  2. For the youngsters out there or those new to Sikhi, it's not ok for a true seeker to date.

  3. Well if they’re Sikh females, then they maks up half the population of Sikhs around the world. Should we be encouraging this sort of behaviour? Or should we (as Sikhs) dissuade it? Anyone who views themselves as Sikh has a responsibility to the future generations of Sikhi. We can influence it directly in the here and now Guru Nanak Dev Ji called out others on their behaviour and actions. He didn’t ignore it - he tackled it head on. Or do you think Guru Ji should have looked the other way and minded his own business?

  4. With Sikh sangat being the main forum for Sikhs in the UK and it being quite popular. There are many who frequent this forum but do not post but see all the posts and topics. Ie 1000's of Sikhs and non Sikhs who browse the forum. Yet with some threads on here I cant but help to notice the negative image that is being projected of Sikhs. We should try and keep the forum clean of abusive comments and post about other faiths as it makes us look bad. Ie things I have noticed that some members have engaged in. Abusive comments towards women Abusive comments against hindus abusive comments towars India Abusive comments towards christians Absive comments towards muslims. Abusive comments against non Sikh people in general Criticism of other faiths. Being anti British Castists comments . All this is against Sikhism yet so many engage in this kind of discussions which is giving Sikhism a negative view and making sikhs appear ignorant and hateful people. We need to be aware of who is viewing these forums. They could be people from all walks of life, races, religions ect feom all over the world. Lets start being more aware and respectfull of what we say. Peace

  5. I think that's where the ego comes in. The sense of separation is caused by our ego, our haumai.

  6. You don't understand what is being said by Guru Sahib here. If you would have understood the shabad you would never say it is okay to be in kaam because Vaheguru does all. This shabad is saying there is only Vaheguru. You are saying there is a me; individual person, you are the yogi, but me doesn't take the credit for what Gurbani describes as bad after me does it. Me takes Gurbani and puts the kaam act on Vaheguru. If me understood this shabad me would not call Manmat acts as Gurmat. Next people like you would be saying murder is okay because me didn't do it, it was that God, who does everything. Hence I brought up Sri Guru Hargobind Sahib ji killing Chandu Shah for torturing Sri Guru Arjan Dev ji. But it flow right over your head as it never existed. If you want to claim Vaheguru has taken over your actions then be a Gurmukh and Sant like Baba Deep Singh. Let the Gurbani take over. But none of you want this because there is still a me, me does this, me does that, me can do whatever me wants. When a Sikh says its wrong, then me blames Vaheguru. Stop being the self proclaimed prophet of this world who lead there flock to kill themselves.

  7. My interpretation is that the light within us, the soul Jeev Aatma is Waheguru ji's light and it because of his hukam we are here. However Waheguru is distinct from his creation even though he is within creation. Creation is a form of Waheguru but Waheguru ji resides in Sach Khand where he takes care of us as Maharaj reveals in Japji Sahib. Creation i.e. us are not Waheguru alone because we don't have the strength of Waheguru ji. Waheguru ji is an infinite being, all powerful, all loving, eternal, ever present, immaterial, spaceless‌, Atemporal/ timeless being. Since Waheguru resides in Sach Khand (so in a sense he is not only Andhar wala, but also Upar Wale because he resides in a higher spiritual plane, the realm of truth) some may ask how is he everywhere? We can answer this with an analogy. Just like how the sun's rays hit earth from millions of miles away, Waheguru ji's light permeates throughout Sach Khand and into Dharam Khand (where we are) and all throughout creation. This is a very interesting topic and Basics of Sikhi are do a new series on Braham Vidhya and it cover this in much more depth.

  9. In the UK, religion has been belittled and hidden. Not allowed to wear crosses if you’re christian. Not allowed to talk about religion if you’re in some sort of profession. It’s all secularised. Personal but not public. You might as well have asked her if she shaves her bikini zone. It can be difficult based on name or appearance alone to determine the faith of someone and they may take measures to disguise or even abandon it. Others may feel they are judged based on their religion rather than their personality.

  11. You sound like a triggered feminist, weren't you posting pics of singhs dressed bad on another thread? Lol Everyone talks about men doing wrong on here yet when it comes to faults in women some feminist gets triggered. I never said it bothers me, in fact iv always said sikhs who want to date non sikhs should do that because not everyone is religious, many people will not look for "sikhi" in a partner bevause for many "sikhi" means nothing. Big tera posted a thread about Punjabi females dating non Punjabi men and I replied saying there's nothing wrong with that BUT when it comes to sikhi and inside the gurdwara there are rules, every ceromny has rules. Out side gurdwara they can do whatever they like And what I don't want is a passed around slapper for a wife.
