talk to your mom and uncle lovingly, that, you have not chosen to be what you are now in this present life, and it is by Wahiguru´s governing laws of Nature, that you are born in this your family, nothing is in your hands neither in theirs, so though you may not be their ideal, but nevertheless, you are a respected human being, thus let all together fulfill your karam among yourselves, not with hatred, but with a sense of respect care and dignity as human beings. By now you may have noticed, how so many members care for your recovery, to be a healthy normal person, whether physically or psicologically, so Singh Jee, take advantage to recover, and the first step is, start loving and respecting yourself just as you are. Live for yourself, live for Guru Jee, and to the hell the rest of the world, whosoever tries to belittle you, as i said yesterday, they are not worthy for your attention to the extent that you want to suicide. Do not be stupid, enough of it! Then too, just tell me, if you kill yourself, where do you think you will you go? To heaven? For as you said, you want to die once only, by suiciding.... Ha ha ha, what rubbish. That can never be possible, for if you suicide, you will sure turn into the wheel of chaurasee, where you can be born as a cow, the lions or tigers will try to kill you and eat you... or be a fish, then, men will trap you, or a bigger fish will eat you , and so on with the rest of species, so you see, you will be constantly running out of fear and anguish, to save your life . So brother, if you have even just 2 cents of sense, remove the idea of suiciding. How can you be so blind, that by suiciding once, you firmly move into an endless wheel of births and deaths, with a lot of fear and pain, and there you will not even have that much sense, that you will not even be possible to pray and do the bhakti of prem, of Wahiguru Akal Purukh. If you really want to die once, then brother dye yourself with His bhakti, so that He fills you with His kirpa, and pulls you out of this maha bhavsagar, then brother, you can proudly say, it will be your last life and death, for it is ony when merges into Him, we do not born nor die, we become immortal in Him, not by any otherwise. So brother, once again do not be foolish, use your common sense, be grateful to Wahiguru for blessing you with this human body, in order to do His bhakti, and break your ties with the endless cycle of births and deaths, for once and forever. Suiciding does not mean freedom from lfe and death, rather perpetuating yourself in contnuing dying countless times with pain and suffering. Living in His bhaana, doing His bhakti with His kirpa, is assuring yourself, to not be born anymore nor die ever again. So be wise, use your present life within the circumstances where mother Nature has kept you, be gratefull to Him with each step, with each breath : Dhan Wahiguru, dhan wahiguru, shukur Wahiguru, shukur Wahiguru . Then see, how He ferries you across from this valley of pain and suffering, towards your true home, His home, the land of joy, bliss, and eternal peace. Dhan Sree Wahiguru. Stay blessed. Sat Sree Akal.1 point

Please think before you do anything like this. I havent been in your situation ill be honest, but I have been really down and scred for months with family issues. But first thing is to stop watching videos get off the internet this is fuelling the bad thoughts. Lke paaji said before go Gurdwara and do some seva or interact with other Sikhs. Its hard to do but just push yourself, being locked in a room by yourself infront of a screen doesnt seem like the best idea. Go out for a run and exercise, youll be amazed how much a run will do, no headphones just go out and go for a jog. It must be hard but Guruji is always with you and will make you stronger. Try doing more simran and Sukhmani Sahib parths. Contact me if you need to talk. Waheguru1 point

I will make a few points but I generally am leaning no. Firstly, I do not support large ceremonies such as this. The more people, the more egos in you vicinity, the less clouded your view of Waheguru. Who knows if these people are even paying attention! Secondly, mass sanchar I do not support either as it frees you from the spotlight which should be burning a light right through you during normal < 10 person sanchar. But I would like to make it known that I have no understand of the size of the panth in India. Perhaps it is impossible to get personal time in a Gurdwara to take amrit. Third, there is too much drama and infighting. Great parchar though.0 points

Kind of a tricky question. Some people see him as the best and biggest preacher out there. The problem is that, of late, he has taken to denigrating each and every Sikh belief that he can get his hands on. From the next world, naam simran, the position of Guru Granth Sahib, sarovars, and so on, his positions have become indistinguishable from atheists. And then his dedicated followers don't even notice that he's preaching 180 degrees different from what he used to. They just say "Whatever Babaji (now Bhai Sahib) says is true." How's that any different from the blind sant-worshippers he castigates?0 points

More scare-mongering! The Mughals couldn’t wipe out the Sikhs even when the numbers were reduced to so few and you think Hindus could make Sikhs irrelevant.
